The most distracting car in the Back To The Future II for me was the Citroën DS taxi. Because, yes, 2015 America uses hovering 1950s Citroëns as taxis.
Had no idea these existed til I found a mod for GT Legends with this monster of a car!
Lancia Stratos Group 5 Turbo
This isn't so much a car I never heard of but more what I didn't know about it.
A Hyundai MPV designed by Pininfarina
The Lancia is pure nuts and that Hyundai just looked like a plain Hyundai MPV. For some reason the name Elantra came to mind (Even though that's a 4 door sedan). Only found out it was designed by Pininfarina as I saw one with the Pininfarina badge on it the other day.Yeah, Lancia did quite a lot of Gr.5 cars back in the day, and they're all monsters.
Also, that Hyundai MPV is the Matrix, a rather mundane car that just happened to bear the Pininfarina name. It's not his finest design, it has to be said.
Speaking of the unknown, I did not know that you could get a Peugot 405 GTI wagon, until I saw one go past me on the freeway today:

^ I'm not liking the wheels & step-board on the Reaper, it looks too tacky!
There was also a Mitsubishi Debonair AMG. So ugly...I just found out that there was a time in the late 1980's when AMG and Mitsubishi teamed up to make the AMG Galant. Unfortunately, it is an ugly mess and sales were horrible.

There was also a Mitsubishi Debonair AMG. So ugly...
The Debonair AMG was basically just a body kit. No major engine changes.
Totally. It looks like a car bound for the junkyard.Aw man, it's a pity that a AMG-tuned Mitsu has to look so... awkward. The Debonair manages to look even less cohesive than the Galant, and what is wrong with those wheels? Did AMG forget to get better ones, or was that a quick-fix? I say it's a pity because I'm sure that the perfomance of both models was probably improved over the stock versions...
Mind sharing specs? I want to know how much horsepower the AMG engine could crank out. There was also a Mitsubishi Debonair AMG. So ugly...
200hp 3.0l V6. Same as stock.Mind sharing specs? I want to know how much horsepower the AMG engine could crank out.
That is just sad. AMG producing only 200 horsepower?
They didn't touch the engine, that was Mitsubishi's doing. I think early C36 AMGs only had about 230hp, but that was the 90s.That is just sad. AMG producing only 200 horsepower?
So AMG only did the styling, right? Still, I expect more from AMG. Not as stylish as their Mercedes Benz Cars. They didn't touch the engine, that was Mitsubishi's doing. I think early C36 AMGs only had about 230hp, but that was the 90s.
The car itself is not that bad, but those wheels, they are awful. The Toyota Corolla II.
^ Nice try Corolla II, you ain't AE86 Trueno. The Toyota Corolla II.
"Classed up" with some out-of-place chrome trim...so tacky. I have to confess I'm liking the front end redesign in that last image, though. (And I have a soft spot for keis.)Anyhow, here is a car I just found out about while searching a Japanese car site.
It is the Toyota Duet. All it really is is just a rebadged Daihatsu Storia.
