I'd LOVE to see anyone get lower than that! :)

I'm working on it :D *Plugs in mum's Acer laptop*

He wont, he's only just got the Laptop recently. He doesn't really use it much for games anyway. :)

Exactly. I rarely use it for games because i run the risk of overheating it.

He should of used the mobile 3D Mark 06 benchmark then. It can be found here:

Ooo, i didn't see that. What are the differences? Easier on the computer or something? Bear in mind that i couldn't even get the 06 install file to run on my mum's - it jammed up.

AGP isnt dead.

BF2 wont run on medium because of how poorly it is programed. I call it cutting corners.
AGP 6800 GT's and Ultra's can still beat some of the PCI Express cards, if you have the right motherboard. Aswell as the right CPU and ram.

Gah, My setup is going to suck on this thing, judging the screenshots.

I'm downloading it now...

*Needs $300 for another BFG 6800GT*
1 GT is fine, what ram and CPU have you got.

I have two 512mb 533mhz DDR2 chips but a later purchase will probably be two 1gb 533mhz DDR2. :D

I wonder if it goes up to 3gb though? :dunce:

BF2 now runs for me on high 1024x768! :) No lag whatsoever online I get around 50 fps constantly. So it appears I did need a reinstall...odd.

👍 Sometimes thing like that just happen.

Since were on the sub. of monitors, if I use the DVI to VGA adaptor that comes with my vid card will there be a significant degridation of quality?? I really do not have the money to buy a new one. :grumpy:

Thanks guys I answered my own question. Yes, I can tell it's degraded but not enough that it's worst than what I've had. I can deal with this and I'm happy about how everything worked out. thanks...

The majority of PCI-E boards at the moment use the nForce 4 chipset. Which is the best damn chipset on the market at the moment (for gaming and just about everything else too).

You want to compare an AGP card versus a PCI-E card running nForce 4? I'll say it again — AGP is dead!

Check your motherboard out, but if you can run 3GB. You might aswell buy 1 Dimm of 1GB of DDR2 ram, also check what your Cas memory timings is.

I'm itching to test my desktop just to see how it matches up even though I have no clue what to expect. :dopey:

Unfortunately I'm at work all day til 4pm... I gotta figure out a way to make that thing more portable so I can bring it to work also. :dopey:

I have still slayed some of those PCI Express owners, if you look at different scores around the web.

lol, i've destroyed Athlon 64's with my 32bit sempron 3000+ :P

its just that pcie is the future. AGP is barely the present...

Well, I don't really care about that... I just want to see since everyone else here did it. I've never done it. I don't care if anyone beats me because I know my puter isn't the best. It's the best for me and I like it.

My computer can't seem to run it, it loads the first demo then it has to shutdown...

You overclocked didn't you. Plus you got to remember 64bit CPU's are not running at full power on an 32bit OS.

i dont think they would buy a 64bit cpu and not get the 64bit version of windows XP. at least not that many people ;P

yeah my sempron runs 2 ghz stock and i have it at about 2.3. i can probably get to 2.4 with more work.

its a barton core so it has 512k L2 cache.

I have no clue what it means but... (I'll do 06 later)

It is still good to have a 64bit CPU, even if not many games are in 64bit yet. Since it makes any PC future proof for a bit.

TVR, when are we going to see your results? You said you were downloading it 4 days ago. Test only takes 10/15 minutes or so.

Well TVR's always saying he can run his computer at 1024x768 (or 1280x1024) with all settings on high and 4x AA without a problem; do i predict a slightly less-than-impressive score has been uncovered? ;)

Mine suggests i'm running it at 450Mhz when it's actually going at 480Mhz, but that's obviously not as weird as showing up as 11Mhz
