For some reason submission isn't working... ? Anyway, WOW...

That "tweak" was better than putting a ricer exhaust on a Honda only to find out your getting two extra HP after all that wasted work and money. :dopey:

Yeah ok, well sorry, i guess Coolbits over-estimated how much your card could handle. Either turn the clocks down a bit, or just set them back to normal like Kev said. I've never had any artifact problems from using Coolbits before, usually quite a safe process.

At the moment trying to find some good software to overclock my CPU.
Software to overclock your CPU? Most CPU overclocking is done in the BIOS by increasing simple things like the FSB and voltage. My board has some kind of Dynamic Overclocking thing, which dynamically in/decreases the FSB accordingly to the load, but I don't really want to overclock with the insane temps at the moment (43C idle :().

I think it might be time to give everything a go over with compressed air and clean the dust off. :P

Either way, I might do some playing around and run 3dmark later on.

Not in my bios at all. But Don make sure Vip does not win, we do not want Intel to win the 3D Mark 06 battle.

Yeah... it seemed a lot better before I changed anything. Even with soft shadows off it seemed odd.

Ack!! It's slower!!!11 :scared:

 Oh man that's sig able!

There will be something about altering the settings of the frontside bus, and a couple of voltages i presume. Just have a look around in the BIOS - JHALAITBIOS :sly:

And don't worry, if VIPFREAK gets closer to my score we can just wheel Pako in :D His new PC should dominate. Probably a 5,000 with that lovely graphics card of his 'clocked.

Wonder out of who of us will get a AMD 64 AM2 motherboard first, it is tempting to buy because it can support DDR2. Aswell as the next breed of AMD 64 and FX CPU's.

:scared: That sounds like the drag race in F&F His S2000 against my Jetta... :grumpy:

I be back to push your score to its limits in the future hopfully Vip. Not now, but most likey in a year or 2 time lol.

Another thing has anyone found any 3D Mark 06 benchmarks done on a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core FX60 (Socket 939).

2 years! Blimey. I would've had two new computers by then...

But unlike you, I don't need to rebuild a system every year which is kind of like you. I plan my buying of new parts very carfully.

Buying new parts is like an auction.

The point i was making is that 2 years is a hell of a long time in computing terms. I'm not actually going to get two new PCs in that time...

And why did you say you would by then, anyway in 2 years time I can see 128bit CPU's starting to show. Or even starting to be made for PC's.

It was a joke.

In a just under a years time we're going to see the arrival of Vista the first widely distributed 64bit O/S from Microsoft. This will mark the beginning of the 64bit generation which i predict will last for about 10 years (same as the 32bit generation). I wouldn't get your hopes up about 128bit operations yet.

VIPFREAK, you might want to update your drivers from the official nVidia site. The latest drivers always seem to improve performance for the 7800GT and GTX, as they're the flagship range at the moment. ;)

Shannon, I'm running on about 43 idle as well. :( And there's no dust in my system as far as i can see. :\ It used to run at 28 idle! Any suggestions?

Yeah, I just don't know which one? Thanks though. 👍

My vid card runs at 43 C and I think my cpu is at 53? C :scared: I have to check that. :grumpy:

Take it the heatsink off and give it a good thorough clean. There's probably heaps of dust in the fins and so on.

Then again, the insane ambient temp outside wouldn't be helping mine much either. I hate the heat. :irked:

Thats not right, What do you run, AMD or P4? My CPU at idle is around 41*C, and my GPU (X850xt) is at 37*C. What are you using to show these numbers?
