Pacesetter header, exhaust sounds tinny again :P But i think I just need to get used to it. Sounds better moving.

I don't want to sound like a dick here, but i really don't like the way that sounds. I think it sounds pretty bad actually, and i don't really know how to describe why because i love everything about your car and i really do enjoy a nice RX7.. Is it possible to make it sound less weed wacker-ish? And i know it's a rotary so it's going to sound different.

Naw man i hear ya, though, It really does sound better under load. Wait till i dyno it next week that should sound better. 👍

Gonna have to make one of the ole 5.0! Thinking of rocking some glasspacks on her though lol.

Please do not get glasspacks. They suck in all cars. A good smooth high flowing exhaust is the best for SBF 302's. Glasspacks are just noise, a good catback would be a good tone.

Pacesetter? I remember their exhausts being the joke of the import industry back 3-5 years ago. I mean a whole catback was $160 and rusted halfway through its first midwest winter. Personal experience with about 3-5 different cars.

I look forward to it:tup:

I really want to get a vid of my car so all you guys can hear it... i think it sounds awesome for a 4 cylinder. 2.5 inch stainless steel catback, magnaflow, intake, and supercharged :)

:P Oh well, its on there now. But Midas did a flange this time around so it would be easy to replace if need be. I also wrapped it so I guess we will see how things go. Not to mention not all the reviews for this particular header were bad.

Cant go wrong with some with a whine. :)

From last summer. '92 Accord (auto, obviously :(). Factory 2" piping, resonator delete, and a Magnaflow muffler.

I know a few straightaways in the hills perfect for the job, so in the next few days here I'll shoot one from outside the car. Sounds a tad ricey just revving it in neutral/park, but under load I just love it. MF's full cat-back system, at I think 2.5" and with a resonator, is in the cards for sure.

Here's my exhaust sound. 1.8 20VT engine, Milltek downpipe and sports cat, Milltek cat-back/muffler.

Click pic to watch

Glasspacks sound pretty good, just stay away from Flowmasters. I recently rode in a 5.0 with them and the drone was inexcusable. Forget all this dual chambered crap that will get you confused with a pickup truck and go for some real performance (JBA?) exhaust.

If I were to shelve out some real money on a good exhaust I was thinking about Bassani.

JCE

I heard a 5.0 running just glasspacks and I thought the car sounded great. It's just tempting since they are so damn cheap.

Here's what it sounded like, I quite like it.

I agree glasspacks can sound excellent (^sick sound right there). I followed a Forester down Pikes Peak (white body, red mud flaps, rally-style lift, I so want one now!) and I think it had glasspacks. Whatever he was using as 'mufflers' it sounded pretty badass.

My PC's a complete piece of crap, I attempted to upload/post these vids a few days ago, got annoyed and forgot. But here they are.

My frankly appaling 0-60 run, windows down. I'm still getting to know the car's powerband, and I think this vid just told me where I should start shifting.

From outside. Too much traffic to sit there revving it, so I did a couple and gunned it. I'm a bit disappointed after hearing this, I quite like the noise from inside. Just the right amount of insulation I suppose.

I'll get videos when I can but they don't sound too fantastic. The Skyline does give a nice sort of "half-grunt" when you push it past about 4.5k rpm but again, it's not too fantastic.

1988 Nissan Skyline GXE
3.0L RB30E Inline-6
Oval exhaust tip welded on by previous owner, which is the extent of the modifications in that area.

1984 Suzuki Sierra LWB
1.0L carburetor inline-4
No modifications, although a hole in the exhaust is making it sound a lot louder than what it should.

I really don't like the way my car sounds, but it's a Honda so I shouldn't expect much. I plan on replacing the current setup soon.

1996 Honda 1.6L non-vtec
eBay header, 18" cherry bomb, stock resonator, eBay muffler. All 2.25" mandrel bent.

Plans I have for the change:
eBay header, Magnaflow bullet cat, 18" Magnaflow resonator, standard non-straight through muffler. Still all 2.25".

Bringing this thread back from the dead. Too bad the car's way too loud for the camera once again...

Got an Iphone windshield mount for the car so I tried it out. Just me cruising around town in the car. Gives you an idea what the car sounds like in everyday driving! Yes, the car is that stiff and yes I like to heel and toe cant help it haha. BTW, I went full throttle at the 8:00 mark with the car in the wrong power band lol.

Watch it in HD and turn up your speakers!

Hmm, I know a nice twisty mountain type road around here I should try this mount on...

Bah, just realized I was the last one to post here. Sorry about the double post.

Custom 3" (all the way back from the turbo with cat) 304 stainless steel I welded up with baby Bosozoku style

couple vids where its somewhat clear what it sounds like.... sounds very cool in person.

Finally got a video of the new exhaust on the Jeep. Everything is the same up to the cat, and after is a Thrush Welded muffler with a stock tailpipe section.

Hmm, I now need go get a video of my Camaro. Longtube headers and pretty much straight pipes make her sound like a sprint cup stock car.

Time to bring this thread back from the dead!

Finally got around to getting a video of my car's exhaust....

Haha ya I know. Damn IPhone 4 doesnt like sitting on it's side like that on a not so smooth surface.

The sound of exhaust coming from any vehicle depends on the person who is driving. If the person driving is a newbie, sound won't be good when he start and apply gears. So,it would be good for newbie to train driving and make reduce the sound of exhaust.

Seriously dude  !!

2001 Z/28, Hooker headers, off road y-pipe, Borla with no plate. 2-3 weeks car will have big cam and more goodies, will update at that time.
