Your dream starting grid on GT5

Skyline joke - Old and Unnecessary đź‘Ž

Old, yes, Unnecessary? Maybe, that doesn't make it any less true though.

Hey now I like my Skylines to :)

As do I, I just don't think we need 50 of them like from previous games. Its time to get over the obsession and let some other cars in that deserve some recognition. I decent dose of them is ok, but its been overdone in the past.

Plus there are already 11 confirmed Skylines, not counting the race cars as they're different, which is far more than any other single car.

Old, yes, Unnecessary? Maybe, that doesn't make it any less true though.

So you somehow already know that 50 skylines are going to be in GT5 how?
Also, it is unnecessary and pathetic because its the same damn excuse people use for not seeing their cars in the game. Its all the same, people blame the skylines for no Koeniggseggs, no current V8 Supercars, no Maserati's (which has confirmed not true).

As do I, I just don't think we need 50 of them like from previous games. Its time to get over the obsession and let some other cars in that deserve some recognition. I decent dose of them is ok, but its been overdone in the past

Clearly, no research has been put fourth in this because if people actually looked, there has actually only been less then 50 in the previous games, which were:

GT1: 13

GT2: 27

GT3: 7

GT4: 46
(funny enough, the number in GT4 includes the skylines from the previous games)

So the "50 Skylines" excuse is old, unreasearched and unnecessary. It might only four digits off from 50 but its not 50 of them, now is it?

Anyone that wants to continue with this issue with me, then do it via PM.

oh yeah the cars, damn I forgot about that, ha ha!

can't really be bothered to search around for loads of cars but if I'm in a Honda NSX with Racing R3 tyres on I'll be happy.
Although I would like a 458 italia on the grid but it will be restricted to Sports S1 tyres.

Wait, total rethink on the calendar.

race 1 Indianapolis 30 laps
race 2 Laguna seca 5 laps
race 3 Suzuka 60 laps
race 4 Twin ring Motegi 10 laps
race 5 Tsukuba 50 laps
race 6 Brands Hatch (if in the game) 2 hours
race? 7 Top Gear test track time trial
race 8 Spa (if in the game) 1 hour
race 9 Monza (if in the game) 4 laps
race 10 nurburgring 6 hours
final race Monaco (if done properly) 24 hours

Basically races ranging from endurance to quick sprints
to putting in a quick lap to being consistent
to battling traffic on short thin circuits

cars rethink
12 cars using Racing tyres
4-8 cars using sport or normal tyres.(depends on amount allowed)

preferably double this amount but with me still sitting comfortably in Honda NSX:)đź‘Ť.

Double posting is NOT cool here, VRracingfan. Here at GTP we look down on double posters, if you want to say something use the "Edit" button. It's at the bottom right corner of each of your posts.

Anyone that wants to continue with this issue with me, then do it via PM.
why?
Because, having to deal with all these posts saying something along the lines of, "I'm uber-pissed off because of the huge amount of Skylines taking up room in the game!" clog up this thread with off-topic rants and responses.

On-topic:

1-8: European and U.S. cars
9-16: Japanese cars
Rules:
N- and S-tyres only
500hp limit
Cars must weigh more than 1 ton - so you can't bring your hyper-tuned Lotus Elise :sly: or any Japanese equivalents, e.g. the Tommy Kaira ZZ-S, or the ZZ-II.

Tracks:
Suzuka (10 laps)
Fuji '05 (as the 80's and 90's layouts don't exist any more) (10 laps)
Tsukuba (20 laps)

Dubai Autodrome (10 laps)

Monaco (fingers crossed) (15 laps)
Indianapolis (10 laps)

Daytona Road Course (10 laps)

Prizes:
1st: 30,000 for each race
2nd-16th: Decreases by 2,000 for each driver, e.g. 2nd would get 28,000, 5th would get 22,000, 14th would get 4,000.
Prize car: BGP 001 (crossing fingers), or if it's not available a Bugatti Veyron.

Bumpin' again:

Pod Cup

License reqiured (for A-spec): A-License

I really like this thread :D

All men play on ten: When 12 are too heavy and 8 are too few, V10 for real!

I just counted and it is in excess of 50 (Did you forget the Nismo, Mine's & Blitz?).

And for the record, I used "GTPlanet Game Guides NA Car List."

I sincerely hope there's a whole lot of Mustang, Vette & 911 variants in the next game...

How about a simple feature in GT Mode that allows you to do this thread?

Pick the track, number of laps, and starting grid.

So simple, and it would end the incredibly difficult hunt for competitive races longer than 2 laps in Gran Turismo.

Starting Grid
Any GT race cars that have a HP rating from 450 BHP to 500 BHP. maximum # of cars a tem may enter: 2. Maximum number of cars on track: 100 (A guy can dream right :)
Tracks
Nurburgring (full track)

Length
4 drivers switching every 6 hours for 6 days

I would also suggest this. In Juiced 2, you could race against your own cars in its equivalent of arcade mode. I also made videos in GT Pro Series when I was racing against my ghost taking great care not to drive through it, to make it look like a competitive 2-player race. In GT5 you should be allowed to race against a solid ghost of a previous lap, not one you could drive through.

  • Any Pescarolo(s)

Prize car:

A-spec: GT-One Road Car '99
B-spec: Mercedes CLR '99

(These aren't in game, but that's for ideas, looking that a simliar idea in GT4 forum includes those not in that game đź’ˇ)

One which is a fun, equal playing, without slow-boats and rocketships, not too easy and not too hard and without the awful jaggie of standards.

A realistic Le Mans GT class grid would do just fine for me. Make the RM'ed Ford GTs, F430s, ehem..."RUF"s (in lieu of the Porsche 911), Corvettes and DB9s look and feel like their real world racing counterparts (F430GT, RUF RSR, C6.R, DBR9). It would be soooooo sweet and entertaining.
