Lucky Lucky!!!!! I was crying about how I missed Snow Patrol, when they came to the pitiful town of Portland, Oregon, just few weeks ago.

Today, my coworker informs me that they will be performing at some "Taste of Oregon(could've been Portland)" festival at the Waterfront Park! I am definitely going this time, I am very excited. 👍👍

Edit: Some info on the concert, if anybody in the area is interested. I just looked through their site, and it's actually called "Bite of Oregon". $7 gets you in, concert is free. Sounds like food should be great, right? :dopey:

the Green Day gig at Milton Keynes was the best gig ever!!! whats even better than that, I was there!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Green Day's cool. I would love to see them sometime.

my best concert experience was in june this year, on the NovaRock-festival in Austria, where i saw:
Apocalyptica
Metallica
Opeth
Guns 'n' Roses
Queens of the Stoneage
Bloodhound Gang

totally awesome shows, the best where Apocalyptica and Metallica i think, but the rest was also very niceeeeeeeeeeeee 👍

I'm afraid this one is going to be the "more", not "my favorite concert experience". I was supposed to see Snow Patrol tomorrow at the "Bite of Oregon" event in Portland tomorrow, but thanks to the terrorists screwing up the air systems, they will not be able to make it to Portland tomorrow. :(

I just went to Alice Cooper at the Grove at Anaheim last night, and it was simply incredible. We managed to get a place no more than 10 or 20 feet away from the stage, and could see every detail on the performers. The opening band was a Black Metal band (literally), and the bassist was just nuts. However, they were a little too loud for such a small venue. Alice Cooper, however, was perfect. He mainly played classics for 2 hours straight, with the exception of one or two songs from his new album. He brought the full show as well, swords, money, the guillotine, fake heads spurting blood, frankensteins, everything you've heard about Alice Cooper shows. All in all, best $40 I've ever spent. :sly:

The best concert out of the three that I've been to was the Bachman-Cummings event in May.
Very nice sound (Coulda been a little bit louder, but very clear), excellent lighting, and some of the best seats in the house. They played all the best songs, did two encores. As a bonus, I got in free!

Now... If only I had a few hundred bucks to burn, the Rolling Stones (w/ opening by Van Morrison) and The Who are coming close by in autumn.

I went to a triple-header last weekend at the Oregon State Fair. Cake, Violent Femmes and The Decemberists. Decemberists are an up and coming band, who are actually from Portland, Oregon. They were fantastic. Kind of reminded me of Barenaked Ladies.

Next up was Violent Femmes. I didn't know anything about them, but a couple of hit songs they had. They put on a very enjoyable show. Only thing that bugged me was that the lead singer had wifebeater and a cargo pants on, like he went out to 7-11 for cigarettes or something. Got involved in the near-fight, shoving match too. This kid on something, he started ramming into people, trying to start a mosh pit. Me and couple of my buddies, we are absolutely not anykind of a-h*les, but we lost our patience with him repeatedly bouncing into our backs. In the end, he was seeing the stars and his face probably was a bit sore. :sly:

Cake, now their show was way too short. I was pretty impressed with the way they interacted with the crowds, but I didn't realize how much I liked this band until I was going, I hope they play this and I hope they play that! Great band, and would've been even greater, if they played that cover of "I Will Survive". :guilty: :D

Steve Miller Band is performing this Sunday at the same State Fair. He is one of my favorite rocker, but I don't feel like going this weekend. Maybe I'll go. Maybe not. :dopey:

I'm going to Korn concert tomorrow night...I've never seen them before, so I'm expecting a good performance.

They sing Blind or/and Freak on a Leash and I'm a happy camper :)

Ciao!

I got Rise Against at Birmingham Carling Academy on Sunday, looking forward to it.

As for best concert, Taste of Chaos 2005, ok so it was practially full of emo bands, but they can put on a good perfomance! There present was Reggie and the Full Effects, Rise Against, Story of the Year, Killswitch Engage, The Used (:yuck:!) and Funeral for a Friend.

I was close to passing out during Killswitch, too, much, moshing..

My best - and thus far only, bar local gigs - concert was Donington Download 2006. Over 100 bands were there, on 3 stages, over 3 days. The best of the bunch? Cradle of Filth put on a good show, as did Trivium, but the best band of the weekend were Metallica, by far.

Trivium is great, i saw them at the NovaRock-festival in June in Austria, same as Metallica.........great performance from both bands 👍

Sounds like a Burnout 3 soundtrack reunion. Half of those bands have songs on it. :)

The Rise Against concert mentioned earlier was awesome, great performance by them and 'A Whilhelm Scream', managed to get A.W.S's autographs at the end of it all. :)

Oh and the drummer gave Laura a peck on the cheek. :grumpy:

The best show i've ever been to was just the other night.

Headliner Dragonforce and two opening bands, Horse the Band, and All That Remains.

I went to the show after hearing Horse the Band's music over the internet, didn't like it too much so i wasnt expecting much from them.. They were the first opening band and after seeing the first few songs live i figured they werent too bad after all. They're really awesome on stage.

And then they played a song that now has my vote as the song that contains the best breakdown, ever. I had never heard the song before so it made it just that much more amazing to hear it for the first time, in full force, in person. The crowd went NUTS. And if i actually liked moshing, or knew how to hardcore dance, i would have been going nuts too... But it definitely got my adrenaline pumping.. So on top of their awesome onstage presence and their sheer musical talent and that AWESOME breakdown, i have a new found respect for them.. In case you want to know, the song is "The Black Hole" by "Horse the Band". Best breakdown ever.

Anywho, next up was all that remains, a band that i actually liked before seeing them live for the first time. They had a good light show and some small fog effects but their onstage presence wasnt very good. Nor was the vocalist.. Live atleast.

And then came DRAGONFORCE. These guys are the *masters* of good shows. TONS of light effects, fog, etc.. Fantastic onstage presence, great music, great crowd participation, the BEST guitarists i have ever SEEN. I wasnt too amazed by them at first considering i've seen their guitar skills on many occasions (in music videos), until they had played a 2 hour long set and the guitarists werent even fazed, even though every dragonforce song is basically vocals over a very long riff...

Definitely *the* best show ever. Dragonforce made me feel like i was in the 80s, back when they had awesome concerts all the time with lots of lasers and fog etc... Unlike today.

They dont do things like they used to, thats for sure..

But if you guys haven't checked out either of these three bands, i highly highly suggest dragonforce..

Great stuff. Really explains why for 5 straight shows in a row on their tour they were sold out... :)

on sept 12 2006 (last week) me my dad and my dads friend and his son went to see jeff beck (guitar legend) in concert at the starland ballroom in new jersey. i never really listend to him but my dad loves him. boy for being 63 he rocked the ****ing place all night. this place was like a bar / club and it was packed!! boy it was amazing

I'm going to see Jack Johnson in concert tomorrow....... in dumping rain!

I could use an advice or two here. :D This is going to be my first outdoor concert, and I was wondering what I should bring to the show. I shopped earlier for raincoat/weather-resistant jackets, but couldn't find anything good. I did pick up one of those 99 cents ponchos at Target though, just in case. Umbrellas are not allowed.

Another thing I was wondering, I'm kind of older now(34), so I was just gonna hang in the back, sit on a towel or something, since this amphitheater is like a big grass field. Any way, any place, or any technique to sit and watch the show? In the rain? Probably a tall order. :D

It just about never rains during the summer around here, so I just can't believe my luck. My first outdoor concert..... damn it!

my best experience, well i saw, one concert when i was little i dont remember, then when i was older i saw stained and Godsmack in 02, then last concert i saw was MSI. i met the guitarist, then i saw before that She wants revenge and my ex friend got me back stage to meet teh band. its cool

I forgot all about this thread. It was my first outdoor concert, it was Jack Johnson, and it was amazing. It was the best concert I've attended, by far.

And regarding the rain, a miracle happened. While waiting in the car, for the gates to open, it was dumping rain. Maybe the most water I've ever seen dump from the sky, I couldn't even see outside.

Then by the time everybody starts lining up, it just stopped! You can hear the band rehearsal on the loudspeaker(very awesome), no rain, good times.

During the show, Jack is joking about the rain, please god don't let it rain during the show, it doesn't rain. But just as we get back into the car after the show........... It was just PERFECT timing.

I haven't been able to make it to any shows this summer. I had a chance to go to the Steve Miller show, but I missed that one. Again. The Killers, Def Leppard/Poison/Cheap Trick, those guys didn't make it to Oregon. Oh, well.

Anybody catch any good show this summer? Looking forward to any?
