A lot of you dislike the Hong Kong track. Actually, I find it as a good test track for braking, handling, and acceleration. I practiced it recently with the 2005 Ford Mustang GT. There is actually a rhythm with this track. At one point, you're enjoying the city lights of Hong Kong, when all of a sudden... here comes a corner! Overtaking and defending your position can be tough. Remember, I got LAPPED for the first time in a GT game with this track. This track is not easy. If you have great acceleration, precise handling, and decent top speed, this track shouldn't be a challenge.

My faves include: Nurburgring, Le mans, Both Paris tracks and Citta D'aria. 👍

Tracks i despise: Seoul, Begginer course, El capitan, Twin Ring Motegi full course, Fuji 2005 & GT. :yuck:

Oh, and i really miss Grindelwald. :guilty:

Trial Mountain has always been my favorite GT track since GT1. Deep Forest and Grand Valley are also great "old-school" tracks, though I'm still working on re-learning the middle section of Grand Valley in GT4. My favorite of the new tracks would have to be El Capitan.

Some courses are good for certain cars. Motorland, Autumn Ring and Opera Paris are a blast in slower cars, while Laguna Seca and Midfield are much more fun in powerful rides.

Some courses I don't care much for:

- New York - This track just isn't fun. The north section isn't bad, though it could use a little more variety instead of just 90* turn after 90* turn, but the long straights kill this course, especially for racing. It's hard to get a good competitive race with the "fast-on-straights-slow-on-turns" AI.

- Seoul - What the hell were they thinking? "Hey, let's take New York and remove the only halfway interesting section of the track!" :dunce: This track is the worst in the game.

- George V Paris - I'll be honest, I suck at this track. It's actually a pretty cool course, but it's a bit tight and slow for my taste. I'll probably like it better after trying some different cars on it, though.

- Fuji 2005 - The layout isn't bad, but it's an ugly-looking track with all the asphalt runoff, and it can be a little hard to judge braking points. But the one thing that really pissed me off is that I didn't realize there were two versions of the 2005 track until I followed the road markings through the chicane at the end of the backstretch like I had always done before, only to watch the rest of the field blow right through them. Only then did I figure out that "Fuji 2005 GT" means "Follow the painted lines that are the only things marking out the course except in this one spot over here where you just drive through 'em...". :ouch:

FAVOURITE:
The ring and Circuit De la Sarthe cause I have mastered them at crazy speeds. Also infineon because it is just a really well designed track.

LEAST FAVOURITE:
Definitely Opera Paris...way to technical. And Chamonix....ever since that super licence test I have hated it...too long and not much variation..just hairpin after hairpin.

Favourites:
Nurburg - takes some learning - but bumpy, lots of weird cambers. The kind of circuit where you actually need some skill to get a decent time, rather than just throwing a car with stupid HP at it.

Seattle - always a favourite since GT2. Great favourite for taking a 'cuda round with all the aids off and power sliding round the corners. Photo mode provides some great windows desktops hehe

Citti d'Amalfi - love it - mixture of tight narrow streets and some fast sweeping corners.

Trial Mountain (Reverse) - dunno why I like it backwards better - just seems to flow better.

Grand Canyon - yeah I know.. its a right git - but, like Chamonix and the Ice Arena really does show how important smooth and "lead boot free" driving is when rallying. The other rally courses are waaaay to wide to be realistic; (Swiss Alps for example). Love taking the Nissan 240RG Rally Car round this course.

I also agree that Gridenwald from GT2 should have been included. In addition, why did PD remove the jumps from Autumn Ring and Gran Valley East? They were there in GT1 - but removed from subsequent versions. Shame that - used to love watching the replays after taking a 67 Chevy StingRay over those with original suspension heheh.

Least Favourites:
Any Oval Course. Crap. Pointless. Fair enough have them for testing etc, but boring as hell for proper races. Always B-spec em.

New York and or Seoul. Boring - nothing more than drag strips really.

Finally - I have a love / hate relationship with Laguna Seca. I always find it very difficult to read the corners, but this of course means that when I DO get it right, it's that much sweeter!!

Favourite:

Nurburgring
Suzuka
Autmun Ring
Chamonix

Dislike;

test Course
Beginner COurse
Tsukuba

I love the Nürburgring Nordschliefe, that is the reason I went out and bought a PS2 and GT4 :D
When I first found out that the Nürburgring Nordschliefe was going to be in GT4, I went out and bought PGR2 for the XBOX. I realize that the GT4 presentation of the 'Ring is much better, but PRG2 provided me with some fun as well.

The only tracks that I really dislike in GT4 are Autumn Ring Mini and those forgettable ones in the Beginner's Park section. Finding the proper braking points at first three full turns at Fuji 2005 is challenging, but I managed some good lap times in the Formula GT Championship by using my peripheral vision on distant landmarks: swale in mountain range for hard right, 4th window on building for sweeping left, and tower for hard left. Other turns are more visual and not all that difficult to negotiate.

My favourites:

#1 Nurburgring Nordschleife: It's long, It's mean, It's fast, It's real. Keep improving times and a challenge to tune each car for it.

#2 Deep forest: Because I rule this track! Beat the LMR cars with my Alfa 155 race car.

#3 El Capitan: Enough corners to compete with far better cars, some delightful difficult blind corners, and the straight just so long that they can catch up (It's so boring to win by many seconds per lap).

#4 Tokyo: My favourite fast-track. F1/R8/Bentley/Sauber Merc. I fly!

#5 Laguna Seca: The big hairpin, the corkscrew, the last turn c",)

Bottom drawer:

#1 Test track and super spedway: What's the challenge? Once you got a faster car, you win - or you're a crappy driver.

#2 Fuji - find It boring - mechanical driving.

Favourites
Nurb, Suzuka, Deep Forest, Trial Mt, Le Mans. :sly:

Most hated
Motegi (all of them), Operas Paris & Tsukaba- How I'm gonna a-spec the 9hr enduro on this dam track I don't know! :nervous: = :scared: = :ill:

My favourite track is Midfield, I love taking the high speed chicane flat out, followed by George V, HSR, Fuji 80's, and the tarmac rally tracks.

I hate the dirt and snow tracks, NY, HK and Opera. Those city tacks have no decent rythym.

I like the Ring but I'm not really that good at it yet. Laguna Seca is Ok too, the corkscrew is fun but I really hate the last corner.
I really miss Grindenwald and Red Rock Valley.

I've been dying for GT4 to finally be released so I could ask this question:

Does Trial Mountain seem wider?

All tracks are wider in GT4. Your probably the 1st to ever mention how wide a track is on GT4 fourm. I noticed it as soon as I race my very 1st race. My favorites are Nürburgring Nordschliefe because I think this it the ultimate test track for all cars. If your car can't keep up or handle the road and curves, then you should 2nd guess that car. Anytime I want to see what a car can do, I take it there. It's full of bumps and curves. The 2nd favorite of mine is Tokyo 246. This has been a favorite since GT3. I guess it's only because it was a new track in GT3. I know both track like my house with the lights out. 👍

Excuse me!!!!!! You must have never visited N.Y, I think this track is one of the hottes additions. And I'm sure a real New Yorker who played this game can agree. There's nothing like taking your favorite car and zooming it down Broadway and 7th Ave. And the background is very much identical to how it really looks. I work on Broadway and every day now, I look around for things they missed and daydream about comming around Columbus Circle down Broadway full speed. Can't do it in real life, so why not in a game. 👍

My fav track would have to be nordschieif cuz of all the varying corners, so much fun to drive round.

I h8 fuji speedway 2005 so much!!! i dunno y but i just do its so dam annoying!!!

Favorites: Deep Forest, fast, slightly banked corners through the middle.
Costa Di Almafi(sp?), love those hairpins.
Hate:Suzuka, all 3 of them, and in reverse.
Chamoix, the snow tires just dont work on tarmac

My personal favorite is Suzuka. Coming in a close second is Laguna Seca. Suzuka is near and dear to my heart thanks to EA Sports F1 games. GT4 did a GREAT job modeling the track, and they made the Spoon Corner easier to drive through cleanly.

Honorable mention goes to Nordschleife and Cote D'Azur.

We need more F1 tracks!!!

Tracks I hate:
Pretty much any of the fictional tracks with the exception of Apricot Hill. The city tracks are OK but my stupid B-spec driver always crashes in New York.

Like:
The Nurb.
Apricot Hill.
Tsukuba.
Seattle.
Midfield.
Trial Mountain.

Dislike:
de la Sarthe. (both of them)
George V Paris.
Citta da Aria.
Any oval track.
All Motegi tracks. < very boring indeed.
Beginner Course.
Motorland.
New York.
Seoul. < ditto.
Laguna Seca.

And whatever happened to RRV? I loved that track.

I like Infineon, Nurburgring, Cote 'd Azur, Laguna Seca, both Sarthe tracks, and the Motegi oval.

The tracks I can't stand include the new Fuji Speedway and most of the created tracks and city tracks.

Androoos
The city tracks are OK but my stupid B-spec driver always crashes in New York.

Would that be the 90 degree right after the hairpin at the end of the main straight? My B-spec driver nearly always hits the wall there as well - even on "1". :grumpy: As does the AI most of the time.

Rallying is fun. It's about anything-goes racing as you're in opposite lock (when you're sideways), trying to clear corners and keep your opponent from seeing your headlights to the finish line.

Bit of a track disappointment was Suzuka West Course. I've raced it before in "Le Mans 24 Hours," but you cannot B-Spec Suzuka West, can't even run a rally here (since it's for two cars), it's more like a disappointment for it not to be raced, even in one-on-one battles. You can do Family Cup races here (as I just found out), but I would have liked to see this track utilized. Almost every track in a GT game should be utilized. If it's in the game, there's almost no excuse to not be able to race it. Hell, this would have been a tough configuration to race on. It would be the equivalent of Motegi's East course in respect of an alternative configuration that's every bit as challenging as its full circuit.

what's your guys (that have played) most and least favorite tracks?

i absolutely despise Hong Kong...the track itself is nice, but the eye candy in the mainstreets and what not make it difficult to discern where the corner is and how fast it's coming up...

there are 2 tracks that are tied for 1st in my book...Citta d'Aria and Trial Mountain. Citta is just amazing course...very tight and very picturesque. it really makes me feel like i'm racing down the streets of some little Italian town. Trial Mountain, I have enjoyed since GT2 (never played GT1) and find it a fun venue in general...dunno why...it's not exactly the most visually appealing or anything, and doesn't have any ultra low speed corners in conjunction with high speed corners...just fun :) i miss the Rome track in GT2 (not the short one and not Rome Night either)...wish that made it back into GT4

Fuji 2005 GT has to be the worst, and The one ring has to be the best, having lived out in the country and driven on roads just like that everyday for about ten years, i really appreaciate it.

Reminds me of home <sniff>
