Cool thread this, nice to see other people's rigs. And guys please stop arguing, your cluttering the thread. Not being rude or anything, i just find it a little depressing..

I think everyone should just leave TVR FAN alone, stop being fags.

 not mine but I thought I'd post it here.

I'm sorry, i just think it would be nice to actually see other people's rigs, rather than excuses why they haven't posted them. Especially since it's his thread.

Some of my best friends are fags. We'll thank you to stop using that word as a derogatory comment. Now.

Not much of a gaming PC.

Where's the rest of it? A slogan for a Burger King commercial campaign that hit the 80's strong in the US, "Where's the beef?" comes to mind. :)

Is the CPU in the keyboard?

Nope, in the screen. thats where everything in that PC resides, the monitor is much thicker than it looks in the photo.

Well, heres mine in case anyones interested:

Terrible photos, i know

Wow, those monitors can run at more than 800x600! :dopey:

Sorry, it's just we have them at school, and the ict department incist that they mustn't have a higher res than that. Waste of a good monitor really ...

That certainly makes a lot of sense - Sounds like your IT "admins" needs a good solid whack on the head :-)

Looks more like private space heaters to me.:dopey:
Let's just say that even during winter, there's no real good excuse for turning on the heaters in the office ;)

Yes indeed. We have those monitors, and these 15 inch CRTs. The CRTs are all running on 800x600, apart from 2 that are running on 1024x768 ...

What really annoys me, is that ICT staff get higher screen resolutions, so their eyes aren't being fried, even though ours are.

You school can afford monitors like that? Mine only has crappy 10 year old CRTs. Yes, i run my monitor at 1280 by 1024

Yeah, although its a little hollow ...

We got some ICT and Maths status thing, so the government gave us a grant for stuff. You can tell they're spending it wisely - a 42 inch plasma tv has been put up in the cafeterior, and hasn't even been turned on yet.

Flerbizky
Not much to say - A little messy but at least it's clean ;)

Another person causing a big powerbill for themself lol, anyway I see your Cat wanted to have his or her photo taken.

I guess it's my turn, get ready for the experience that is "THE TOUR OF MY PC AREA!"

I have decided to make a monster post as I'm bored. Sorry.

Right, lets get the tour under way, oh lucky few...

We start with an over all look at my pc area, note how messy it is. Well ignore that, I'm getting a new MASSIVE desk in a few days, so meh, I'll have a huge tidy then. And YES, I regret painting my room that colour.

Lets get into detail eh eh! So now, what's this. Well first the speakers, the black ones are Tannoy 605's (from the early/ mid 90's I believe), and the ones below that are a pair of Warf e50's, from about ohhh '78. Those arn't in use anymore though, Ill be selling them, and getting some speaker stands for the Tannoys. They make a real noise, and sound beautiful.

The monitor is a 17" Samsung SyncMaster 753dfx, and yes that is a Storm Trooper 'tater head. The keyboard and mouse are a logitech wireless combo, very nice to use indeed.

You can just about make out my headphones (Sony Mdr-v500's), and xbox 360 pad I use for my pc, and an RGB scart box (for my ps2 and xbox). Also a little USB light thingy I got free with pc zone. Weee.

Moving along...

The heart of it all, my pc. That's a thermaltake xaser 3 case, ugly and weighs about as much as a small car, but keeps everything Uber cool. Has a crap load of fans, though I had to remove some so the cpu cooler would fit, it's a beast
http://www.coolermaster.com/index.p...p_serial=KHC-V81&other_title=+KHC-V81+Hyper 6
Specs:

3000 64 athlon venice core (over clocked by 200 mhz)
1024 mb ram (corsiar ddr400)
ASROCK dual sata 2 mobo
Sonic Xplosion sound card
Radeon 9800 pro
HDDS: 80 gig 7200 2mb and 180 gig 7200 8mb
DVD RW + DVD Rom

Sat on my pc charging is my phone, the Orange Spv M500, a nice if totally impractical phone.

You can also see my router, a cheap thingy, though does the trick, and has full wireless 54g.

Your probably thinking "sweet god, your carpet is covered in crap", well it's just some recent bread crumbs, I've been eating alot of french bread recently.

Right, next port of call, the TV. Sitting next to my pc monitor, it means I don't much room, hence new uber desk soon. It's a Sony Trinitron...thing. 21" screen, has RGB, and a nice picture, though I lost the remote somewhere in this mess. I use it mainly for playing console games, and streaming videos from my pc via the xbox.

Note the sad looking ariel on the TV. Worst ariel ever.

Some speakers again, and behind the speakers lives an old technics tuner.

Frank Zappa, he's da man!

And last but by no means least, my Xbox and stereo.

The xbox is fully modded and set up to share the network my pc is on, so things can be streamed etc. Very handy indeed, especially as it means I don't have to use the crap TV out of the vid card, but can use the RGB output of the xbox.

And the stereo, well that's hooked up to just about everything, and sounds rather loverly. No point really describing it in detail.

And this concludes the tour, hope you uhhh enjoyed it.

Well - Don't ask where it came from. Quite a mystery. It was supposed to have been used for some video surveillance which never happened. It's quite cool for a crappy 17" as it has SVHS, Composite, and some pro-kinda input / passthru.. That is, it could've been cool if it didn't have a response time in the 19 minutes range..

Yo code, can you tell me how to hook and mod your Xbox to your PC this weekend? cause my Xbox should be comen in this weekend, and i would love to play it on my PC monitor.

My xbox only streams files stored on my pcs hard drive, it can not, for example allow you to play Battlefield 2 on your pc, and stream the image via your xbox on to your TV. To do that you need some form of TV out, some cards have em built on (my 9800 does, but the quality is crap). In short, I use my xbox as a games machine and media center.

Anyway, it's well worth modding, there's so much you can do with it.
This website should help you:
http://www.xbox-scene.com/

And then it's just a case of finding a mod chip, I use an Xecuter 2. Do abit of searching, and you can find software that auto instals lots of cool stuff on to the xbox after you have done the hardware change. As I said, there's LOADS of guides availible online to help you. be aware though, do this, and it's no xbox live for you.

Networking is easy, I set the xbox's IP to the system used, and then plug it in to the router.

Update:

Mobo: ASUS K8V-X
*New* Video Card: ATI Radeon X800GTO 256mb *New*
Sound: Onboard
LAN: Onboard
Speakers: Logitech X-620
Monitor: 19" KDS XF-9e
