Hmm, the chances of Lewis agreeing to that? I didn't even have make this post...quite obviously not going to happen in the foreseeable future, Hamilton will only leave McLaren if McLaren don't sign him.
I doubt that Lewis would be afraid of Kimi either, if thats where this rumour is growing from. I expect he will look forward to the challenge and chance to prove he is better in equal machinery.

If he does leave though, as unlikely as it is, it says a lot about his mindset with teammates and how he has viewed Heikki...

Well, I picked up on it over at the Autosport forums, and for once I traced it back to the source: an Anthony Hamilton Twitter page that had pretty much been made overnight. Yet over at Autosport, half of them are absolutely convinced that it's going to happen, and the other half are totally sure it already has.

Stupid Rumour of the Month: Hamilton and Button to swap places.

That's an absolutely ridiculous rumor IMO  Hamilton is Mclaren's baby, and I really doubht Hammy want's to leave one of, if not the strongest teams in F1.

I saw MegaFon branding on the Renault's nose cone in Suzuka. It was only tiny, but I swear it wasn't there before the race. It certainly wasn't there before Singapore. The reason I'm saying this is because MegaFon is suspected to be GP2 starlet Vitaly Petrov's backer, though the exact source of his money is somewhat hazy.

I know I tipped Petrov for Campos, but the team is said to be working with Telefonicia as title sponsor, and if MegaFon sponsors Petrov, I doubt either be too keen on having another telecom copany on-board, even if they are based at opposite ends of the continent. It could be that MegaFon are getting their foot in the door early either as title sponsor or to get Petrov a race seat (pay drivers may be looked down upon, but Renault need currency, and quickly); they're the first new sponsor Renault have picked up since ING fell off.

It'd be interesting if Renault get both Kubica and Petrov, amking the team the East European All-Stars.

Aaah!!! That would be fantastic to see Petrov and Kubica as team mate!!! Don't care which team but that will be fantastic!!!

They're a bit like Ferrari in 1995. They were a midfield team with potential, but they just needed a sharper driver to spearhead their cahrge. They got Schumacher and look how their fortunes changed. If Toyota could somehow land Raikkonen, they could really go places.

Ah, but Schumacher also brought people like Brawn with him at the same time, Toyota would only be getting Kimi....

Rubens would be a better driver for Toyota... his skill in developing and setting up the car would also drive the team forwards...

I wonder - who learnt from who here - did Rubens learn from Schumacher - or the other way around? (I suspect Rubens learnt from Schumacher)

I think both learnt from each other, Rubens was a good driver before he joined Ferrari already and he was reportedly a great car developer long before. Its not really something you learn, more something you have a knack for it seems, because I've heard many words of praise for Rubens' ability to know exactly where to go with setup and avoid following the track.

Rubens would be good at a lot of teams, but I'd like to see him bring Williams back to be honest.

I think Toyota as a team are good enough already, they just need a better lead driver. They aren't like 1995 Ferrari, who had problems throughout their organisation. A good development driver with a pile of experience wouldn't be too wrong though, but I think Kimi and Toyota may be the ticket, I somewhat doubt whether Kimi sees Toyota as a competitive team though...

Raikkonen to ...

... Red Bull?

Just to back up what ludes said:

crash,net

Ex-F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen could be set for a surprise switch to Red Bull Racing in 2010, it has been rumoured – as the Finn’s discussions with former employers McLaren-Mercedes appear to have hit deadlock over his financial demands, whilst Mark Webber’s continuing allegiance to his disgraced manager Flavio Briatore has reportedly made him unpopular with RBR top brass.

Even prior to the announcement by Ferrari last week that finally confirmed the worst-kept secret in the F1 paddock – that Fernando Alonso will jump ship from Renault to the Scuderia next season on a three-year deal – it had been speculated that Raikkonen was in advanced talks with McLaren, with whom he competed in the top flight from 2002 until 2006, triumphing eight times along the way and only narrowly missing out on the drivers’ crown in 2003 and 2005.

However, according to German magazine Sport Bild, the salary requirements being made by Raikkonen’s management team have caused McLaren to think again – with the 18-time grand prix-winner having received a substantial pay-off from Ferrari for terminating his ongoing contract a year early, and understood to be seeking in the region of €25 million for 2010, a sum the Woking-based outfit is unwilling to pay.

The 30-year-old has also been linked with both Toyota and Renault for next season – with the former openly admitting it would love to snap Raikkonen up [see separate story – click here] – and now, most intriguingly of all, with Red Bull, where 2009 incumbents Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber ostensibly have firm agreements in-place for 2010.

However, it is understood that Webber’s unwillingness to end his collaboration with Briatore – one of the leading architects of the ‘Singapore-gate’ race-fixing scandal that has rocked F1 of late, and for which the Italian was banned indefinitely from all aspects of FIA-sanctioned competition, driver management included – has not gone down well at the energy drinks-backed outfit, with suggestions that the German Grand Prix winner could be side-shifted across to sister team Scuderia Toro Rosso to make way for Raikkonen.

Adding to the credibility of the latest rumours, Vettel and Raikkonen are reputedly good friends away from the race track, the latter’s manager Steve Robertson has cryptically revealed that ‘we are negotiating even with teams that everybody thinks have no vacancies’ and the Espoo native’s well-documented party-loving lifestyle and high profile would doubtless fit in well at the team credited with putting the fun back into F1 – and one that seemingly has the necessary backing behind it to meet his financial desires.

I thought Raikkonen was talking about WRC at one point. He didn't do to bad when he did race it, until the crash, but I think he should just go to WRC. Or NASCAR :dopey:, it seems to be a trend now anyway.

I hope Tony Stewart(high hopes indeed) and Danica Patrick drive for USGP, that would be their best bet to put American Drivers(Popular American Drivers) into F1 and have them be competitive.

Yusss!! Kubica to Renault!!! Now I would like to see Petrov as his team mate but I think that wouldn't happen...

Brazilian television network Globo is reporting Rubens Barrichello has signed for Williams, paving the way for Nico Rosberg to switch places. Reports say that the team will use Cosworth engines for next season as well; to my mind, that dispels the rumour that they're three or four seconds a lap too slow. I seriously doubt Sir Frank would put himself in a position where an engine that bad was the only thing on offer - he's too smart for that - so while it might be a little down on power, it's not going to be a disaster.

However, this is all unofficial; nothing is going to be annouced until the championship battle is over to allow Barrichello to concetrate on the title fight.

I thought I said something about this, but the message seems to have gone walkabout: Patrick isn't competitive. Her worst results have been on road and street circuits. I remember seeing her in action at Surfers' Paradise last year, and it was pretty evident that she just gave up halfway through. We don't need someone like that in Formula One, and besides, she shot the suggestion down almost as soon as it was floated. She's made it pretty clear that she doesn't want to be in Formula One. As for Tony Stewart, he's nearly forty years old when most of the new drivers have only just turned twenty. And there is a huge difference between driving a NASCAR and driving a Formula One car. Signing either Stewart or Patrick would be a mistake; signing both would be a disaster.

If Raikkonen moves to Toyota, I think the better option for Toyota would be to keep Glock and let Trulli move to Lotus. Glock has yet to reach his best, and believe me, if he gets a good car, he will kick ass. Trulli, as much as I am a fan of him, would be more of help getting Lotus a solid base of experience in the races.

Well I just got some reports from UOL that Senna will be testing soon for Renault, now this should be interesting cause Lucas de Grassi is there as well, showdown for the seat I guess??? Anyways, one thing is certain, Renault is messed up cause they don't have a big partnership any more everybody left and the only thing good about Brunno moving into a team is that he is been backed up by big Brazilian Companies and one of them rumored to be Petrobras, the largest Oil Company in Brazil and probably in the world. You know Force India showed really good potential as well, and I see Trulli moving towards them, they need a good setup driver there. Truli and Barrichelo are the best ones when it comes down to setting up a car. Brawn should keep Barrichelo, without Barrichelo I don't think Button will do good, cause he isn't good enough about setting up a car.

One thing is for sure, this will be the first time since 1995 that there will be 13 teams, and just for the sake of doing it, those 13 teams were(in order of Manufacturers points that year), Benetton-Renault, Williams-Renault, Ferrari, Mclaren-Mercedes, Ligier-Mugen-Honda, Jordan-Peugeot, Sauber-Ford, Footwork-Hart, Tyrell-Yamaha, Minardi-Ford, Forti-Ford, Pacific Ford, and Simtek-Ford, and if you notice, only three of those teams will be participating next year under the same name, Ferrari, Mclaren-Mercedes, and Williams(engine change but so what.)

Sutil to Mclaren

Is this just your guess or did you hear this somewhere?

Since Hamilton is always talking about how good Sutil is, I wouldn't be surprised. Is his contract up at Force India?
