Thanks everyone, for the racing. It was at times """"a bit""" frustrating but there were a few good times. And a lot of laughs.
For this time, there will be no official results and no points given. Because of the few troubles we had. There was an overall good turn up, up to 11, it's not bad for a first time. I hope we'll do even better next time.

Now there are a few things I wanted to remind everyone, including myself.

Next time(s), I will be more careful with my time keeping, so make sure you have the correct car and if you need to go to the bathroom, don't wait until we're about to get on track for the race! :D
For the connection issues, I'm wondering if we should try once to go without mics. I'm not too keen on that, because of all the banter, but I'd like to try it. Wednesday, maybe.

Also please make sure you drive clean. Someone-we-are-thinking-about knows about it, he just received a 800 words PM. But the others as well. I saw a few bad moves. Remember that if an overtake is not squeaky clean, you need to give the place back. That didn't really happen (cjr, I hope you noticed my slowing down in lap 4 at Silverstone. Apologies for the push). The last thing I want to see is people rage quitting because of other people's driving. I hope everyone will be back despite tonight's dirty racing. For your information, I've told Someone-we-are-thinking-about to go practice a bit before (perhaps/hopefully - not sure which to choose) coming back with some socially correct driving skills.

I must be forgetting something so I'll come back later to edit this...

Edit (I knew it!): my rule is that I don't look like trying to enforce it but since it's the first time, I might as well break my own rule: don't forget about the Gentleman's Yellow Flag. I'm not saying it should have been used here and there, I'm just reminding you it exists.

This was a good time and I'd like to come back for next Monday's session if you'll have me. I'm a bit slow comparatively, but I try to race as clean as I can. One thing I noticed during race is the comfort tires really took a beating, especially at Deep Forest and Silverstone. I thought they may actually fall off at times I was under steering so badly.

Also, I need to get a better headset with a mute function. Apologies if there was a dog and/or significant other audible in the background at times. :ill:

Such fun races last night, I'm surprised I won the last 2 races tbh, you guys kno how to have a laugh that's what made the lobby so fun, can't wait till the next race!

The last race was quite amusing all in. I was in a number of 3 car wide battles with me in the middle getting squeezed from both sides and nowhere to go. I couldn't but help hit one car as the car om the other side pushed me!

I did hit C in orange car on the last few laps on corner 1/2 after missing my brake marker apologies. I also slowed down and beeped my horn to let him know I was letting him back passed.

Can't believe dat guy though. Don't think letting in someone who hasn't driven before mid series.

Well everyone starts at one point. How you handle the situation is how his actions will turn out later. Belittling a newcomer for poor racecraft most likely wont change anything. Pointing him the right directions could shape him the right way. I know my first online race at Monza in RM EvoIX's had me misjudging almost every brake point and taking someone along with me into the gravel pit.

He wasn't misjudging things though. He was actively ramming people off the track and majorly cutting corners.

There is a huge difference.

just re watch the first 3 lapsof bathhurst from last night from his car in the behind car camera angle. I could not stop laughing.

I completely agree with you. If you look at the Bathurst replay only, your reaction will be 'NEVER AGAIN'. basically he was driving as if against the GT6 AI.
But if you look at Silverstone, things have already improved a bit. Apart from a few nudges and leanings that have to do with experience and obviously lap 14, which was very Bathurst-like.

The lad is quick and willing to make amends, he apologised and is eager to learn. He'll get another chance at some point.

@perdy450, yes, you could race with us on Wednesday. For a trial. I really have to ask the question first, though: how much experience do you have racing online and are you acquainted with the OLR rules and guidelines?

I was going to say, I think I showed poorly on Monday due to being short 7 PP compared to everyone else. :P

Yep, read over the rules in OP.

Started 10yrs ago simracing and still on iRacing but it's getting stale, plus I don't want to fork out for a new PC atm!

Really into GT6 and found general/random online lobbies full of muppets so was looking for a league.

EDIT: back tomorrow so whenever next session is if that's cool?

Thanks everyone for the races. We've learned a lot as well as having good fun. There were some very nice battles, in the middle of some dreadful mistakes. The replays are going to be fun to watch (I haven't yet).

Here are things that I want to change and other things I want to submit to you. Please give me your feedback, even if you weren't racing tonight.

1. I confirm now that we will only race on Mondays from now. Please let me know if you are still able to race or not on a regular basis. It's important so I know exactly how many new people I can let in. (If you cannot race on a regular basis but are suddenly available, feel free to come have a look if there is room for you!)

2. I didn't get much feedback about the random weather picker. Are you happy with it?

3. Some combinations of tires and/or tracks are not working. I will sometimes pick the next tire rather than the default one. We need to find a balance between the realism of the driving and the racing aspect. As Third_Reign put it well, 'I want to fight the others, not the car'. I don't want people to get bored because of the tire choice. I will also be more careful about my choice of tracks. The last minute change to Matterhorn (so I could have some random weather) was not inspired. Note that I will pick one type of tires for the whole evening. Is that ok?

4. Break balance. Even if tuning is not allowed, changing the brake balance while not in the car is still possible. So I guess it's just easier to allow you to change it as you wish, just like TCS and ABS. The other option is to not allow any changes to the BB (so everyone has the same car) and trust everyone not to tamper with it. What should I do?

5. Yellow Flag. We need to make sure the Yellow Flag is not a confusing thing. Tonight Sparkz had to stop racing for some reason (I don't need to know, it may happen any time) but pressed Start and left. The result was that his car was still going at low speed and we all thought we were under the Yellow Flag. We got really confused and distracted. So when you 'wave' the Yellow Flag, make sure the others know what's happening exactly by weaving side to side. And if you have to leave the race, please park the car somewhere safe and don't put the car in Autopilot (don't forget the handbrake).

That's all I can think about for now, feel free to add to the list.

And I hope my time keeping was a bit better...

Come on Monday, we'll see if there's room for you.
Have you read all there is to read in the 1st post and the feedback after the first 2 events?

U should post the replays to show him what the races are like u have come to the right place buddy

The only way I could show the replays would be by recording my TV with my phone... I'm not sure about the results and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have the time to do it every week.

I've edited the 1st post (again) and simplified it by centralising all the information one should know on my good old blogspot. BUT I am only using my blogspot as a knowledge database. All the chat will still happen here (this was one of my mistakes with seasons 1 and 2).

Oh

Oh Well dw about it we all make mistakes

Firstmivec has run with alot of us sunday cup guys, you'll have no repeat of the other night with him. I'll only be available on mondays mate, got sunday cup practice to nail down. Give gary and bo a run for their money! lol

I'll be a regular on Mondays until further notice.

The random weather is great as long as it's not raining:lol:, and I'm fine with you choosing "better" tyres for some cars. Would also like to have faster tyrewear, yesterday even with the sportstyres I didn't notice any wear.

I usually change the brakebalance when driving with ABS off so please don't restrict this.

I hope everyone reads the GTPlanet OnLine Racing (OLR) Rules & Guidelines.

About the races yesterday then. The s2000 is great with either cs or sh(probably more fun with cs). It was my first racing in a couple of years using the DS3. Hopefully I can get used to it.(It's not so bad)

I'm not a fan of that Matterhorntrack and apologies to the both drivers I hit from behind coming down that stupid hill. :guilty: Could have been a fine race on Grand Valley but no, I had to stop to take off my headphones.:grumpy:

I had a good time although not racing very much and tried to keep out of the way.

Is it now too much of a hassle to get the wheel out?

I guess if I use better tires (when needed), we will be able to have faster tire wear. My issue was that with the Megane, the understeer was so bad that a fast wear meant the driving went from bad to atrocious.

That megane has too much power for a front wheel drive car 274 horsepower the s2000 is 246 horsepower and that's rear wheel drive :/
