This is necessary for the enjoyment of all.
I did not realize wifi could cause issues. My wifi router is like one month old and as far as I know faster than any service provider can offer so shouldn't be the bottleneck in connection speed.

I respect your decision and certainly going to do some speed tests soon! I hate to think my setup would cause issues to others...

I don't think speed tests are going to reveal anything. @watermelonpunch can confirm this as she and her group have been even more hit by these issues (mainly because there are more events...).

I believe you. Just that in my case it is a matter of either running a long cable across the livingroom or moving the PS3 and monitor to the bedroom. Wife not gonna be happy either way :P

No problem. Checking my NAT settings and others for other lobbies :)

WIFI can cause issues, but it's certainly not 100%. If the wireless router is reasonably close to the PS3, and the internet's ping and speed is very good it would probably be acceptable. But of course, admitting people on a case by case basis would be difficult.

no show for me tonight, sorry. World Cup viewing group is getting together tonight and we have two big-screen TVs set up next to each other!

The way the procedure is done, we shouldn't even need to post any message.
It should be clear enough, when you suddenly catch up with all the cars in front of you, that a GYF is happening.

But I often catch up with cars in front of me after they've smashed each other!

In fact, it's the only way I ever catch up with cars in front of me!

How am I supposed to know the difference if I just happen to come across 2 cars that look like they're recovering from a spin... and nobody says anything?

I mean I'm not going to stop every time I come around a corner & find 2 cars stopped, for reasons unclear. I don't know what kind of accident they had before I came upon them.

Also, I've noticed in several times that tehre have been Yellow Flags... the people at the front did NOT wait for the people at the back of the grid to catch up. The race was restarted without waiting for everybody.
Just sayin'.

All right, gaming room rewired and internet set up. Just have to wait for the update to download and install, and get some practice laps in. :P

Haven't driven in over a week, so I might be rather more off the pace than usual. I'll have to adjust to the camber change as well.... :dopey: But I'll be there.

1. Look at the map. Assuming you also use a full size map.
2. I noticed as well and it was part of the reminder I posted a few days ago. I hope everyone picked it up.

@amarynceos do we have to reset the camber on all cars? Even stock?

Sorry guys, what with the update download, and then the car being tuned (and I hadn't had a chacne to check the forum before signing on)... and then when the race started my car went into cockpit view, and I found that my ds3 map had been changed... so I couldn't figure out how to switch views. Then the yellow flag, which I only knew about when I had to rear-end a stopped car & got confused... plus, I overtook john during the yellow flag, but wasn't sure what to do at that point.

I clearly have too much going on IRL to concentrate & keep up on complex procedures without being told what to do. Sorry.

my car started off tuned also...i had to buy a new one to save time and sort it out.

Good racing tonight, cheers

I think Warrius mentioned lag on my part, i wasnt dloading anything and the ps3 is wired, the laptop was on as normal, il make sure its off in the future, also the last race it was showing me as in second as the race was about to start....i dont know why i started 6th.....id have dropped back anyway :D

Looks like a fun series. Any chance i could join today?

We had already started when you sent your message. Anyway you need to read the first post, it contains instructions for you before you can compete. Please follow them (clue: it involves posting a reply here). Thanks.

Didn't see this as I was practicing online when you posted. It seems that just looking at the settings page of untuned cars is enough to let them into a tuning prohibited track -- not sure if you have to open each setting tab up or not. I did that (opening each tab) before my pre-race warm-up and got on the track with the Ford without a hitch.

Cars with adjustable settings have to use the 'reset to default' option to get the new camber settings, I think.

.. and then when the race started my car went into cockpit view, and I found that my ds3 map had been changed...

Yeah that was throwing me. I kept nearly crashing on the starts while adjusting my view, and then (unless the Ford had no horn) my horn button went walkabout. I tried to give someone a toot of the horn in appreciation for letting me past and nothing happened!

Anyway, good racing today even if I was rather rustily rubbish. Couldn't find a decent BB with ABS 0 on that darn Ford!

--amar

edit -- also, think I better start using a full-size map so I'm not as likely to get caught flat-footed by a GYF next time! I was all sorts of confused. :dopey:

Good racing tonight:tup:

You haven't had your phone near PS3, with WIFI on MrWhite. I have had this problem before:)

My phone is a £10 pay as you go one John, i confess it might have been 5 live radio app on the tablet being on for the brazil game :embarrassed: it must have been to be honest...it wont happen again :embarrassed:

I was running without abs too, tricky brake bal, to get just right:guilty:

When I tried to get in with the Trophy had to reset all settings. First time used it too:)

I have indeed read the OLR and have raced in many GTP sanctioned series as well as others. I am hard wired and have a very stable connection. I am by no means fast but am a very responsible and clean driver. Hope to see you guys on track soon.

@Whitey093 see you next week. :)
Note: you need to read the Rule Book as well.

I have read the rules. The only thing new to me is the gentleman's yellow. That might be awkward at first but im aware of it and will be paying attention if everyone slows on the map so I can act accordingly. See you guys next week.
