Now is the time to ask a question I've wanted to ask for a few months:

What next?

GT6 is for me a disappointment. OK, the driving itself is brilliant, and our racing together has been epic more times than not, but there are so many things that spoil the fun (unnecessary to make a list here). With the updates not coming as fast as they were expected, the game is losing its appeal. Really fast.

I won't be moving on to PC, mainly because of the cost, very much also because of the lack of room. So the PS4 is a natural choice. After having upgraded the TV, I'm now expecting delivery of a shiny (ok, half shiny, half matte, so it seems) brand new Playstation... :dopey:

GT7 is not dated yet (not that it'd mean anything, anyway, after GT5...) and Project Cars seems to be the most logical way to go. My plan, hopefully, is to get it at launch and at the same time upgrade to the T300 RS (because DFGT).

Does this plan sound reasonable? How many of you are likely to go the same way? How many have planned otherwise (:( @KingKlingeling)?

EDIT: Sorry, I should add that in the absence of a worthy alternative, I'm NOT planning on stopping racing online on GT6 just yet!!

project cars is ordered on amazon but i think it might get cancelled by me, the graphics shown are pc graphics i think? i might be wrong?

ive got it on order as if it goes cheaper il get the cheaper price if say GAME advertise it for £40...this happened with call of duty which i got for £40 ps4 version

gt7 wont be out til the earliest Nov next year...probobly 2016 the earliest.

im definetly going to get gt7....all other games il get when cheaper apart from fifa or call of duty......gran turismo 7 is a must.

I might not be online tonight, my heads banging and backs aching :nervous:

@WarriusZero
I've overhauled my rig during the last week and to be honest , I was a bit sad why I did not made the change earlier .
I really love Gran Turismo from the 1st to 6th , including it's bugs/glitches/missing updates/etc.
It's just simply the only "sim" on the playstation and I will definitely pre-order GT7 unseen.
But a triple setup with a PC is just a whole different story.
Sure, nothing is plug&play and I spent countless hours playing with FOV's, FFB's and assigning buttons.
Even the colour calibration on each screen (although they are exactly the same) took nearly 3hours.
But If everything is working , absolutely nothing can beat a PC and the Sim's available there.
I'll keep the PS4 for games like uncharted or anything with a cool story.
Just relaxing on the couch with the ds4 is awesome as well .
But my racing future will be on the PC.
I thought about selling my PS3 , because I definitely shoot a whole in my wallet with all that stuff which was needed , but I don't regret one cent so far.
Otherwise I had the best racing here in this group and I kinda miss everyone in the grid (exept the ridiculously fast @kHamcio )
I think I'll keep the PS3 and join sometimes , If there's an open spot .I'm still on GTP everday to stalk the usual threads;)
we raced nearly one year now and I really enjoyed 99% of it .

Wall of text over here , I just leave 2 pictures of my rig 2.0 and see you guys soon :gtpflag:

ok so just have the ps3 wired directly to the internet, and OLR ive read

Well, it looks like you didn't read much here... :)
The 1st post clearly indicates the things you need to read/do and you still haven't read the Rule Book or confirmed how much racing online you have done, it seems.

Another detail, it looks like you've missed the 'Full' tag on the thread.

What should I know about you that could make me change my mind?

EDIT: KKG, great setup you have here!

Most probably I won't be able to join to join You tonight :(
I'm extremely tired and have s h i t load of crappy schoolwork for tomorrow...

About changing the platform: Well, my racing future will be on PC, like KingKlingeling. BUT I'm not selling a PS3 yet, cuz I enjoy Zero Cup so much! 👍

Saddest thing for me is that my G27 can't be connected to a PS4. What were they thinking!? All the Thrustmaster wheels are, unfortunately, too expensive for my budget, so PC racing seems cheaper for me, because I already have a pretty powerful PC, that can run those simulators pretty well...

I will miss the grid, too - all the races here were extremely fun! But it's not a time to say goodbye yet!

@KingKlingeling, see You in the PC world! :mischievous:

Sorry about that WarriusZero, i read through the zero cup Rule Book, OLR and i have a wired connection. I am as of now only part of SNAIL racing and Formula E. Id like to join to imporve my driving in a racing club that everyone is on the same level of performance and no tuning is allowed.

@akira86 you'll get a trial if you send me a friend request before 19:00, as I will be creating the room at some point between 19:15 and 19:30. And if there is a spot left for you, since the Zero Cup is advertised as being full.

@MrWhite1972 I think the green is the light, not the wall... I might be wrong...

Well I've planned to go down the ps4 and GT7 road because I simply can't afford a good gaming PC. I'm off to a university in about a year and a half so I'm going to have to give up the wheel setup. :( I obviously can't bring a wheel with me and beside I would have to buy a thrust master wheel and I'm not in the market for a new wheel right now.

Something with not able to connect with the room owner.
Tried a half hour but figured you guys were already started.

Bummer.

👍 @hainuinimic for not hiding behind your steering wheel! :)
I've given you a 4 points penalty, which I hope is justified: it takes you 1 point behind @amarynceos in the race but also incidentally in the final results...

Apologies to @WestRoadZ for implying that you may have been involved in the first lap mess at Fuji! The only small contact you had was with @LongbowX and it didn't affect him.

I also confirm, @amarynceos , that I gave you plenty of room at Monza, you can look at the replay from my point of view and I tried my best to avoid both you and @daddyo845 .

@Sparkz_360 yes you can change your racing number! :)

@Sjaak we saw you trying and trying and trying... Sorry that it didn't work. Hopefully next week! :)

Thanks everyone, for the racing, there were more people than I anticipated. And crongatulations to @WestRoadZ for the cup!

And as Amar said, be patient, people!! ;)

These things happen, 👍 @hainuinimic . We all (and I'm certainly not excluding myself here!) need to be a little more cautious at the first corner... as we all know, you can't win the race at the first corner, but you can certainly ruin yours or someone else's.

Hopefully people are already doing this, but it's really a good idea to do some practice starts before the races. Find out where your braking marks are for the first turn from various grid slots! Sometimes these first corner tangles are a simple result of not knowing where oneself or others are going to jump on the binders (I've pulled a few lulus from having no idea where the braking point is on the first lap, that's for sure :embarrassed:).

Indeed @WarriusZero that was all my mistake, as I figured right after the race. I just got out into the grey and didn't back out of it enough -- I was seeing red after being knocked (100% unintentionally!) into the gravel at della Roggia.

Good races as always, even if they were a bit frustrating at times. @daddyo845 , our cars seem to have a wierd grativational attraction to each other.... :indiff:

I’m sorry for not even bothering to post here that I’ll miss the last two races. I lost my interest in GT6 (and sims in general) in the last month. It has been ruff at work lately and I’m not in the right mood or condition needed for racing. I also got a PS4 and like to relax with it from the comfort of my bed. I’d still like to join you guys sometimes, because Zero-cup has been my greatest experience when it comes to online racing. I just need a break at the moment and hopefully things at work will settle down in the next month. Have fun you guys!

@KKG that’s a cool rig man. I actually come from PC sims, but at some point I got really tired of the constant tinkering and tweaking stuff, so I got me a PS3 and GT5/6 because it is plug and play. I can say I fell in love with GT for what it is. There isn’t a sim like it on the PC. I have a personal issue with the PC though. It is just that working in the last few years as an IT in a big company, and dealing all day long with PC/Windows related crap has made me very unwilling to deal with the same crap at home. But that’s just me. You have a great time with that rig man!
