Indeed, I've been waiting for the custom tracks to make their return in the Zero Cup... and I'm growing impatient!
Actually, on GT5, we would have 2 races per event, one on a custom track, the other on an 'official' track (25 min each). I spent more hours creating tracks than on any other feature besides driving itself.
Other things are specific to the Zero Cup: the GYF, the grid order, multiple tracks for one event, etc... and it would probably be confusing to have a different set of rules for events of a same club (although not impossible). I wouldn't want to impose my verbose Rule Book!
Another problem with having everyone joining a single club is that I couldn't create my events via the Community Club Events feature, it would be a shame as it's a nice thing to have.
I think it's not a bad thing that the Zero Cup has its own club. I think that's also how PD envisioned it.
And it's good that we have this kind of 'recruitment' process, or more precisely a way to control that people know what they are stepping in. Or should it be a public club rather than a private one? I'm hesitant because it could bring potential issues as well as advantages (possibility to open up to random folks who are here only to fool around).
Where we can definitely improve things, though, is to set up some advertising between clubs, in the News section, for example.
By giving this kind of visibility to other clubs, we can open up to a greater number of drivers without losing the Zero Cup's identity, as well as the Stock Real Racing club's identity. And keep things tidy.
It's something that we can discuss with
@Zkippe (hello Zkippe!).
