My PS3 is slowly having it. More often than not, it won't turn on but flash red with 3 beeps.
A workaround so far was to switch it off completely, wait a couple of minutes and switch it back on by using the Eject button but the workaround doesn't always work any more.

I don't really want to buy a new one now that I have the PS4 so the option I'm giving myself is to try to get one from some relatives who don't play with theirs... :)

It's an old 40GB fatty, bought all the way back in June 2008... I guess it did okay.

I hope as many as possible can turn up for the Solstice. It's a surprisingly fun car to drive!
The only downside is the top speed is easily reached, hence the track choice (we should be close to the rev limiter at Willow Springs, I hope not too close...).

Yes!

My lovely brother-in-law brought it across this afternoon and I'm currently getting it ready for tomorrow.
I started 4 hours ago, the traditional updates are all installed (8.7GB of downloads, no less) and the ninja updates are now downloading/installing. Hard to tell how long is left as the ETA started at '800 min left' and is currently on '4 min left', but has been like that for at least 10 min...

My PS3 wouldn't start early afternoon, it did work yesterday and the day before, though. But if all goes well, I don't have to worry about the old lady any more. I think I saw it coming correctly, it was the right time to call my brother-in-law to the rescue, and I'm thankful to him.

The new PS3 is the slim model so it should be fine for a good while (not sure how long I will borrow it :)).

Il not be there tonight, ive got a rarety of being able to watch Liverpool live on the telly :) i dont have SKY and refuse to be conned by it so il be getting a rare football fix watching there brilliant strike force :D:D yes selling Suarez for Rickie Lambert and the genius goalscorer Balottelli was always shrewd :D:D definetly see you all next week and for as long as its still here, il still be playing even when i have project cars :gtpflag::bowdown:

I'm sorry guys I'm too much of a hazard to everyone else which I have decided to retire. I'm sorry guys I think I may need to sit a week or two. I really need to get myself under control.

@Cu3e could confirm that I was unlucky at Ascari, especially at the end of lap 1. :)
For the rest, I didn't do the car justice...

@daddyo845 try what I do. If I don't get the practice in like I'd like to or the tracks are not very familiar (like tonight...) just turn the driving line on...

It was distracting more than helpful for a long time for me but now all I see really when driving are the red lines. I pretty much ignore the shades of blue. They do not match my driving style anyway...

I planned to go without tonight but after disastrous beginning at Rome Reverse switched it on and kept it. I had great fun in every race 👍

Fun races! Silverstone was actually better than i expected, i am not good at it, but the battle with bergele and amar made it worth. The car was alright, but had an annoying understeer when you released the throttle.

Sierra is a great track for close racing, lots of lines available, and the cars seem to have more grip there.

Yea! I want to see that three-wide action from the replay :D

I too was delightfully surprised with the Silverstone race. That track (all configurations) tends to be my huge weakness, so I'm not entirely fond of the track. (It's a vision thing for me... I have the same issue with Indy Road Course - I always do poorly there as well.)
But overall it was a great track for the Silvia and enjoyable. And best of all, I didn't create a scandal in that race. :D

It was only chaotic because we don't tend to use the track much and don't know it well enough.
But I think the track is quite nicely suitable for some close racing, with plenty of overtaking opportunities.

I wouldn't mind at all using it again...

Oh yes, great track.
I apologize for having been green on it and causing a bit of a consternation at the start, where every move I made seemed wrong & put me in somebody's way.
But really I think every instance of minor problems there was due to lack of familiarity with the track. Clearly that won't always be the case.

I've scheduled a spec race in the Makeshift Shuffle club on Sierra this week, to give myself some more seat time in a slower car (triumph spitfire). If anyone's interested in that, come along, and use the race as an opportunity to practice. ;) (You likely will find me driving around in last place. And there will be qualifying, fastest first, so I won't be clogging up the grid on the start.)

Good racing on Monday (and last week, too.) Even if it was only because of a mistake on his part, it was a nice feeling to actually pass @LongbowX -- a very rare occurrence!

Fun (if stressful) battle at Silverstone with @Cu3e and @LeoStrop -- I felt I had the edge on lap time, but I just couldn't seem to put in a clean lap... and then when I did manage to get ahead of you both, I dropped it into 4th by accident coming off of the last corner!  Tapped the dang paddle while catching the start of a slide, haha.

Next week's car is a bit of a handful under braking, even with a heavy front bias (6/3) the dang thing wants to go sideways when you hit the clampers. Might be a candidate for running with abs...

My preferred Number# is 43.

I very probably won't be in next week's but looking forward to the 120d.
IIRC, it's so much better than the awful 120i.
(Both of those cars are in makeshift shuffle lists.)

Just a quick update on my part. I’m sorry to not been able to join you guys for so long. My back problems have intensified of late, so I have not used my wheel at all. Have another trip abroad this month too. And to top things off – I was going to join you in the race on 29.12, but got the news that a friend of mine passed away and totally forgot about the event that day. I may be able to join you next month.

Anyways – happy new year to all of you! I wish to good health and happiness!

Take care of yourself, @drandiiski .

On the weather side of things, I now confirm that I'm going to change my algorithm and the worst possible weather we'll get will be 80.
We also won't have to wait until after the race has started to change our tyres.

Expect the Rule Book to reflect these changes before Monday.
