Where is Warrrdo? :D

Ps, its ok to Beeep me road runner style if im in the way :D

Must admit i did feel at the time it was a bit unwanted as i was kind of pulling over anyway, anyone about to lap me gets a free pass, i would never hold anyone up.

Sorry, did not mean anything by it. I was passing you from the right and when I did a quick peek to left I thought I saw you leaning towards my side. There was a group of 4 of us lapping some traffic and I just wanted to let you know in case you missed one of us (me :D)

All in good fun... No hard feelings!

On another note. Double checking the replay..., if I had just let @LongbowX past me after the contact, to be sure. I might have kept the second place...

Live and learn...

Yes, you would have! :)

The car was slow but it was still fun to drive, and after last week's Gallardo, it was welcome...

I like the picture with all 8 cars, it summarises perfectly my race!

Great racing again, first drive of the car, been away in Glasgow. Maybe the thrash up and down the M74 did me good.

No worries Melon was racing:tup: Just hate that smaller desert track:nervous:

Yeah streets of willow is a tough one for me. I think we did that track in the Elan in zero cup last year... And I think I made a fool of myself then too. haha.

@WarriusZero : Can you share with me your time settings for the Willow race last week? (Time progression & time start.)
Thanks!

re: the BMW 120d as a "slow" car...
I've been thinking of this... and enjoy considering the different aspects about various cars.

I don't think that BMW's peculiarity is really that the car is slow, but that it's not one that motors out of corners with any enthusiasm, and therefore is frustrating at times, because when you slow it in a corner, you have to wait for it.
There are truly slow cars that are not really like this. I've also found that some faster cars are like that.

I recall that one of the Skylines I drove was like that. And there was one heavy car in gt5 shuffle like that. And not low power, or really slow cars.
But if one's momentum in a corner was messed up by even minor error, it could really really feel you're trapped in a stasis field at the corner for what seemed like forever.

Actually, I find that Traction Control, even set at 1, can do that to almost any car. For example in seasonals or special events or wherever, I might use TC if it's allowed, with some cars that are handfuls & I'm not good at. And on the times that I've used it, I've occasionally found that some cars are very adversely effected by it, and it becomes a handicap rather than an aid. And I'm talking about having that happen with a Ferrari, where I'm stuck in the corner in slow motion feeling frustrated.

So I'm deducing from all this that what makes the BMW 120i so peculiar in its "feel" is that it has some combination of oversteer and corner sluggishness... and that maybe that has something to do with the car's default slip differential??

It's been a long time since I really dedicated myself to tuning a car myself, but I recall the slip differential tuning to be an area where I really concentrated on, because if you don't get that right, drivers who do get it right, will be saying "CYA BYE" out their window at you in every corner of the race.

Anyway, sorry for the wall of text, but I'm just geeky fascinated by considering these things.

I haven't even test drove the Audi R8 yet. :nervous: I don't know that I've ever test drove one even in previous GT games!
I've always liked the Quattros well enough. But I'm not a big fan of 4WD.
So we'll see how I do.

Perhaps another factor is that the 120d is a diesel and the torque is at lower revs?

The R8 is a really nice car and the V8 version is not stupidly quick so it should hopefully be interesting.

Last week, at Willow Springs, I set the time at 18:10 with a time progression of 3.

Yeah that certainly could be quite a bit of it.

The 90s Celica has a similar, though not the same, problem issue with torque in corners.
And it's well modeled because my real life 95 Celica has that issue as well. It really gets going nice on the highway though... in a rather abrupt manner too. :odd: haha. My car gets excellent fuel mileage for its age at least. So it makes up for it being annoying when I turn up the corner hill into my neighborhood. haha.

Good racing....well race one anyway were i finished last :D...race 2 was starting good, as for the nudges or i may have nudged them(Rossy....your driving is superb 👍) lost connection race 2.....race 3 i quit i admit but i couldnt handle the car.....better luck in the future

OK, I've looked at the replay of the start of the 3rd race.
After a lengthy debate with myself, the result is going to stand for these reasons:
- the speed delta @Third Reign built up
- he tried (and managed!) to keep 2 wheels on the track. Just about! :)
- he tried to make his car as small as possible
- the difficulty to give away a spot without making an even bigger mess
- the benefit of the doubt since Third has a good record

I agree, that was very much on the edge of the sharp knife of fairness and it made it a difficult decision.

@watermelon punch you get a special mention for managing to keep control of your car when Third Reign put a wheel on the grass on the other side of the fence!

Off topic: Third Reign, what is the colour of your R8? This blue is stunning.

That makes me think. Watermelon Punch and @Drex124 if you wish, Third reign's penalty could be having to paint his next car with the colour of your choice...

Great racing at the 'Ring, @Third Reign . I'd like to say it would have been closer had I actually put in some practice, but you probably would have just gone faster if I had pushed harder. :mischievous: I had a blast just keeping up, though. 👍

I was expecting a flame-breathing @LongbowX up my gearbox after he got clear of traffic, but to my surprise he never ran me down. That's one for the books, I think I've managed to finish ahead of LB all of twice now. :P

I was about 7 seconds behind after clearing most of the cars. I had a half-spin at that point too, so I knew that would be difficult. I eventually clawed it down to about 5, but with pushing on such a difficult track, mistakes will be made. It's hard to find the balance between the two, especially in such a squiggly car (which gets even squigglier the more you wear the tires). It was an excellent drive @amarynceos, your experience at that track shows.

Thanks! Yeah, there were a few spots that made me nervous every lap. Wipperman especially. :scared: Sometimes I just had to focus a turn or two ahead and let track memory get me through the scary turns. :dopey:

Glad I decided to show up, initially I wasn't going to as I hadn't practised at all, but about ten minutes before start time I thought 'what the heck, why not.' That was mainly due to the presence of the Nordschleife, and it turned out to be totally worth it.

Turchese Farfalla from a Fiat 500.

@watermelon punch and @Drex124, I know the pass wasn't up to my personal standard of passing. My usual "brake and stick behind them" would have ended with me rear-ending someone. Having wheels on grass with sudden braking could have caused mayhem for everyone behind with me sideways on the track. With the track being so narrow, I saw no optimal solution and made a split second decision to stick with the pass.

Most that race with me do know that my racing ethic is: If a pass is not clean, I'll cancel the attempt and slow down. I know I frequently bump into people on corner entry where speeds differ greatly, but I try to never take an advantage of these situations and make sure to stay behind the bumped car.

That makes me think. Watermelon Punch and @Drex124 if you wish, Third reign's penalty could be having to paint his next car with the colour of your choice...

I'd be up for that!
