There are a lot of cars already used in the Zero Cup that i'd choose again, but then there are so many cars left unexplored...

BTW if anyone has suggestions for cars or combos, don't hesitate to post! 👍

The gordini is tail happy madness. :D:scared::eek:
Unfortunately I'm away so won't make it. I last raced this in my first ever online championship with @Sick Cylinder and remember bring lapped twice at least.

Have fun

Thanks for the mention Sutsagrd. The Renault 8 Gordini comes as standard on Race Hards and is very tail happy on standard settings so you might want to try comfort soft rear and comfort medium front to tame the handling - I don't know if your club allows that.

BTW if anyone has suggestions for cars or combos, don't hesitate to post! 👍

I hope you don't mind some suggestions from a casual reader (and you may have tried these before), but I have found these cars run well on standard settings:

Chevrolet El Camino - a lot of power and a lot of body roll with only a two speed gearbox - produces very close racing.

Buick Special - sadly it can't be painted - change the wheels for PD525N for a traditional look and paint them to differentiate the cars. (this car looks remarkably similar to the 7 litre Ford Galaxie which competed in BSCC in 1963/4 driven by Jack Sears, Sir Gawaine Baillie and Jim Clark).

LCC Rocket - handles so well it can be raced on comfort hards.

Jaguar XJ13 - It's 20 million credits, but in theory every driver should have one already as it was a prize car in a seasonal event - paintable and with the biggest race number in GT6!

Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe - paintable, but bizarrely no race number. Handles well enough on standard settings for low grip tyres.

Mercury Cougar XR7 - a sort of upmarket, differently styled Mustang with a great race history (second in Trans Am).

LCC Rocket - handles so well you can go down to comfort hards if desired.

Pozzi Motorsports Camaro - a great car.

BMW M3, M3 Chromeline, M5, Mercedes C63.

BTW if anyone has suggestions for cars or combos, don't hesitate to post! 👍
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Rally Car '10- It handles very well with Comfort Hards and Sports Soft.

RUF BTR '86- Although that this car is one of hardest cars to handle in GT6, it could create an challenge for the drivers.

Or you could do take JDM's like the Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and the Subaru Impreza WRX STi '00.

Thanks guys, i appreciate your input! 👍 We had the Rocket already, and unfortunately it hits the limiter untuned on several faster tracks. It's a fun car nevertheless.

It's allowed to fit the Gordini with CMs in the front, that's a good way to tame most unforgiving MR/RR cars. You may be a little slower, but you know the saying: to finish first, you must first finish. :)

If you have time on a Monday be sure to drop by, clean racers are always welcome!

The gordini is tail happy madness.
It's much more manageable stock and surprisingly good on CS tyres. Although you still have to respect that rear end. :)

Snow - I'm usually quite good on the snow. It's probably because I'm normally sliding all over the place anyway.
I've yet to try the Gordini on the white stuff. That might prove to be "interesting".

The Zero Cup has been running for awhile so I'm not sure what you've used previously (is there a list somewhere?), so I'll put this one forward anyway. The Tommy Kaira ZZ-S. 201bhp with an oil change. MR but nicely balanced. Not bad on CS's.

Or a Daihatsu Midget! :D

The Gordini rocks on snow! Had the pleasure before. :D

We can do a car again, there is no rule against it. ;) The most annoying thing with untuned cars is the gearing, if you hit the limiter on every long straight it's no fun. Most muscle cars are plaqued by it. :indiff:

Where were you hiding folks?

Ok i have to admit our cat sabotaged the Zero Cup today, she brought a mouse into our home and being fair at play let her the advantage of hiding under our furniture. I had the pleasure of finding and hauling her out. :ouch: I succeeded, but let the race room unattended, so the thousands of racers came and went without leaving a trace. :odd: If, Jocke and i diced around Chamonix and GTArena, and the event is postponed for next week. Sorry @Baron Blitz Red, see you next time. :( Now i have to get all the furniture in place again...:dunce:

Hey fellow Zero Cupsters!

As the attendance count is dwindling, i'll switch to a biweekly schedule from next week on. I had planned to do this a while ago, but the great races with you all stopped me from executing it every time. :) I know it might not be the right way to gather more racers, but at least i can use the time off to enjoy other clubs and races in my new found free time. :embarrassed: :D

With the arrival of the Course Maker i plan to add some user created tracks to the online races. As it appears you can only load one of these tracks at room creation time, the first race will be held at these tracks. Stay tuned for more. 👍

So here is the Schedule update:

5 October 20:00 BST - Renault R8 Gordini '66
Tires: Comfort Soft
  1. ??? Magical Mystery User Track ???
  2. Chamonix East
  3. Nürburgring Nordschleife
19 October 20:00 BST - Pozzi Motorsports Camaro RS
Tires: Sport Hard
  1. Big Willow
  2. Indianapolis Road Course
  3. Daytona Road Course
2 November 20:00 UTC - Nissan SKYLINE GT-R V-spec II (R32) '94
Tires: Sport Hard
  1. Deep Forest Raceway
  2. Midfield Reverse
  3. Spa Francorchamps

Hope you haven't fogotten the R8 event today! :) About that Magical Mystery User Track:

:mischievous:
I don't know how it worked out, i only made the layout and have never driven on it, but the Zero Cup Circuit looks nice on paper. As i can only load one user track in a room and can not switch to another normal track then , we have to leave the room for the first race and create a room for the second and third race. Bear with me and all will be good. :)

See you there!

Who would have thought that the Zero Cup Circuit is more of a hillclimb... You can't see the elevation in the editor, but there are nasty corners after crests, undulations at corner exits, you name it. And it poured down in the second half of the race, exciting battles ensued. 👍 We even had a yellow flag finish, unplanned but fun! I hope to add more user tracks to races, so please PD, lift that single track room limit!!!
Had a blast in the snow race, the Gordini really shines here imho. We lost @Baron Blitz Red in action, damn the DCs. :irked:But @amarynceos seems to get the hang of driving in the snow. ;)
At Nordschleife i profited from amar's offroading, and we battled most of the second lap. 👍 A slipup at little Karussel secured amar's lead and we parked before the finish line to keep the race in time -- even though another lap would have been fun!

Thanks for coming, see you again in two weeks!

I wish I knew what happened exactly, but when I got disco'd it was total. Needless to say, I had to do a hard shutdown of my PS3 and then of course wait while it did its checks to see if anything got corrupted... Thankfully that wasn't the case.

Thanks for having me along for the one and a bit races, was some good action as per usual. See you out there, "Racing at the Speed of Life"!

Cheers
