I'm in a similar position to heinrich only I don't think I was in it nearly as often as him. But anyway, I'm back all the same and back in the same division as I used to be, which is nice.

In keeping with tradition of the thread my name is Dave, I'm 23 and live in West Didsbury, South Manchester.

Good to see you again, HeinrichII

I can remember we both ran the Lancer on TMII back in GT3 WRS days :dopey:

Ah, those old days, *sniff* :(

I can really remember that one because it was the week that I enjoyed the most, and probably it was the best lap I have ever run in the SSR5 Wet.

I didn't participate that week, I meant TMII where we were restricted to a certain pwr :sly: The Lancer wasn't competitive then, but we both decided to drive it!

Oh yeah, the wet one ODP I think he beat me with another car.

Yeah the Lancer wasn't competitive at all, but we still managed some very good times overcoming all odds :sly:

Hello to all... I will be joining you in the WRS events. My name is Joe. I'm from Texas.... and no I don't ride a horse or carry a gun. I drive an 03 Nissan 350Z in real life. I drive in manual mode in GT4 and I'd say one of my favorite cars to drive on the game is the Amuse S2000 R1. I drive using the controller and I'd like to get a wheel one day.

Just wanted to introduce myself.

-Joe

Oh... and I'll be starting out with everyone in Division 2.

Hello, welcome to the WRS, hope you have fun :)

I'm still not registered, but I'm waiting for the Max Drive just in case my qualification lap is kinda fast and I must submit the replay :P

Oh and I hope someday to own a 350Z...you lucky fella :sly:

Hi everyone I'm new to the WRS, division 1. I'm from London, England. The M3 is my favourite car in the game, so I was lucky that was used in the qualifier. I always use auto gears and the DS2 controller. In real life I drive a modified Nissan 200sx (s13).

Hey what's up everybody. I'm new to the WRS as of today. I'll be racing in Div 2. Been playing GT4 for about 3 months or so now, but been playing the GT series since day one! Thought I'd be up for a real good challenge, so I gave the qualification race a try and after about 60 or so laps, I was hoping my time would pit me around Div 2. Now a little more bout me:

My name is Chris, I'm from Maple Ridge, BC, just outside of Vancouver. I'm 21, and I am a Store Operations Manager for the largest sporting goods retailer in Canada, Sport Chek. I have been an avid car fan for years and years, and absolutely love racing. Never raced cars in real life, but I am really interested in trying Autocross out sometime. I drive a 2002 Mazda Protege with lots of plans laid out for the car. For my current list of mods, I have Tein S-Tech lowering springs, 17" Motegi LC5 bronze rims wrapped in Kumho Ecsta MX tires, size 205/40/17. Xtec 8000K HID kit, 50% tint on the front and back windows, and a reverse cowl carbon fibre hood by Gemini Composites. I will have a 2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege spoiler arriving at my doorstep within days now, and lots more coming, including custom turbo, 4 piece body kit from Buddyclub 2, custom paint job, custom in car DVD and sound, and much much more. Hopefully I'll have this thing ready for shows by summer time, for sure by November. Here's some of my latest pics, before the hood and HID kit was installed. Stay tuned for a new photoshoot within the next few weeks!!

Well, now you all know me and my obsession, looking forward to racing against everyone!! See you on the track!!

Alright everyone, I'm new to this whole thing as well now. Div3 for starters. Did a couple of runs of the week 41 challenge and came very close to the final top Div3 times.

Been a GT freak since I bought my PS2 4 years ago. Stuck on 98.4% completion of GT3 (1 time trial and Gold licenses left), but couldn't be bothered after GT4 came out. Until I found this site I always took the easy way to progress in the games. Now I'm finally making things a bit harder on myself. Manual gears, no TCS, etc. etc. Don't know how on the planet some people here are doing the lap and split times they're doing. I imagine I'm well placed in D3, but look forward to possibly moving up in some months time.

Don't have a steering wheel, as I don't even own a table I could fix it to, so I'm using the DS2. We'll see how good I can do with that.

Anyway I live in London, but was born in Tokyo, and grew up in USA and Germany till 5 years ago. I'm 30 and sell designer furniture. There's me and how I got suckered into this WRS. Bring it on!!!

Hello. I have been a member of GT Planet for a few months now but I have not done much racing. I only participated in one other race and I did terrible. I have been playing GT4 more since then and I have gotten a little bit better. How do I find out what group I am in if I want to join?

Thank you
-Alex

Check the FAQ and Qualifier threads in this forum, then PM me your qualification time. I'll place you in a division based on it.

Hey...My name is...eh forget that. Check my profile.
Hey flat-out. I might give GT4 a try and enter the WRS. I'll PM you my qualify time. I've been in Div 3 before so....I can do better than that.
;)

Okay, so I finally joined you guys from WRS. I've been a GTP member for quite some time now and I've made a few good friend here.

Anyway, for those of you who don't know me yet my name is Felipe, I'm 24 and I'm Brazilian. I play GT4 with the DS2 and in manual gear.

Well, I guess that's it. Cheers.

Hello everyone, I'm a fresh one to this Racing scene but have enjoyed GT for many years now.

My name is George, am 25 and reside in Sydney, Aus.

Been a member for a while and now feel like some competetive racing will be fun. Have completed gt4 with a DS2 but have now got a DFP and m trying to complete the game again with it this time. Although it's more fun it's also a lot more challenging.

So I have room for improvement and hopefully will work my up from div 3.

That's it for now, cya.

I'm JTSnooks, and decided to join the WRS to give me some stiff competition when I get bored. I'd post up my car, but I already did that in the WRSers and their rides thread. Anyway, I run a DS2 and manual gears, and haven't used a TCS setting higher than 1 on anything in GT4 (it's usually off). I sent in my time a few days ago but haven't heard what division I'm in yet, so I can't tell you where I'll be. Been playing GT since the first one came out and never looked back. I played GT3 the least out of the 4 games, but that was from a lack of a PS2 rather than a lack of interest. Anyway, I think I'm pretty respectable around a track, so it'll be nice to find out just how much I suck :D Just waiting on the division now, hurry up Flat-out :D

*edit* I'm in Division 2, awesome. So like I said, "pretty respectable", a.k.a. "kinda fast".

I'm Ian (The Internet), and I'm from Sacramento, now residing in Davis, CA. Although I was born in Sacramento, I consider myself to be Canadian, as I was raised by Canadians (which is markedly similar to being raised by wolves). I use a DS2 and I always use Manual on every racing game I play. I only use traction control on the F1 car. I'm in Division 2 in the WRS but every race I've been in, I've finished last in the division. Consequently, I don't run the series as frequently or religiously as some of the members here.

Before I got my Max Drive and entering the WRS, I was in Nitro_2005's short-lived V8 Supercar Series, which I can say pretty well I dominated. Out of 8 races, I won five and finished second in the other three. That doesn't say much but as it was my first formal OLR series, it's a great confidence booster.

ok, 1st of all i don't know what the crap the WRS is (stop gasping:grumpy:) so could someone tell me? plz? i'm guessing it's like online racing with gt1/2/3/4/4mobile every week. I DON'T KNOW:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

<(with 99.99% rage)TELL ME ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway... i would really like to know. and BTW i know some good tuning tips(just load the car with every thing and you're good:cheers: )

oh! also, my name is richard (Camaro SS a.k.a. the Camaro King) and i am obsessed with camaros. i have 5 of every camaro in gt4.

*edit* i'm probably the youngest guy here who can beat aguy in any car(yay volvo doesn't suck!<finally>).

The WRS is an on-line race series.
Drivers need to run the Qualifier so that they can be placed in a division, and they're supposed to read the FAQ at the same time.
A new race is posted every tuesday and racers have a full week to submit their time.

...and getting mad because you don't know what the WRS just seems out of proportion. I wonder if you can stay cool while you're racing, or if you need to buy a new controller every 3 laps :D

OK.

I'm from New Zealand, way down at the bottom of the world, and have just been placed in Division 2 with what is apparently a reasonably fast time. Managed to place me 7th in Div 2 so it's not all bad. :D

This is the first Online Racing I've competed in. I tried to add my GT3 times to a leaderboard once, but when I got there the page hadn't been updated for about 6 months, and some of the times were obviously fake.

I was also signed up to run in the V8 Supercars series at the end of last year, but had to withdraw before the first event due to work commitments.

But, I've been re-united with my PS2 and I'm looking foward to getting stuck into these races.

Oh well, I better go and wheel my Yellowbird out of the shed and head off to Apricot Hill (I hope the drive up isn't busy). Hopefully I can get a few hours in tonight and establish a semi-decent time before bed. Should be better next week though when I've got more time before the cutoff.

Anyway, I look forward to racing with y'all - and may the competition begin. :mischievous:

:)

*EDIT*: Also - DS2 for me, and TCS and auto gearboxes are for girls!

Hello my name is Michael and I live in Bristol, TN. I am 37, married and have two sons. I am totally addicted to GT4 (I actually used GT4 to help me get over my GT3 habit!:)

I finally sent my qualifying lap in today and I am anxious to see how I chalk up. I have looked around the GTPlanet site at times and I think that I may end up in Div 5:dunce: .

At any rate I have already started on the new Sarthe Challenge in anticipation of my assignment.

Hi All,

My name is Chuck and I live in Upstate, New York. I am a member of the "older-crowd" club coming in at the ripe age of 34. I started getting into GT heavily with GT3 (which also prompted the purchase of my first wheel). Today, I play a lot of GT4 with my DFP and love to compete.

I am pretty busy with work and family, but still make time for games any night after 9:00 pm or so ET. I don't log the same mad hours as some of the hardcore gamers, but I try to be competitive with the time I do put in.

I signed up today for the weekly races and now I get to submit my qualifying times tonight when I run it.

See you all on the track!

Wow. Must be something in the water. What percentage of D1 is Aussie now? :nervous:

Welcome aboard. :)

There's still a few hours left for to work on a time for this week's race. 👍 Good luck.

Hi Everybody!

I am not new to WRS, I have raced a few times, but I thought I would come back here again. Travian sucked me up this summer, and I finally got away from it! Now I am coming back here to do stuff again. I do suck at racing, but I still participate because it is fun.

Most of you probably know me for my gamesave's, others of you might not know who I am.

ferrari_chris, I like your avatar! I think that new IE logo is pretty cool. Did you ever get it to work on your PC?

Yip. She's running sweet now, thanks for asking. It took me a while to get used to opening new tab rather than a new window, but I've got the hang of it. :)

Your avatar looks pretty cool too.

Good luck with your return to the WRS, I look forward to racing against you. 👍

Welcome Luke !
[THINK]Soon WRS will stand for Wallabies Race Series[/THINK]
And welcome back Chris.

And I'm using Firefox because one thing has always bothered me with IE : when you go to C:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/ and remove the file iexplore.exe it automatically re-appears a few seconds later.
I don't like when someone forces me to have a program whether I want it or not.

flat-out, try to uninstall it. Just deleting files to get rid of a program is always a bad idea! It doesn't get rid of the info in the registery and leaves files in other folder's you don't even know exist!

Also, thanks for the welcome! I will start with this week, week 47.
