anyone ever told you that small fryz come in a paper bag, and only regular or large fryz come in a cardboard carton?

by the way, where is your dad?

Pics on their way......

And Cyril, i think i remember the Hungary overtake, was it down hill on a straight, one way, then the other with Ayrton or Alain?

Yep.
Senna (McLaren Honda) was first, Mansell (Ferrari) second and they were about to lap Stefan Johansson (Onyx Ford).
Senna moved on the right hand side to overtake the Onyx, Mansell followed, and slipstreaming, passed Senna in the same move.
The camera was located at the end of the straight, and you could only see 3 cars on a row, with no perspective, until Mansell's Ferrari came back on the racing line, ahead of Senna.
Mansell won the race 25 seconds ahead of Senna.

Howdy, all. n00b in da hooooooouse!

With the onset of winter in snowy Vermont (USA), I'm starting to gain some interest in competition. I'm 31, married (2 cats, 2 dogs, no human kids), and have been playing GT since the original on the PS. I actually bought the PS because I saw the game at a friends house, saw the insane level of tuning, and knew I had to have it.

IRL, I am the proud driver of a 1990 VW Corrado G60 (Winter Driver) and a 1993 VW Corrado SLC (Summer Driver). I'm in the process of a 'do over' on GT4 due to a corrupt GT4 game file (which was unfortunately the file that I used to make my last back-up).

I have an XPort and an XPort to MAX conversion utility. My 5MP digital camera should adequately capture screen shots of my sub-par times should replay files not be required. Unfortunately, no one has ever had a need to question my times.

I'm an active (and, I'd like to think, respected) member of the SOE GT4 Forum (same handle). I'm interested in meeting some folks over here in the 'other' forum and seeing what competitions are like here.

So be nice to the n00b. I'll try not to act too much like one. :)

ok ok ok shush the masses.

here's a pic or two of the EG since i added some 4x4 wheels and brought the height down ever so slightly to accommodate them.

Dont forget, i already added the racing exhaust and filter kit, so its just the engine change to go now.

£3K should cover that, then its 22b territory here we come!

hehehe

and one of my good self, looking puzzled.

When 900 years old you reach, look as good, you will not.

Too bad your pix aint working.

Hey Vexd, you have a really nice ride height on your car. Not too low, not too jacked up... just right 👍 I really do applaud you for it because I think you have what I consider the ideal suspension setup for street use. I've seen cars dropped so much that the tires are inside the wheelwell (sp?), and when these cars grab any bump, everything gets really unstable. For my car, I dropped 1.25 inches front and rear and I'm having a blast pissing off all these people with much much lower suspension setups.

Once again

I like you all ready. 2 Corrado's? You are the man. I love Corrado's. I love VW's and Audi's. I have a 90 Audi Coupé quattro (my avatar) and an 88 VW Cabriolet (my name) with a Corrado like body kit. Welcome aboard.

T13R, i appreciate your kind words and obvious knowledge.

I looked into dropping the civic more, but wasnt happy with the arch modifications.

She came down by only 40mm and even so i still get a little wheel rub on tight junctions or bumps plus tight turns.

But roundabouts are immense fun!!

I need to get the strut braces in next really, as they are apparently the biggest change i can make to improve the handling of the car.
Not surprising really, considering the bodywork is made of beancan. Anything to strengthen it would help.

Its nice that you noticed what i was aiming for, and im glad you approve.

As for Golf's or Yadoo's in the coming weex, this pleases me also.

Shame we dont have the brand new RS4 to play with.... or do we?

Im off to check...

Welcome prodriver.
Click on the 'Weekly Race Series' link in my sig, read carefully all 4 pinned threads, then PM me your time for the Qualifier.
If you like Subbies, you can run this week's race too (see other link in my sig) and PM me both your times next tuesday (be careful, deadline at 9pm GMT and no exceptions are accepted).

Good afternoon (morning/whenever you are reading this) to you all, my name is James and I am 23 from Northern Ireland hopefully will be joining soon but hello anyways!

Hello there, I'm Smallhorses, not "new" per se to the WRS, as I used to race in Div 1 of GT3 WRS using a DS2.
I "know" Cyril pretty well from around the Planet, from our days racing "proper" Minis in GT3!
GT4 has been a learning process, since it's the first GT I've used the wheel & pedals for.
Have gotten to grips with it enough now to come back, though at the moment I'll only be racing "Arcade Mode" weeks, I've got an ongoing quest in "Sim Mode" that I don't want to spoil by modding vehicles for the WRS. :guilty:

Given time I'll probably be running in everything sooner or later. 👍
Anyway, I've now qualified for Div 2 of GT4 WRS ;) and I'm "driving" the old blue DF wheel, which I got secondhand.

Looking forward to racing with you all, lots of new faces in here, and some "scary-fast" old ones too!

Nice to see you again Nick, old chap from the late team Mini and Mini Maniacs.
Concerning the GT Mode races, I can't believe that you still don't have a spare memcard with an übersave :indiff: It's so handy to be able to race any insane combo without spoiling your own gamesave ;)

flat-out

Sorry Cyril, I'm way too much of a purist for that. If I haven't driven it & won it, then I don't deserve to own it! :)
That's my attitude anyway, and why my B-spec driver was fired the moment I took the wrapping off the GT4 box! :yuck:
Once I've completed 100% and own every vehicle, having earned every single one through A-spec driving, then I'll make a copy on my 2nd mem card and use that for the WRS!
My current stats are in my signature though, and as you can see, I've got some way to go! 6 more enduros, including Nurb 24hr, and all of the extreme hall, which I've still not unlocked! It may take me some time......
I'll be enjoying the arcade mode rounds, if I've got the right cars though..... keep up the good work picking the combos, glad to be back around!

Some interesting responses here. Now the question is...

Do you want my Noob member introduction which will be long and retarded sounding or Do you want the old "wise" ( yeah right ) member response?

What about posting both of them so that we can decide which one we prefer :D

Ok ok... I'll do a mix of both and let you guys figure out which is which. :P

I'm Nick, if you haven't noticed I like Vipers a little bit. I'd prefer real racing over racing on GT4 because I suck ass in it as some people have found out in the "hot laps" chatrooms we ocassionally do. Up until now I had no desire to race online against others untill I stumbled onto the long racing series which have certain classes of cars like JGTC. While it sounds cool I don't think I could handle 40 laps much less 4 . I noticed there is a short racing series but it doesn't seem like there is classes so much. Anyway, I could try this racing stuff out and act like a total slow ass noob at the same time. :dopey:👍

Hi i'm Dan, i only discovered the joys of OLR mid this summer where i competed in YLG's SCCA series. i followed this with my own HT-AS series which ended this week. I'd heard of the WRS from a couple of the guys i met at the UKGTParty IV and thought i'd better take a look at it. From what i've seen it looks great fun, especially since i often don't have the time to run every round of a series and a series i can dip in and out of appeals greatly.
I've found myself dropped into Div II, where i'm sure i'll be battling towards the bottom.

P.S. - flat-out for your records - i race with a DS2 at the moment, but might get round to running with my dusty DFP one of these days.

Well I think I should post in here. First of all, I ran on the WRS in umm GT3, and was quite an experience. I have seen that many of you are totally unfamiliar to me, but I see some of the old dogs still in here.

I am very happy that there are loads of racers now on the wrs, it's quite cool, and makes the competition even better.

I'll return soon to this because I am finally getting a Max Drive yay! and not only because of this game, also because of WE9 that comes up on February ;). And with this thing, I'll also try to download a very advanced save game because suddenly the data of GT4 got corrupted and havent played for like 3 months because there has to be a way to fix it rather than creating new data (which the thought of going through all those races again bores me) and start all over.

Well, cya soon on the track guys :)

Welcome back !
It's nice to see that people older than me in the WRS are still lurking around.

hello my name is jim and my buddy chris (Gtracked) got me started in this stuff....i'm 29 years old and live in St. clair shores MI.....i have a 1966 chevy and a 02 zx 6r bike and just would like to say hi to u all....and good luck!!!

Hello my name is Don Mejillone (Mejillone = my last name in Spanish)
I live in the Netherlands and every tuesday night, for three years now I play GT 3 / GT 4 together with some friends, I-Link.
It's was a garage (the car has to stay outside!) and now it is a game room with six televisions and six racing chairs & playstations and allways ready to race!
It is the property of Jadaman and the last year Sjaak68 is joining us!

You can see some foto's at www.gtonline.nl
Ever in the Netherlands for holliday? Send a message at gtonline and lets play!!!

Geeze, I didn't remember that at all

It was great fun that week :)

Max drive is coming in two weeks approximately, so in two weeks you'll see me burning some asphalt ;)
