Well took the audi R8 for a spin and it is faster by some 1.6 seconds over the audi R8, thats how much i bet my previous time by:tup:

using the same setup as i did with the Pes........ i managed this

26.393
56.680
1'21.389
1'41.945
2'07.867
2'34.083

and i had a pretty clean finish aswell, only lost .2 on the last chicakne but i was thankful it was only that much as i was a bit nervous due to being up by at least .5 on my ghost approaching the last section:tup:

well i submitted this time as my fast time to flat-out, not sure what car to race next... cheers :sly:

i don't like you anymore... :P i could race the next 2 weeks and probaly not get near those splits... :(

New splits for me in my stock-as-a-rock '54 Gullwing.

(Not sure if any cares but here goes anyway) :

--- Current --- Previous
T1: 0:46.266 (0:46.720)
T2: 1:37.545 (1:38.160)
T3: 2:19.295 (2:20.992)
T4: 2:53.716 (2:56.421)
T5: 3:37.390 (3:39.871)
T6: 4:22.176 (4:25.862)

There's still more time out there to be had, and I think I can drop at least another second from my overall time.

Question: are the green strips connected to the rumble strips of the chicane immediately preceding the Start/Finish line considered legal surface?

The Wizard.
You mean that you manage to have 2 wheels off track, one on the rumble strip and the fourth one on the green strip ?
Yeah I think if it happens it'll be legal.

Had a thought, Since it's been decided that this races deadline is in two weeks, does that mean week 46 will still be posted at normal time, or will week 46 be posted at the end of week 45, therefore actually being week 47?

Yes.

After about 2 hours with the Audi R8: (DS2)
27.507
58.979
1'24.033
1'44.809
2'11.102 (messed up Arnage, easily could have been .2 faster)
2'39.319

Hmmm....why is it that I always spin or have a major screw up on the 2nd lap between the start/finish line and T1?.....Conspiracy!

not really conspiracy but just a weird thing I have observed

flat-out

How did you guess that? :D

Yes, I managed to do it. I bet if I tried for one million more times, it wouldn't happen ever again :D

But, yeah. On the first curve of the chicane, I have two wheels on the asphalt, outside the rumble strip. The third one (front right) is in contact with both the rumble strip and the green strip. The fourth one (rear right) is in contact, by a couple of millimiters (exaggeration, to make it sound more dramatic ;)), only with the green strip.

I was having such a good lap that I stepped on the brakes earlier and longer (as I did not want to mess up the lap at the last chicane). But I also turned in earlier than I was supposed to and I ended up doing what I just described :D

Oh, well. Hopefully I will manage to beat that lap, as I haven't quite reached the time I had in mind, yet.

hahaha, i dont like u aswell:)

just a few tips though on how i went about doing this lap,

start at 230km/h, as that is the theoretical maximum speed u can reach the start finish line if u do the chickane perfectly while still being clean.

take the first chickane in 4th gear (using auto 24 gearing) when u brake, try pumping the accelerator a few times to avoid snapping the car.

-next corner in 4th at a smooth 180ish
-the fast right at 220
-the first chickane on the straight, i brake 2 car lenghts b4 the last sign on left, and initially drive over the middle of the rumble strip at 180ish, then accelerate momentarily as u set up for the next left, then brake and down to 3rd gear, and start powering out at 150 (u shouldnt need to apply partial throttle)the car will slide if u hit the rumbles incorrectly, but u wont loose much time if u make sure to use full throttle, the car will regain control then.

-same for the next chickane also
-the right i brake out wide initially, and start turning in from the extreme left of the track. take it in third, but dont cut the chickane to dramatically as u will loose traction, and thus loose exit speed.
-the tricky next section can be negotiated by applying slight brakes initially for the super fast right, then brake in a straight line initially to avoid snapping the car (that can be a bit tricky with the dfp). take the corner at 110km/h, using almost full throttle initialy.
-the slowest corner can be nailed if u brake just after the merging of the sand and grass on the left of the track, take it in third at 80, using 3/4 throttle untill u are in a straight line, then full throttle, if u spin the wheels u will loose a manditory .5 all the time.
-the high speed section requires u to stay in 6th gear for the first right, take it at 290 if u get lucky that is, its kinda daunting approaching the first high speed corner:crazy: u should use all the road for the first right (nothing further than the line though) and take the next left in 5th if ur in a crap possie, then stay in 5th for the next, then the right can be drifted slightl in 5th down to 250, and same speed for the next left also

last section is fairly self explanitory, just take the last in 4th normally, but i chose to take it in third in my lap as i sometimes did it better in 3rd.

well thats pretty much it from me, untill next time, cheers:tup: :sly:

Holl, when you said the A8 is better than the A8, did you mean that the A8 is better than the Pesc?

Someone mentioned rally cars, and I remembered that I drove the Pug 205 rally car(the mid-engine one from the 80s) at our last LAN meeting, and it was AWESOME, so I took it out on the track. MAN that thing has a huge bang of power once the boost kicks in. Soooo much fun. But, it's a little wild, I don't know if I want to spend the time to tame it on this track. The car, in stock form, makes for an awesome drive around tight tracks... 👍 👍

haha, yes i meant that the audi r8 is better than the ps2 pesc. by some 1.6 secs:tup: i might give the mazda rx-7 a whirl next. this is an awsome combo flat-out.

28.275
1:00.304
1:25.917
1:47.203
2:13.675
2:41.367

I'm in and I'm out...only my 6th full lap in my Audi, I tried a few other cars this morning but none really floated my boat. I hope to get to where TheWizard is at with a T6 of 2:38.xxx. I'm losing half my time it seems in the first 2 splits, the end is coming along nicely with the wheel, but the beginning is hardest IMO. Excellent times guys! Great Combo Cyril!

Still infront of ya Jerome!

What's up?

Another lap into it I'll update the LB later today. Sorry guys I gotta jet!

With that one sentance, you decreased my T1 by .5 seconds (makes a shine and worships). Yes I use a DS2, but it still helped!
Thanks

EDIT: but not in my latest lap (below) where I messed up that corner :(

I decide I won't race this week.
Instead,I'll take a look at all replays that will be posted, and if there are atleast 2-3 NTSC replays,I'll download them, and make the first ever GTMV.
What is GTMV,I leave for you guys to find out. :)

In that case I better go get my latest splits in the Volvo... :) And maybe get some more splits in another car...

Shaved quite a lot off my Audi R8 time (only in the last two zones though)

--Old----------New--
0'27.507-----0'27.661 :grumpy:
0'58.979-----0'59.023 :grumpy:
1'24.033-----1'24.045 :grumpy:
1'44.809-----1'44.962 :grumpy:
2'11.102-----2'11.190 :grumpy:
2'39.319-----2'38.643 👍 👍

and I shaved another .7 seconds off the last zone, so really the lap was crap until the end
If it's a faster lap though, I like it

Quick question:
I bought 2 Audi R8's, for the first one I did not buy a roll cage, for the second one, I did buy it.

After taking a 4 hour break from using my roll cage less Audi (times are in my above post), I decided to try the roll caged Audi.
On my second lap with it, I was only .1 second slower than my best lap time (that took me 4 hours to get) with the roll caged Audi.

Should I continue to try the roll-caged Audi? Is a roll cage actually faster on this track? To me it seems like yes, but I need other opinions so I don't waste time with it if it is not faster.

Kind of a basic question sorry, but I just want to know what others think of it.

53.348!? I call shenanigans!

Spent some time today on the DFP finally... 2'38.ish. I want another 5 seconds at the end or so to really be happy.

Grr...

I can't start quite yet as i'm trying to finish up the last few races in the Formula GT Championship that I never finished before, but as soon as these are done, I plan on using a bunch of cars :) I like a variety, as I don't plan on winning in the overall category. I just wanna have some fun! :)

I'm done for tonight...
I did get a few good splits in, but no fast laps (I always spun violently just before Indiannapolis). Again with the Audi R8
T1: 26.9xx
T2: 58.156 (57 is so close, it's annoying the crap out of me)
T3: 1'23.1xx
T4: 1'43.8xx (still some major time to make up here)

GT-Mode vs Weary: Round 3

Car: Audi R8
T1: 0'28.131
T2: 1'00.649
T3: 1'26.473
T4: 1'47.693
T5: 2'14.960
T6: 2'42.490
Finish: 3'0x.x67

GT Mode - 3
Weary - 0

Fast cars and super sticky tyres = Craptastic time from me :( I don't think I'll persist with a fast race, might try other things

OK, final splits for me in the '54. Got a lap time that I think is about all I can squeeze out of her.

--- Current --- Previous
T1: 0:45.429 (0:46.266)

T4: 2:52.569 (2:53.716)
T5: 3:35.951 (3:37.390)
T6: 4:20.884 (4:22.176)

Now it's time to wheel out black beauty. ;)

My first go in the Audi R8 (Stock w/Oil Change - 834hp):

T1: 27.949
T2: 1'00.840
T3: 1'26.098
T4: 1'47.808
