PAL 0% 608 hp
NTSC 0% 500 hp

PAL -3% 589.76 hp approx 590 hp
NTSC 18% 590 hp

Someone said they wouldn't want 1/2 hp difference either because it'd still be an advantage so its still not exact

to me 600, 602 is fine, but if 590 is the choice, then cool, its still fast:dopey:
Just wait for someone to lose by .001 and blame the 2 less HP. I can forsee it....

There is only ~2% difference between 600/602 and 590 anyway. So it's probably better to have them exactly equal.

I said that. But I meant '1 to 2 HP' in reference to the 602/600, rather then half.

Does PD take into account '.xxx's of power figures even if they are not visible? I wouldn't have thought so, but I'll see if I can test it now.

EDIT: Now that is interesting....I tested the Midget around beginner course in Arcade mode, with 0% (11HP) and 9% (11HP) and the 9% was faster in both A-Spec and B-Spec testing.

However, that extra .808 HP amounts to an extra 7.34% of the total output in the Midget. In the 350z, the 0.24hp difference between 589.76hp and 590hp is a massive 0.04% of total output. Which is much less then the difference between 602HP and 600HP (~.333%)

I still can't believe that they would design it in the PAL version to have THAT much annoying understeer, without an increase in power.

i hope flatty checks in soon to end the hp discussion. 590 is better cos it gives you time to think through the apexes.
at +20% i did a first few laps and found some unencouraging first t's of 32.916 and 1.06.788.
still a lot of time to gain the coming days.
i even can't remember when i did the japan race for unlocking this z, but i do know it was fun and not very difficult if you can choose your car properly.

i agree with the 590hp idea put up here to level the playing field, i will run a c ouple of laps on full power nd on 590 and see what the difference is... I'll be back... :P

This car Handles brilliantly i think. I've done a few races in it. Wonderful car

people are discussing of putting the power lower because PAL users have a 130 hp advantage with the same car

T1: 29.900
T2: 1'01.757

done with 590hp, quite good fun, probably a second left in it yet for me, maybe another 1.5...

3 laps in the full power version

T1: 29.073
T2: 1'00.317

breaking the minute barrier at T2 shouldn't be a problem... but i think we should be using 590hp...

Why do races on El Capitan always cause extra trouble ? (And why do PD suck so much sometimes ?)
Anyway, I updated post #1 with the new 590hp rule, and I mentioned the required setting to reach that power in PAL and NTSC.

BTW, when the rules say racing soft tyres, it means that this is the softer compound you can use. But you can always run harder compounds on the rear to make up for the understeering tendancy if you wish.

the car handles like a dream... and it is a beast...

i ran last night with 600hp

T1 - 29´292
T2 - 59´811

goal is a low 59 by the end of the week, but i´ll have to rerun if the power is set at 590. don´t worry guys, its the same car. PD only change the numbers in the 2 versions... so with the + and - we will get the exact same car... just ask someone who has both the NTSC and the PAL version...

Board Re-Initiated

Righty-O, I've redone the leaderboard, as far as I can figure the only person's splits at this stage that were done with the correct power setting were shockwave's so that's all that's there at the moment 👍

[EDIT]
Just had a quick crack at the new settings, dunno what my target should be but I'm on the board 👍

T1: 0'30.390
T2: 1'02.708

Oddly enough, almost the exact same final time I had before I changed the settings back :)
[/EDIT]

:odd: a Division 3 racer dropping killer splits like that?!? Well I'll chuck it on the leaderboard but I suggest you check your settings carefully 👍

new splits for 590 hp

28.952
59.935

Going to submit results, probably should have 59.6 or so but everytime I do a solid lap some fluke thing happens and I end up losing a couple tenths. Never did figure out that big jump before T2 but so much wheelspin there that it wasn't worth the headache doing it more.

Know what you mean Colby!

I have 590Hp/rs tyres/TCS(I know)

T1 31.454
T2 1'04.591

Still very untidy, and had a MAJOR wiggle after the crest of the mountain and fishtailed through the tunnel :ouch:

But at least it's clean, very clean, too much very clean!

But have only done 10 laps or so.
*edit*

Have turned off the TCS, and cleaned up some lines (especially over the mountain) and got these:-

T1 31.052
T2 1'03.524

A little better!

Yeah... I probably need to get used to a race car on RS tires... I haven't driven on race tires in a race car for a good while. I guess I'll have to put more time into it... Wake myself up for being fast again. I've grown a liking for harder tires. Should be good practice for the JGTC series as well, considering those are race tires in race cars too.

Well, the settings are good, the lap is clean, and as I said earlier on this thread, I know the car and track. I found a groove and ran with it. I really didn't think it was that good of a time when I set it, but now looking at everyone else's splits, I can see where you would be questioning my time.

this looks like a great race! I just hope I have the time to run it. Friends shouldn't let friends borrow GT4. Now I gotta pry it out of their paws! :scared:

Love this track reverse or forward

Love tha speed

I'm definitely in for this one, time to rest winning eleven for a bit ;)

El Capitan is always hard to resist, but after a couple of laps in an understeering 730 hp pig, it was actually pretty easy. :(

But after getting the power closer to stock, the combo is very pleasant. :D

Is there a lesson to be learned from this? 👍

Flat-out

So we can use any Racing tire -- EXCEPT the super-soft ones? Am I reading that correctly? R1, R2, R3, and R4 are OK, but not R5, yes?

Yes. All but R5s (Super-Soft) are allowed. You can mix them up too if you like, for example, R4 on the front, R3 on the rear.

I feel retarded. I was about to post my splits until I read that the HP has been changed. I'm running with 600BHP. :dunce:

Back to the drawing board.

well had a quick go without seeing this 590hp rule and managed to do

27.985
57.844

with full power.

will try correct power soon, great combo.

Had a good 45 min session at this great combo and got:

28.721/59.264

I guess I really only messed up the turn after t2 on this lap, otherwise it was pretty good. I've seen 28.6 t1's and I think 28.5 is possible. For T2 its all about the hairpin and hill and if done perfectly I expect a 58.8 or so is possible but would be really tough to get. I'm using 320 kmh and you shouldn't need any TCS whatsover if you stay in 3rd or above the whole lap.

well my dog caught my controller cord and dropped the ps2 on the ground. Now it reads cd's but doesnt recognize the controller at all. Too bad im broke right now too! :ouch: So I guess I can't run till I buy a new one :dunce:
