Give us a couple of stickier weeks, after the recent N-tyre flood... W78 was in the right direction, W76 too.

Or maybe one of the better-handling (and low-power) FFs? I always wanted to have a WRS driving a Peugeot (Although we had enough frenchies for now), or some other sub-200HP. Alfa GT?

Honda Beat!!! Although low powered it would also be fun on a trick tight track, plus it's MR!

Maybe at Suzuka West?
I can think of tons of titles that could be given too.

And how many of them contain the word Beat? :P

I like the sound of some of these low powered suggestions. 👍

You mentioned suggestions other than car/track choice Colby...We haven't had a multi-lapper for a while have we? *Can't remember*

Darren.

  • SEATs are **** hot
  • We haven't used Ice Arena yet
  • We haven't had a wet race in a while
  • Two words: Suzuki Escudo
  • Seems about time for the FGT again
  • Super speedway multi-lapper would rock
  • We really don't need to do the 'ring any time soon
  • A mission would be something different
  • A really low powered Kei car would be cool
  • More N-Tyres

Well, it seems there are a few who like those cars (suprisingly, but it's still a good thing) so maybe it will turn up in the near future! I hope so! I love beats, well, really I love anything, everything, and more when it comes to cars. Heck, I love Fiat 500s, Subaru 360s, Renault Meganes, Suzuki Cappuccinos, Toyota Aygos, Altimas, Volvos, Proto Motors, Autobianchis, Honda Fits, Lotus Elans, Daihatsu Midgets, and tons more, but since I love the Beat so much, I would love to see how I compare with it.

Edit: Casio agrees too! Although I would love to try a mission though, maybe mission 14 or the one with the GMs?

Or the Honda Battle :mischievous:

I like to use small cars as well(under 200HP), so a race with a small car would
be good to me. The Honda Beat would be cool or maybe a S500/600/800.
Or one my favorite small cars, the Honda Z ATC:D.

I agree with most of Brad's suggestions - except the Escudo one. Never liked the car...
And not Honda Battle - we've just had a JGTC NSX.

Honda Beat sound fine, but if it doesn't destroy your chances to find a name, why not the Mazda Autozam? MR too, and looks like a squeezed racecar.
I'd like a multilapper, too.. Perhaps a multilapper of Keicars in the Honda beat? A one-make, anything that would make the AI balanced, but no threat to the clean-ness of the race. Interesting, but not TOO tough. If we hadn't done Tokyo reverse just two weeks ago, I would've proposed that "Dream Car Championship" race there.
Missions... Perhaps a combo of ~3-4 of the short (No. 1-10) missions, then added together? Or a licence test. Brad suggested the Ice Arena - so why not the Accent@Arena S-licence test? Again, it's rally like W67, and not many would submit, but it'd still be fun. Wet race with the Clio (MR, road or race) should be fun, too. FGT demands nerves of steel, which I don't possess.

What about a multiple choice race, where all midget cars would be eligible ?

For the record, here are the most used tracks :
  • Nürburgring Nordschleife, 4 times (weeks 6, 30, 50 and 64)
  • El Capitan, 3 times (weeks 13, 37, 79)
  • Twin Ring Motegi East Short Course, 3 times (weeks 7, 15, 77)
  • El Capitan reverse, 3 times (weeks 1, 51, 71)

and the never used ones :
  • Clubman Stage Route 5 forward
  • Costa di Amalfi reverse
  • Seoul Central reverse
  • Fuji Speedway 2005 GT
  • Fuji Speedway 80's
  • Suzuka Circuit East Course
  • Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway
  • Twin Ring Motegi West Short Course
  • Beginner's Course forward and reverse
  • Test Course
  • most of the dirt and ice tracks

Looking at this list I makes me think that a GT Mode multilapper on Fuji 80 might be a great slipstreaming experience.

[*]Fuji Speedway 2005 GT

You seem to think what I've just thought. Fuji 80 is simple enough to keep even 10+ laps clean, there's not enough where you can mess up the turns.

I'd love a multi race (multiple laps, cars, and choices) with kei cars (like the beat)
or a mission, but I'd like to see both soon, like ~85 to 90.

Lets see, multi lap race with kei cars:tup:, multi kei cars to chose from:tup:,
kei cars on Fuji '80 race track:tup:, sound good to me:D.

Here's what I thought of today, after thinking about the concepts above... Something like Week 68: Any used keicar, oil-changed, all non-power mods. That way, there won't be too many overkillers (4WD Suzukis?), and it'll let people choose the keicar they prefer. Cappuchino (A.K.A the squeezed Miata), Autozam, Beat, Midget - anything that complies with the real-life keicar regulations.

Or: Any of the used Mazda MX-5 MkI (Pop-up lights). I know one was used on Week 18, but that was long ago...

And on the subject of missions: Why not the Chevrolet Corvette-mission? Sure, it's a track we drove on Week 72, and a car you (not me) drove on Week 64 (Sometimes in reverse, Brad?) - but it's fun, and I just made a 100% OLR-clean run of it.

That gets my vote. 👍

i am also in favor of programming some slower cars for wrs.
that said, i am also in favor of pd eliminating all those cars in gt5.
rubbish that out of 700 cars so many are cars one would never use in a racing program.

Ahem...*cough*

Linkage

;)

Darren.

Darren, where do you get this knowledge about every single weirdo track-car/racing? 2CV racing... Really. I love the 2CV though.

And I disagree with Steven - part of what makes GT4 so special is being able to take a Fiat 500 to Citta di Aria, while also running 300MPH runs in a Prototype racer, and tuning the everyday carp-car into a 500HP track-beast.

Well I'm looking into the kei car thing at the moment. I'm finding it tricky to properly define this race and also find a track that they all suit so you won't find them featuring in next weeks race but rest assured they're on their way 👍

Big wide tracks seem kind of boring with kei cars. Any ideas?

amalfi would be well suited for those cars, provided they have enough power to get to any speed in the uphill areas :)
it would mean i finally get to perfect the brake timing in the hairpin right after the start.

but now i feel it is time for a real fun high speed racing combo. i'd say let's stay in french areas and pick the peugeot racer and let it show what it's worth at le mans. maybe we get to understand the strange gear box it has but then it would have to be gt mode to make the ratios adjustable.

Well just a heads up for this weeks race...I will be posting it a bit early since some may need to acquire the car :sly:

Do I smell Bentley/FGT?

I've just aquired my second FGT two days ago, while I was away. Full-orange paintjob, even my first (Yellow-black combo) was better. :yuck:

And as long as it's Arcade, I've got a Bentley.

Or is it a Pescarolo? French cars: The more, the merrier. Just don't overpower the FWDs...

hopefully we can do something like this in a couple of weeks

race car (something with around 400-500hp)
0% hp
-10% weight
10 laps
light tyre wear
any choice of tyres you like

Good idea. Should be an easy track, though... Autumn Ring Mini? Suzuka East?
If Suzuka, then it has to be a family cup with easy passing down the straight, otherwise, AI are pretty obnoxious in the esses.

I'm ready for something STICKY!

Had a blast at a LAN meeting this past weekend in the Oreca with RSS tires on it around Trial Mountain I think it was. Seriously a blast. Any different from fully stock(+0hp, -0weight) on different tires would've been no where near as fun. I don't think we've used that car yet, using it somewhere would always be fun...

I'd like to see a low buck challenge sometime. Like used car, 50k or less. Or maybe 30k or less. Technical track would be fun(tight city roads with lots of direction changes, such as whatever it's called where we did the lupo race car) Maybe allow full weight reduction and chassis refresher stuff outside of the 50k, no nitrous.

any one of the Original Tracks would be fine (except for high speed ring, that would be a tad dull)
