Errm, no it doesn't. People will appreciate your tuning regardless of the outcomes in the showdowns. Personally, I don't give a hoot if I come up last in this showdown, I entered it purely for fun. And people will still be driving my tunes, I'm convinced of that. It's the tunes that speak for themselves, not the outcome of some showdown. Just my opinion ofcourse. :)

+1

👍

:)

But is that due to the showdown or just the initial attention running off? Just because people are not responding in your thread doesn't mean they're not driving your tunes. I sometimes get responses or questions via PM from people that do not respond in the thread. That must mean that people are trying my tunes while not responding here in the forums. Don't worry about it. :)

I don't get those PMs!

This is more a test of who gets the best drivers and/or most luck, then who has the best tune when it comes down to it though in the end.

Story of my life, worst luck imaginable. I'm getting punted left right and centre tonight.:grumpy:

Matching taking a while for this race... hope im not getting the wrong one

EDIT: 1-0 L-Tune, i was very brave to try hang in with the punters from the start and it almost cost me dear when i got pegged from the lead i fought so hard for to 6th, finished second overall in the race but first viper home :)

Yeah, it was fairly close until some Evo punted me on the final straight. Still a pretty good race, despite the punting. Also excuse to anyone I may have hit. ;) 1st lap j-pap took the lead, which I took back in 2nd, he regained it in 3rd and took the win! Congrats!

EDIT: I didn't know Dragonistic was racing for L-T as well. ;) He probably finished way before the both of us. :P

Lol i cruised away for the win though :), sounds like you two had a good battle for second even though i had the win for L-Tune in the bag.

I was second overall in the race behind a WRX at 6'02

Same results for this race, j-pap and I were battling it out while Dragonistic took the lead again. Good racing! Despite the punters (again).

i can't wait for us to never race on fuji ever again. or at least for private rooms to come up.

gtp_b24 please look where other cars are near you. you threw me off through the sweeper on lap one.

yet again thrown from approaching the leaders to punted off to last and having to fight back afterwards

2-0 L-T, the racing isn't great though, i'm just good at anticipating these guys moves and quickly move to give them space. I was held up behind the leader last race to

SRT10 for the win!

Again, great race, Dragonistic first, NLxAROSA second and j-pap third. Another win for L-Tune. I have to get my 2 year old daughter out of bed, don't know if I can make the last race in time (wife's not home). If I'm not there it's an even easier win for L-Tune. ;) :P

Lady luck's been shining on me today by the looks  Decided i wouldn't defend against that yellow IX/t after seeing how he got back to second, not pretty driving. Do i have the most wins now of the entire showdown (driver wise) 5 wins, a second and a would be third if i hadnt've stopped

yeah that yellow evo ix ruined my race. Was my fault though. I was slipstreaming off lars on the straight. he pulled right so i pulled left not realising the evo was there driving slow and went straight into him/her. Couldn't do much myself after that being 30+ seconds off the lead.

On the upside I did get a 1.49 with online boost and some clean air.

The yellow Evo was having a rather physical battle ahead of me, causing him to spin out. He was ghosting, so I could have passed through him. I didn't want to run the risk of him turning solid right before me, so I pulled right. Usually I never break line on a straight. Sorry I couldn't get into the last race, I have someone running around here which requires most of my attention. ;)

You should've seen the GT-R which took everyone out in the race me and pappy had. He took me out three times and pap at least once, i managed to get second overall behind that GTR, so technically i have 6 wins of 8 showdown races. Yay me :dopey:

So now i retire my position as a driver, and become a strictly free lance test driver for any or all of you guys for next time.

I'll work on the 4 way comparison Viper review next week.

Sorry I was such a f.. up today! I have to apologize for being quite slow. I just cannot cope well enough with the ****ty tyres. I'll be there again when the R3 tyres are back. Other then that I won't race and next to that I'm quite in love with GRID, blasting with a Lola LMP arround Spa or in the dark at Lemans is quite intense......o and did I mension the Audi R10!

Well even so I had a nice time on the track. The battles I had were fair! It was the very least an honor to drive again for TLD.

gtp_b24 punted a number of us off the track. Is he really a GTP driver?

Ooh, I look forward to it.

Oh dear, I lost a customer to GRID.:indiff:

gtp_b24 is a gtp driver. Just checked the registry. Contemplating whether to report him. I think he just needs to be told to be more careful not removed from the list as I felt the knocks i received were just unawareness of surroundings rather than deliberate punting. Unless anyone had definite punting during your race?

I was to far ahead to see :sly: Third spots almost guaranteed for L-T unless DCs drivers win every NTSC race. I can't complain about my finishes even if the way i got their wasn't thrilling.

Definite punting in our races. Being AWD he was able to put power down earlier. At first he was OK, but then he got impatient and just pushed me out of the way. I think doblocruiser might have had issues with him as well.

So what was the final score in the PAL battle for 3rd?

BTW, I forgive 888 Tuning for his mistakes. I think we need to be less competitive and more cautious in the future though. Sitting and waiting a few seconds is faster than having an accident. Oh, and don't weave on the straights. Annoys the hell out of me and is an illegal move.

4-0 to L tune. However Dutch customs did not race in the final race.

gtp_b24 was driving a viper when I was against him. Probably why the moves weren't as agressive.

3 - 0 and NL couldn't make the last race at all, so technically 4 - 0 depending on the rules, and guess who was first Viper home in all 4  I was the only one who got ahead of the pack to get away from the punters in the first 3 races.

If Dutch Customs didn't make the 4th race it should be re-scheduled. Unless he doesn't care about it.

Well he has a small one at his residence, so i think he's tied up, not to mention the racing was horrid, so let AROSA choose whether he wants to have that race, give us the win, or leave it at 3-0. Sound good?

He didn't care about it speaking to him on msn earlier. If he changes his mind though and wants a re-match for the final race thats fine.

No, the current score is fine. I had to get my 2-year old daughter out of bed so I missed the final race. And since I was the only DC driver, that means auto-loss. :D But that's fine with me. 👍 I enjoyed the other races, despite the punting.

Maybe the Garage Showdowns should start using a points system instead of having only the wins counts.

When only the wins count if feels like you're racing for nothing when you're far behind the leader and it really hurts when a punter gives you a 4 second penalty or knocks you off the track and you have no hope for the win

Also when only the win counts that encourages over aggressive driving to get to the front among GTP members

You may say what if there is 6 drivers from one garage and only 3 from another?

What you do then is only count the top 3 finishing drivers from each garage. If 4 from one garage show up and only 1 from another grage then you only count the top finisher from each garage towards the points.

Example

1. Tony - 888
2. Joes - TLD
3. Edss - TLD
4. FSS - TLD
5. Harold - DC

Tony would get first place points for 888, Joes second place points for TLD, and Harold 3rd place points for DC. Edss, and FSS gets no points because they are the worst finishing TLD drivers and since 888 tuning and DC only have 1 driver representing them only the top finisher for each garage will be counted towards points.

Now if:

Example

1. Tony - 888
2. Joes - 888
3. Rogg- DC
4. Edss - TLD
5. FSS - TLD
6. Harold - DC

Then drivers would be rewarded points normally from top to bottom because all garages have an equal number of drivers representing them in a race.

Or to really simplify it just score the top finishing driver of each tune for each race

Still plenty of time then. ;) J-Pap turned up in the final 30 seconds before race start. :P I turned up some 30 minutes before race start.
