@FoolKiller:

I did see you guys blowing yourselves up for a second then the connection was terminated. As far as I know, my connection was solid lastnight. ADSL 10M Down and 768K Up.

Where did you get that awesome skin? I was sporting my pirate/ninja.

After playing with Omnis last night I think I would definitely like to play through the entire story mode with others.

You get it after you beat The Collector (final boss).

I don't think it had anything to do with any of us individually, rather MM's servers.

You get it after you beat The Collector (final boss).
I still have a bit to go then.

A news release from media molicule has stated theres a patch due..........to enable you to import images into LBP instead of the usual camera method.......when?.....BEFORE christmas!
Great news! As much as I love the PS Eye, it still can't touch the quality of images from a HD still camera.

Just wait until it is 1:00 AM on a work night and you realize you have to get up in five hours.

It is even worse when you attempt to create a level.
I know, it's so brutal. I've been getting very little sleep. :)

I have two current LBP projects, one is to make some fun levels for the kids. My son is a huge fan of mazes, so I'm going to make one with a super long jet pack, and a more difficult one that he'll have to jump around and take elevators to get through.

The other project is to try and document all the various tools, goodies, prizes, etc that I find and where I found them to help build a database.

WAIT!!!!! The stickers can get that detailed on Sackboy? Oh, that's it. Between this and the PS3 Eye I am going to have some awesome looking Sackboys. Or I may get too lazy. either way.
You haven't heard the best of it yet... be prepared to have your mind blown...

So, now we can do stickers. I wish I could put objects on Sackboy so I could really go all out. What about the "decoration" stickers?
YES! All the decorations you have collected listed on the 2nd page of the "Sticker & Decorations" PopIt menu can be physically altered and attached to your sack persons! Once you have done that they will remain there until you use the Edit Tool, select it, and either move it or delete it. I suggest saving your costume after you are done though so you don't have to repeat it should you change costumes later on.

So, yes FK, now you can create your own flower child by covering your SackBoy with all those flowers and leaves you won playing through the Garden levels. :D

Quick note though: Without push-to-talk I highly recommend anyone with kids in the room playing with myself let me know in advance or keep my audio to your headset only. Video games can bring out the worst in my language. I don't want to offend anyone because I didn't realize they had kids who could hear me.
Good suggestion. I keep it set that way anyway, as I have a hard time hearing the voices when they are played over the same speakers as the game sounds and music. Having all the chat dedicated to my headset makes it so much easier to keep up with the chatter.

I would like a way to automatically not allow invites to even be sent. I have yet to be in a situation where I wanted to refuse one, but I know that when I am going through looking to get my 100% items I won't be wanting to be interrupted.
That's a great suggestion. You may want to pass that on to MM, I've heard they are very good at responding to requests.

After playing with Omnis last night I think I would definitely like to play through the entire story mode with others.
As much as I enjoy playing solo, I find playing with others has always been so much more fun!

As an added bonus, if someone is really good they can teach you "moves", or get you to the next checkpoint entry.

Another bonus a lot of people I have run into didn't realize is that when playing together it makes no difference who gets/finds the prize bubbles, when playing multi-player, EVERYONE get all the prizes that are discovered no matter who actually "popped" them. 👍

The only advantage to the person who popped them is the points in the event the game is being played competitively for points, and not a friendly co-op game.

Also, I was in Wal*Mart the other day and saw the Game Guide. It is 300 pages. I picked it up trying to figure out why it was bigger than any other I had ever seen. Sure enough, it had the entire story mode guide, but then the second half was what appeared to be an in-depth level creation guide. Has anyone gotten this? Is it worth it? As my main target goal is level creation I would love to get this and really attempt to fine tune my skills.
Did it list all the prize bubbles in the game???? If so I'd love to get a list of them to add them to the database!

I ran into this last night. It took Omnis and I about five tries to get connected. Then, while we were playing you and LaBounti both asked to join and I said allow, but I never saw you guys. We could have used the help as we kept blowing ourselves up.

I suspect like other games, if the host's connection isn't enough to support multiple players, some will get dropped, and sometimes everyone except the host.

I always recommend if you can, before starting a game with friends, have everyone do a quick ISP speed test (like speedtest.net) . Or if you all trust your ISPs, let who ever has the best upload speed be the host. 👍

See, and I thought I only had the main customization options. And I thought the funny face glasses with the tiny tophat was funny. I will spend tons of time on this alone.

I just like to make sure that is out there. It will be the first family-oriented game I have played online with voice chat, and no push-to-talk option, and I would hate to have something bad fly out. It is rare in this game, but when impact bombs and moving columns get together it can get pretty ugly.

That's a great suggestion. You may want to pass that on to MM, I've heard they are very good at responding to requests.
Hmm, I wil have to check their site for an email or comment area.

Yeah, I was busy flying my flying machine all over the place when Omnis gave me directions.

If/when I get it I will let you know. I just did a casual flip through as I was with my wife and she always gets impatient when I stop in the electronics section.

Well, it is possible that this was the case, although I have hosted before without problem. Because I am running only a 1meg download line I highly suggest anyone wishing to play with me invite me instead of asking to join.

It really is a blast. Just for fun I put a golden butterfly on the tip of the nose of the Minotaur costume... looks hilarious!

I also made my one creepy Halloween creature using the "Eye Spring" decoration, and placing multiple eye springs at max size all over my head... I had a lot of people asking where in the world did I find that costume accessory. :D

Some of the other little surprises I found quite enjoyable in LBP include the various photo modes/tools, which allow you to not only capture yourself and objects and stick them into the LBP universe, but you can also take "photos/adjustable screenshots" of LBP and your sackpersons and of your friends playing online. I thought it was also possible to take full HD quality screenshots of the game, but if so I have not been able to figure out how.

Another surprise I quite enjoyed is the really nice "screen saver", where it shows a generic sackboy running through lots of different environments featuring various sound effects.... it may be the only screen saver I actually like making pop up just to admire it. :D

Another marvelous surprise and perfect casting on the part of MM is that of Stephen Fry who does all the voiceovers for the various intros, video guides, and tutorials. 👍

He is an exceptional actor (a must see is his portrayal of Oscar Wilde in the film titled simply as Wilde). I suspect his marvelous voiceover performance as the actual "Guide" in the highly underrated and terrific film based on an even more brilliant book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - which is another must see film and even more of a must read book. 👍

 LBP simply continues to impress me beyond reason.

2008 Game of the Year by a landslide!

Strong contender for Game of the Decade. :D

Well I've got about 36 hours till release here in the UK and having been lucky enough to get on the beta I know how good it is.....could you all stop raving about adsactly HOW good the full game is till I get it as the suspense is killing me LOL

Raving? We're being calm compared to what we really want to say.

Since the release was delayed, other games took my attention. Now it's time to really dive in and see what it's all about. Now if I can just figure out how to make a Sack Boy carrying his hand towel, that would be awesome!

Use the decorations, as D-N described above.

And have I mentioned how much I love the smacking of other players? I though it would just be a small smack, but oh no! It is a full-on back-handed pimp slap that will knock you down.

I got this game the other day and frankly it has to be the most intuitive and creative game I have ever played. Its simply fantastic. SO glad I picked it up!

Edit: Oh and thanks foolkiller for making your level. I was able to get a 52x multiplier in it hahaha. And D_N I played your eriks test thing just to get the trophy for being one of the first 10 players to play a published level.

I'll check it out...., don't know if I have a towel decoration though.

 "It is a full-on back-handed pimp slap that will knock you down." Had a little nasal discharge on that one.....

Looking at the leaderboards I am absolutely surprised by the lack of people who have actually found that (poorly) hidden area. Getting everything in my level will give you an easy 140,000-150,000+ points and way too many people are sitting at under 3,000. I guess I hid it well,

I'll check it out...., don't know if I have a towel decoration though.
I'm sure there is something that will be close after playing through story modes.

You're not the only one.

As soon as I'm done with Lego Indy Jones I'll have to pick this up.

The funniest part is when someone smacks you and another person, and the smacker winds up falling down too.

Oh and the Jedi lightsaber battle stage is freakin awesome. The only thing that sucks is the starting point and that you have to jump together.

Now if I can just figure out how to make a Sack Boy carrying his hand towel, that would be awesome!
And a toothbrush, bag of peanuts, and THGTTG... oh and a little "Don't Panic" button and a "42" button on it's shirt. 👍:D

I really need to play that level all the way through. I only had time to do a quick explore mode, but it looked great and happy to heart both it and FK.

BTW: I did my best to heart everyone on my friend's list that has LBP as well as heart any levels they may have created, if I somehow left anyone out, just let me know!

And D_N I played your eriks test thing just to get the trophy for being one of the first 10 players to play a published level.
LOL, both those levels are my son's (Erik's) doing mostly. I just set them up for him and his sister to mess around with, and droped in a couple vehicles, like the mega tank and Batman's Tumbler.... which understandably are his favorites. :)

You would like the slapping! :) Personally, our family likes that you can hug each other, high five, and even play tug of war. :)

This game is ridiculously great. :D

Damnit, had to return the rental game the other day and I'm already missing it. Want to buy it but I have other stuff to take care of first before buying another new PS3 game. That has got to be hands down one of the best and creative games I have ever played!

Yeah, not sure. I'll have to check some port numbers maybe, I don't know. It's like it's connecting. I can see Omnis' crib, but then I get a "Failed to load all players profiles", that's me.

That happened to me once or twice too, but I got in a couple times.

Had a fun session with Digital-Nitrate without any connection issues. Not sure what the deal is.

Hey foolkiller great level man, I think I just beat your record :D.

P.S. I'm one of the noobs that did around 3000 points on my first go:ouch:.

Exactly!!! :D
Well, something close to a towel would possibly be a leaf decoration or a charm from The Islands theme.

I could make a 42 on his chest, and if it would let me put stickers on a decoration I could make a button, but it seems to prefer putting stickers on my skin, under the decorations.

Anyway, in my experimenting I managed a Tiki warrior thing with face mask and shield, and some leaves covering my crotch (I'm thinking and Adam and Eve set is next). I even used one of the skin materials that had small designs on it to make it look like either tattoos or war paint. Oh, and of course the Heavenly Sword strapped across my back.

I really need to play that level all the way through. I only had time to do a quick explore mode, but it looked great and happy to heart both it and FK.

It is far from finished. I feel that I have gotten the timed jumps with the alligators the way I want it, although I need to slow down the opening bit. I wanted to make it so that you couldn't save it if you went too late, but now if you stand on it you got thrown. So, I will adjust that slightly.

I also want to get rid of the guy that helps you up on the winch. I am thinking a ladder design in the background with a platform that just raises you up.

I'm also working on some ideas for the ponds in the original Pitfall that would disappear and reappear. I have a couple of ideas that I want to play with.

One thing I have noticed is that everyone who puts their level out and has you win objects doesn't like to share beyond that. They are all locked. You can't copy another level over and you can't reshare their objects.

P.S. I'm one of the noobs that did around 3000 points on my first go:ouch:.
Here is a hint for anyone that plays a level I create: If it is a platformer there will be a hidden area with a huge bonus. Always.

I need to do this, but not everyone is actually on when I am so I have trouble telling exactly who has the game and who doesn't without clicking on all of them.

I like the Tumbler. I may use it.

You would like the slapping! :)
An entire section of my DVD case is devoted to The Three Stooges. And I think I just got a new level idea....

Personally, our family likes that you can hug each other, high five, and even play tug of war. :)
You can high five? Sorry I never got past the slapping.

So I take it you guys are liking this game...
Nah, it's just a fad. We'll all be bored tomorrow. :sly:

Two of us seems to be fine, three starts to lag and four just never works.
Would it be worth trying it without headsets?

It all seems odd though. I think they need to get the online portion to communicate better with each other. There is nothing in the code that no one has natively on their game right now, so it seems like the data transfer shouldn't be too much more stressful than any shooter. I don't know.

Hopefully this gets worked out when they patch the online co-op creation in.

Theres going to be a co-op creation mode?? That would definitely be awesome. I hope it gets worked out too, cause Im seeing a lot of areas in the single player that 4 player co op is necessary to get all the extras.

And FK, one of the times that I was playing your level, I was down in the pit and I grabed the monkey's arm, and when i came up i hit the bottom of the green part, haha and the sponge fell off of the monkeys arm so I was stuck there forever.

In regards to the connection issue, I would be curious where everyone is located. It would be nice to see what everyone's ping is to get an idea min/max for a stable gaming experience.

I'm in NW Montana, so certainly West Coast and Mid-West connections would have a lower ping and certainly less hops in most cases. Not sure what the game developers can do to improve this.... I don't know anyone locally to try some 4 player coop. Wonder if it's any better.

Yep, 4-player co-op creation. You can already do it locally with four peopel on one system, but they dropped the online version in order to avoid a, um, delay.

Yeah, my most minor tweak is to move all the checkpoints up top.

I'm in central Kentucky, but my connection speed is, at best, 1mb down 250kb up.

So far how many hours have been spent on creating that level?

The thing is I initially thought I wasn't supposed to go on the top, I thought the whole level was on the bottom.

Kate ended up buying me the game over the weekend. It's not bad, although it's not my favourite game by any means. Kate and I will have fun with it for a while but past that I can't really seem myself playing it on my own, especially since I still have Fable II, Midnight Club, and Fallout to work through.

I just have one question though, where can I unlock the Russian uniform? I so want my little dude to wear that.
