I think my player one controller profile is corrupt. I play with controller one active, I have to change it to controller 2 and up to play. What a pain.... Not sure what to do. This happened after the latest PSN System Update.
Well, I deleted my profile (saved game) and started over. I wasn't too far into it so no big deal, but what if I had been months into it when all of a sudden your profile won't load. *concerned*
What is a player one controller? Are you referring to the
controller port, and if so, do you mean that any controller that you have assigned to port 1 isn't working?
This is the first I have heard of any problem like that. Is it only in LBP where port 1 doesn't work or does it fail to communicate with the PS3 entirely?
If this is true, and nothing changed after doing a reboot of the system, I'd recommend you run the
Backup Utility in order to save all the content on your HDD to an external drive. This way, worst case scenario, you won't have to worry about losing any content or settings.
After that, I'd visit Sony's online
PS3 Support Center as well as their
PlayStation Tech Central forum and see if anyone has reported anything similar, and or contact someone about the problem you are having and see what they recommend.
I wish I could be more helpful, but this is the first I have ever heard of anything like this. I hope you are able to resolve this issue. I know there are some games that require a controller to be assigned to the #1 port, so if this is the problem you are having it definitely needs to be addressed.
That sounds like the 'Wedding Reception' level. Don't worry your not alone, that one is doing me in as well, I've never been a big platform game player and I think my lack of experience in timing jumps 'just right' is showing here.
I'm determined not to give up however (and its great that you can go off and play lots of created levels to let off steam as well), mainly because I love to look of that level.
That's the same level Pako and I were goofing off in. The trick to that level is using the momentum of the "jaws", and spring boards (like trampolines), to increase dramatically the height of your jumps. It just takes some practice, but the key is to jump just as the thing you just landed on is moving up... like a trampoline. When done at just the right time, you'll progressively jump higher and higher, because like a trampoline, the higher you jump the more force you put on the spring boards when you land, and thus can then jump even higher. 👍
The part that Pako and I got smacked around a bunch was timing our jumps across the large skulls that open their mouth to reveal the landing area. The funny thing though is once we got the timing down, it was very easy. The most important thing is the last jump, as it is easy to jump to far, or continue running and thus fall into the death gas below.
The next time you guys see someone on your Friend's List online you should invite or join them and play through the level you are stuck on. Even if you just die between every checkpoint as long as the other guy completes the level you get credit for completion on your own system.
Not only that, but all the bubble prizes that are found are shared by all players regardless of who actually "pops" them, so if you are also having trouble locating a lot of the hidden bubbles and parts of the levels, by playing with someone in the know they can help you locate and earn overlooked items. 👍
Last night I was playing with Omnis and Dead Poetic when we all got signed out of the PSN. No clue what that was about. Instead of trying to go back and play I decided it was late and went to bed.
It may have been related to the system update and preparation for the update of the PSN stores.
Speaking of which, I noticed they released a demo for MGS4 on the Japanese PSN store. I downloaded it, but have not played it yet to see if it offers an English language option, but maybe they'll be releasing an English version for other regions today or in the near future?
