Some new splits for me, with special thanks to paulie who's tune makes my final laptime over a second faster! 👍

T1: 52.714
T2: 1.39.447

You are obviously not only a fast driver but also a good tuner. Should you ever feel the urge to share a tune I would be more than happy to help you out... :dopey:

Here is the tune I've been developing over the week. I'm not done yet, but if it helps anyone to go faster then I'll be happy. Please note that I am not a tuner so I change settings and 'feel' if the car handles any better etc. I'm probably going to change this tune over the next few days, especially after looking at Paulie's tune, as I have the utmost respect for the way he tunes a car.

thanks to Duke and Vince_Fiero for tuning help 👍 I hope to give this a more serious effort, but my mind keeps wandering :dopey:

First run:

T1: 52.090
T2: 1'38.590

with R3/R2 tires. A lot of tweaking required.

52.192
1'38.487

Further evidence how rubbish I am at tuning a car. Tried both Animera's and Paulie's tunes and were quicker with both than my previous best. Paulie's tune yielded the best results with some minor tweaks to suit my style better.

Thanks for sharing to both of you. 👍

Paulie... You are a flipping genius. Not only did your tune shave ample seconds off my time it's also so much fun to drive, it's the 'funnest' thing to drive around Suzuka, was enjoying it so much that I forgot the motorcycle chicane and almost lost my best lap ghost didn't even realize until i got and the straight before T2.

I now just have to find a good rhythm and see if I can shave of some more time..
Thanks Paulie

Before

T1 54.765
T2 1'43.416

After
T1 53.198 53.297
T2 1'41.920 1'41.372

That's just with only 5 laps Slower T1 , faster T2 and almost whole second faster at the line

Thank you for the settings suggestion. I actually like the gearing from your post much better than what I had come up with. I am still struggling however to put a whole good lap together :/

Had a quick go just for fun and man am I rusty, I can barely keep a driving line  May try again later and if I'm not 2 seconds back on T2, I'll let y'all know.

EDIT - About 2 hours in and I can't seem to best a 52.4 T1 and/or a 1:39.0 T2. Went to london in the same car in arcade and got a top 50 time *shrugs*

First decent lap:

0'51.784
1'38.633

Still need quite a bit of work near the motorcycle chicane as you can see from me sector 2 time.

Thanks for the kind words everyone for my tune.:) Don't feel bad though if it's not working for you, I figured it would be a hit and miss for most people on a car like this.

LOL, well unless I hit an absolute perfect lap I don't think I could beat that, so well done mate.:) It also means if things get hectic I don't have to worry about putting in more laps unless 3rd place catches right up.:sly:

stiffened up the rear springs and more camber as well. I'm still all over the place and I keep braking too early for the chicane.

Animera, I was just about to try your tune and I noticed that camber angle was left out. Would you mind posting it for me please?

Thanks

Sorry, my camber angles are 1.3/1.9.
Also just had a T1 of 51.282 but then binned the motorcycle chicane. :(

This is a fantastic combo, the motorcycle chicane is very difficult to get right.

Juhu, finally some seat time :D, starting my first stint now to get something onto the board at least.
No time to mess around, so starting off the bat with Paulie's tune! From what I see here it must be rather brilliant! Thanks for sharing

Edit: This is fun, but up til now no decent lap strung together... the chicane is genius, well done Kev! First splits as entry:

52.593
1'39.153

I was checking my replay to make sure it is clean before submitting as the entrance to the motorcycle chicane is very close, and took this pic.

Sorry EDK, I know you said last week to try not have such close calls, but it wasnt intentional and it is clean if only by a small margin.

I've submitted my time.
Good luck guys.

looks clean.

nice setup Animera. 👍 just try toe +0.20. ;)

my splits so far.
51,358
1.37,435

lost around 0,2-0,3 tenth in spoon. :ouch: so i´m not happy with my time.
maybe, but only maybe i will have one more shot at sunday.

btw, check the online time Animera. :dopey:

 Yeah, that online time was a lap where I saw I was not going to make the turn in to the motorcycle chicane, so I went straight.
Wow!! 0.002.

Used a mix of Animera & Paulies tunes. Thanks guys:tup:

Quick question, how are you guys getting the screenshots like the one Animera posted above? I can't figure out how to pinpoint pause it like that, looking back, at a ghost.

I'm sure it's something quite easy that I'm just not thinking of.:dunce:

For that picture I turned around at the start, and drove the track backwards to that point, where I stopped to take the picture. Pausing it at the right moment is a bit of trial and error, so you may have to try a few times before you get the pause where you want it.

:ouch: I knew it was something easy! Thanks Animera:tup:

Still a couple of tenths in T1, happy with my T2 though, even if my chicane is like Animera's only more slidey! Seen a few .9s in T1. Just a case of being smooth, really.

Finally got another run at this combo.

After running outrageously wide at the first corner, and completely guffing up Spoon, I have some new splits using Paulies tune,

Very BIG thanks for sharing that Paulie, and Animera for sharing his 👍

Still lots to improve on, so it's back to the track for me!
