Then he should have kept it to himself! He could have played his little game with us only after he was able to finish what he started.:dunce:

The same could be said for every little piece of information we have received thus far. They hold no truth until they actually make it to the final game.

Personally, I think we should make it into a contest. Everyone guesses one car, but no one can guess a car that has already been guessed by another member. When Famine can tell us what it is he does and we have a winner.

Of course, it could be a long wait, or her could tell us tomorrow.

See, people can get all in a twist, for some unfathomable reason, or we can have fun with it. Personally, I prefer the one that sounds less like pointless complaining.

Not defending or attacking anyone, i like the fact we have to make a guess actually, due to restrictions or legal reasons.
At least we have quite a lot of clues and the only way to make an educated guess is deducting the existing car lists and interpret the clues properly.
Some have made it out to be an extremely important car because of all this speculation, although it was started by saying it was interesting news considering one model and its implications therefor for the whole brand.
We have at least something to talk and speculate about, otherwise we had the usual chatter.
Anyway i still stick with my first guess ( Bentley Continental, for reasons i made clear in previous posts ) as no one has made a convincing case yet it couldn't be and i can't think of anything else.

I really don't know where to start! I must confess, that when I was compiling my erroneous lists, Bentley was one of the ones that stood out the most.

Also, to those who are complaining that Famine has teased us and "refuses" to divulge further for the time being, what does it really matter if He (sic.) is on a power trip? For what it's worth, I really don't think it's the case - but either way, what right do you have to be upset by that? This is a public forum, and things can be posted from practically any source - it's entirely down to you how you interpret this and what you do with the information.

In short, those who feel cheated only have themselves to blame. Quite frankly I'm glad that a bit of zeal has been injected into the discussion, whilst disappointed that certain individuals get so haughty and holier-than-thou - this guess the car game should be fun! 👍

Question to Famine and not about a car. Will the the flood gates open with information on GT5 at E3?

ps. I would rather know the release date of GT5, instead of what car is coming to GT5!!

I believe (unless I've missed any out) that the car Famine knows about must come from one of the below manufacturers.

ASL
Autobianch
Bentley
Cadillac
Callaway
Caterham
Cizeta
DMC
Dome
Eagle
Fiat
Gillett
Ginetta
Holden
Hommell
Hyundai
Infiniti
Jensen Healey
Lexus
Lister
Marcos
MG
RUF
Saleen
Seat
Shelby

Just a little nudge for anyone who still wants to guess.

No car yet, in my opinion, has been such a surprise and a treat like the McLaren F1. And we're talking about a NEW manufacturer to the series..... So it it's hard to believe we'll get something spectacular from a manufacturer ALREADY in a GT title. But, I anticipate it, nonetheless.

People like Famine are only here to cause a big stir in the thread. Look If your gonna reveal something then do it and don't stir people up, and learn how to tease as well because saying a new car will be revealed isn't even teasing.

Your meant to tease the company of that car in some way, not say a cars coming and then run away, and what are you scared of if you reveal it? Yamauchi lol. Sony won't come after you because they know coming after someone revealing things about a video game is just stupid.

If I had inside knowledge I would reveal everything heck! I would reveal Sony's entire E3 press conference if I knew about it.

Well, March 20th and we have not nothing, we know just the game will be out in 2010, no more. 6 months from TGS and no new info. Frustrating...

Famine was just trying to give us something to look forward to and some hope.

Despite excessively posting here I am in no position to criticise Famine and I'm sure any new members doing so are out of line. Unless you have read all of Famines posts and what he has done for the community then please don't abuse him.

This is so apt:

I have a theory 💡

Judging by the way Famine stated that the car is 'good news', I'm going to assume it is a car that Famine himself likes.

Now, looking at some posts in the GT4 tuning section:

They never made one with more than a 1.1, and the only Panda in the game is a 1.0 - the FIAT Panda Super i.e. '90. So your list is:

FIAT 500L '69
FIAT 500R '72
FIAT 500F '65
Toyota Sports 800 '65
Honda Z-Act '70
Honda N360 '67
Honda Life Step Van '72
Ford Ka '01
Marcos Mini Marcos GT '70
Honda CR-X 1.5i '83 (this one is called the Honda Ballade Sports CR-X 1.5i '83 in the PAL version)
Honda Civic 1500 25i '83
Honda Today G '85
Citröen 2CV Type A '54
Volkswagen Beetle 1100 Standard '49
Subaru 360 '58
Mazda Carol 360 Deluxe '62
FIAT Panda Super i.e. '90

On the upside, much better post and you've picked some of my favourite cars.

Note that last sentence.

There are a lot of Fiats in this list. Fiat was on the list of cars not yet confirmed for GT5.

Favourite on your list? The FIAT Panda by a mile.

He likes the Fiat Panda. But that has the letter P.

So By the process of elimination (Well, by eliminating all manufacturers apart from Fiat) I'm going to hazard a guess that it is a Fiat 500. Possibly the Abarth version?

Oh and guys, quit pestering Famine, don't question his motives on not telling us the car in question any further, because he has already stated several times why he can not say.

Really?

Yes. His last post would be a better indication than his last login date. His last post was February 7th, in the GT1 forum. His second to last post was December 23rd, the post where he said his goodbyes. So he is no longer an active member of this community. And he certainly isn't actively divulging any information like he has very kindly done so in the past. He could be the source of Famine's mystery car, but I doubt it.

And this is why you would never be trusted with information, and would be fired in the process.

i remember watching an old gt4 video were polyphony was test driving a bunch of cars for the game and one of them was an ariel atom.

i dont think it was in previous versions but it certainly would be a great add to gt5 even if its not famine's car

Knowing Amar, I'm pretty sure you've got that backwards.

Not from where I stand. And it's all there for everyone to see. Just for the sake of backing up my claims:

And how on Earth would you produce JAGGIES on the CAPTURE CARD?

Sorry my dear kid, but sometimes many of you really fail on test of primal inteligence.

BTW I have a Pioneer 720p plasma and I literally do not have almost any jaggies on my screen, from any game, not just GT. So, maybe you should buy yourself a decent screen instead of complaining.

I love how he's rude and wrong in this post, what ends up with him insulting himself. And of course there are more like this one out there.

Sure, I'm grateful for all he's done to this community, but he can't claim to be a victim when he's clearly not. And I wonder why people try to defend him still.

I'm starting to think you may be correct.
Famine wrote this in post# 8713

That all still stands and, as you can see, there are multiple reasons - my reputation, implications for the sources, PD's personal fiat when it comes to cars' covers being broken early - why I'm seeking clarification on what I'm allowed to say.

Fiat, while grammatically correct, is not an often used word in this instance, at least where I'm from.

Probably because even if you are being an ass on a message board it doesn't warrant people making threats on your life. That would probably be the last straw.

Holy crap! He went all Derren Brown on us! Damn, I hate that man - but can't help admiring him...

Edit: I swear it used to say penchant... :odd:
