I was joking. I know PD is famous for adding tons of skylines to their GT games, so I thought I'd make fun of them a bit.

You should have expressed it as such then.

The last thing we need is someone reading GTPlanet - the internet's largest GT resource - seeing a member stating:

Sam48
GT5 has 1000 cars

20% are GTRs
50% are Skylines,
30% are the rest

And reporting that back to the rest of the internet, and print media, as "GTPlanet says..."

Man, GTP is serious business. :scared:

I can't misjudge any press member as daft, just because he trusted unconfirmed info from a forum on the web, that's because GTP is the greatest and richest source of information regarding Gran Turismo worldwide, and GT5 news are very easy to find, exactly as ET's. :grumpy:

Back on topic, I don't mind to have dozens of skylines if we get appropriate events where we can use almost all of them. Only a 'Race of the Red Emblem' isn't enough, Why not a R34 cup, or R32 Challenge? Or an endurance only raced by skylines? Or a R33 Drag Racing Championship? Having 40 skylines parked at the garage is a bad thing, racing the very same 40 skylines might be cool. ;)

If you only knew how many times I've seen the GTPlanet GT4 Car Wishlist, from seven years ago, posted on other internet sites as the actual car list even after the game was released, and as recently as last August, you'd explode.

And though that was clearly marked as a wishlist, a gaming site "borrowed" it and translated it into (amusingly) Portuguese. Everyone else in the world got hold of it and, because they didn't bother to translate anything but the cars, posted it as GT4's carlist. We were getting it posted back here twice a week in the days leading up to the release.

I have to say that I am truly amazed that someone who uses the Internet enough to host their own news site/blog didn't think that just maybe the Guides button would have more accurate information than the forums.

Didn't the last line give it away? "DLC's used for any Skylines/GTRs PD forgot". Anyways, I'll be a little more serious next time, or make the joke much more obvious.

Or, alternatively, not spam up this thread - which is dedicated to gathering facts about GT5's car list - with irrelevant nonsense.

Being french, I'd love to hear the real man talking on this audio file. Not the english translator as he may have misunderstood the Peugeot man.
Anyway that seems unlikely so it's great news !

there is a french interview with Xavier on YouTube, but my french is not good enough to understand what they're talking about.

I just saw that video but nothing is said about Gran Turismo.
If you can provide a video of the Eurosport interview, that would be much appreciated by everyone here I think ;)

First, sorry for the double post but I have a suggestion to improve the Car List.
Maybe some of you saw the Car List for Forza 3 on Forza Central. If not, here's the link :

I like the image link that shows a ingame picture of each car uncovered so far.
I think it would be nice to add that feature to our Car list because I can't find sources for several cars in the list. Therefore, a picture would be a great help.
I know some cars have only been confirmed by magazine, websites or statements from PD/Kaz but it would be great to have a pic for almost every car known at the moment.

Any thoughts ? Good/Bad idea?

PS : I already have a pic for almost each car on the list ;)

Yeah,I'm liking that idea,I wish sony/pd would do what T10 did with forza's release (show a new car every day or week til its release), I know we obviously don't have the date yet but it would be a nice touch.

I found another picture of the GT5 DEMO

Hi all!

WARNING : long post !!!

So, I've been looking for pic of every confirmed car so far and I've added a link to it on the car list below.
Several cars are missing, I haven't found a pic for each car but that's when you come in and help me.
Also, if you find better pic for a car (for example : the Amuse 380RS), feel free to add the link.

Finally : if the359 is okay with what I've been doing, he could add it to the first post. Him or a moderator if you find this helpful.
That way, people looking for sources could find them directly on the car list. This is something similar to the Forza 3 carlist on the Forzacentral Forum and I thought it was a great idea.

Any comments are very welcomed ;)

The cars in this thread will be marked according to how they are known to us at the moment. The system will be as follows:
Cars in black have been seen in screenshots or have been confirmed by Polyphony through lists
Cars in red have been seen being photographed and tested by Polyphony for the purposes of modeling and may or may not be in GT5
Cars in green have been mentioned by magazines or in interviews as being in the game, yet have not been seen. Also may not be in GT5
Cars featured in the "Vision Gran Turismo" video which were new paintjobs.

Also note that this is not a complete list and there are still plenty of cars to find.

How so? It was in GT5P.

You should read the general news thread, Famine reported that Aston apparantly signed a deal with MS for supplying software to their cars and which also unwittingly limited them supplying software to other parties ( like Sony/ PD ).
It's all a bit confusing and nothing is confirmed yet, however it could mean we won't see Aston for the very first time in GT.

I fail to see how a company like Sony would sign a company upto GT5:Prologue but not GT5. I can see that they perhaps didn't sign them up to GT:PSP before the MS deal was done, but it would make all the sense in the world for whatever was licensed to be in GT5:P to have been licensed for GT5 at the same time. If it was then MS's agreement doesn't really matter as far as GT5 would be concerned as that would have been signed first. It could be a worry for future GT releases though.

@Fido le Muet- You forgot the Lexus LFA. Kaz confirmed it himself in an interview not tpo long ago.
