But the issue is how localization will work. There are cars in GT PSP that are exactly the same but have different names based on their region, which in past GT console versions were just one car with the localized name based on what region your copy of the game was for.

So, the question is, and no one has answered when I asked them directly in a GT-based post on the PlayStation Blog, does all cars mean that we will have three cars; Hyundai Tiburon, Hyundai Tuscani, and Hyundai Coupe, or will we just have one car named based on whatever it is in your region?

Same thing for Mazda6 or Mazda Atenza.

So that unanswered question is why they have not been added to the list (I believe), because it is possible to have all the cars without actually having every car in GT PSP, and no one at Sony/PD is clarifying.

Sorry to quote an ancient thread. However what about cars that werent duplicated. Or on the list why dont we put.

Mazda 6/Atenza

just wanted to clear a few things up about the LFA. It's not an 09' model year car. it's officially going to be an 11' or 12' model year car. Unless Kaz decided to use the pre-production prototypes that have been swirling around (there's only 4 in the world). The 09' shouldn't be used because that was only the year in which the car was shown in production trim. It hasn't been officially released yet. Another thing about the LFA in terms of speed. Car and driver just did a test of it in pre-production trim WITHOUT launch control and hit 60 in 3.7 and quarter mile in 11.8 @ 124mph. And pulled 1.0G on their 200ft. skidpad test. This is a pre-production prototype without launch control. These stats equal the SLS AMG. Around the Top Gear track it's lap time was 3 seconds faster than any other car in the wet. The next car was a Gallardo, with 4wd and probably less weight. Not too shabby, eh?

The Gallardo LP 560-4 weights 1550kg, the LFA weights 1480kg, the LFA is built from carbon fiber and uses a V10 which weights less than the Nissan's regular 3.7 aluminum block V6, there's a ultra lightweight racing flywheel which put rotational mass of the engine at a minimum, it's RWD which is lighter and provide lighter and more accurate steering, the engine is mid-front mounted enabling a clever weight distribution and a relatively docile behaviour and many other details. It's obvious for it to be faster than the SLS or the Gallardo, the LFA is a pure blood racing machine. :D

Talking about pre-production models, the LFA is scheduled for late 2010. Maybe we can see an official coupled debut, GT5 and LFA. The car is japanese as the GTR (GTR + GT5P), so it's possible.

I think the LFA is just a suped up version of the FT-86. They look pretty similar. It wouldn't be surprising to see both cars in the game. (Don't they both have the old Supra L6?)

How? The LF-A was being made before the FT-86 concept so how is that even possible? Also:

Other then both cars being front engine, I spot no similarities. And no they don't have the L6 engine, the LF-A has a 4.8L 1LR-GUE V10 engine while FT-86 has a 2.0L D4-S Flat-4 Boxer engine

No, the LF-A has a V10 afaik and if i remember correctly, the FT-86 has a Subaru Boxer engine.

Both correct, the FT-86 has a Subaru Boxer-4, and the production version will also have that engine and rear-wheel drive.:)

Yep, the FT-86 has a Subaru flat engine, Subaru and Toyota co-developed the coupe, that's why Subaru is providing the powerplant, the LFA on the otherside has a superb V10, which makes extensive use of titanium and aluminium, that's why the LFA's V10 ( Toyota's own engine, rumored to be in the next Lotus Esprit ), is compact as a V8 and light as a V6. (This is not a Richard Hammond's quote, I've saw either in autocar or insideline that the LFA's V10 weights less than the Nissan 3.7 V6, that you can find in a 370Z. Awesome work from Toyota. 👍 )

Oh, yeah, and sound better than any Ferrari V12. ;)

i said and probably less weight, meaning the LFA weighs less than the Gallardo, not the opposite. But the LFA's actual weight can vary depending on trim. So before you go off and proclaim that you know everything, do more research. And according to Car and Driver, the as tested weight of the LFA was more than the as tested weight of the LP560-4.

the LFA= 3583 lbs. link here
the LP560-4= 3507 lbs. link here

so depending of the driver and configuration, the LFA can be said to weigh as much or MORE than the Gallardo

Why Audi TT and not RS6? After R8, RS6 is the top performance from Audi. The lack of A3, very popular in tunning community is also really bad.

This is a list of the car confirmed so far. No Audi A3 or RS6 is confirmed yet. That doesn't mean they won't be in the game in the end. That doesn't mean they will be in either...

They have some similarities, no wonder since both are Toyotas, but the LF-A is for sure not just a souped up FT-86.

And yes, I agree with all the comments here made about the V10 engine from the Lexus! 👍

How is it's fuel consumption though?

Because if lightness and power output are important, Rotary engines are the way to go :)

this is just an off topic question: has anyone heard of or seen any confirmation of the 5th gen camaros being in gt5? i desperately hope they are in the game, being that they are by far my favorite car in existence right now, but the fact that they arent confirmed on the list yet scares me :( i know that some cars wont be known about until release day, but i guess im just looking for someone to reassure my thought that there is no way they could leave it out...lol

Very few cars have been confirmed, we know slightly over 100 so there are still 900 we aren't sure of. I would say there is a good chance of the new Camaro being in the game though.

99.9% of cars from GTPSP will be in the game since I remember reading GTPSP models being based on gt5 and not gt4. Also since gtpsp cars are transferable to gt5, you have to imagine they already are coded into the game.

I have no idea, but it would fit into Obama's cash for guzzlers program for sure. ;) A V10 is always a V10, but if this car is "green" I'm sure endurances in GT5 will be a lot easier if you don't have to pit at each four laps at the ring, are you listenin to that Viper?

I'm hoping that isn't true though since there are a lot of duplicates in GTPSP.

It's gran turismo, of course there will be duplicates.

Have you played GTPSP? There are literally entire manufacturer catalogs duplicated. (Opel and Vauxhall have literally the same lineup).
