It's sometimes hard to understand sarcasm through the internet, specialy when it's not in your native language, that is my case :)
I don't remember well, but I think I got a 1:31.0 in your car.
It's easier to drive compared to the other speedster, but it has a little less grip. But I'm going to try a little more before putting it on the list.

Prainao, that board is really really confusing, Why write "4 minutes and 120 seconds" instead of just "6 minutes"?
 
Thank you for the words. I really don't see how I can make a faster lap with that car. And I've tested it for 80~90min. I've tested, for example, praiano63's car for about 25min.
I will test again the cars that I think that have a little more to give, like the TT. I will problably test all the top cars again.

I would like to ask the_dr_slump and mafia_boy to add me on PSN, beacuse I can't add them because they have reached the max number of friends.

I tought that this car would be hard to drive, but it isn't. I felt like I was driving a formula car, very much grip on the corners. I think that the bad time is explained because of low engine power. It was a pleasure to drive it!

Yet another fantastically quick lap..!! As I've just said to Praiano, you Brazilians are amazingly quick.

You're entirely right that power restricts this car. I think it's been poorly implemented by Polyphony. If the car started with 100kg more than it does, had a more suitable engine and if the custom gearbox could replicate real life settings, then it could be turned into a blindingly fast car.

Understeer. That&#8217;s the biggest issue with this. Ignoring the steering, which feels heavy and blunt, the lack of feel through said steering, the lack of grunt, ignoring all that, the biggest issue is the understeer. You can&#8217;t stop it by means of gunning it or being aggressive, it&#8217;s just too woolly to be fun.

On another note, I finally managed to break writer's block, so expect a few runs to be done by me starting today. Also accompanied by a short note, of course. 👍
 
I can start playing again on the 20th, but I am really, really busy then, since I have two online things scheduled, a ton of seasonals to do (plus probably another one by the end of this week) and a lot of getting used to the cars. However since I do have till the end of the 20th I might be able to try a few of your tunes. It would screw up Prai's spreadsheet but it can't hurt to have a go considering I've missed all of the shootout :)

Yes my friend, it'll be good , easy to insert yours 3 coluns and times,no problems. More testers = more "acurate average" results.

Final Times Added!

Testing equipment is a DFGT on manual, ABS on 1 and a driver of dubious skill, caffinated to the eyeballs.

Times are the culmination of several short runs, totalling 22 to 25 laps per tune. The comments are after the first run. Subsequent runs were about going faster, not evaluating. And all but a couple did go much faster!



madmyk - Pagani Zonda C12 ’00

For me this is a hell of an improvement over the stock, from the dealer car. I could actually make it go straight after a corner! Seems quite planted, while still allowing a bit of the wild side of Pagani to come through. Nice placement of the gearing, but a little shorter 3rd to 4th might help me a little.

Yay. AWD. Beautiful gears. Turns remarkably well. Praiano has given this beast just the right amount of lift-off oversteer. The car just needs to turn in to corners, and gets out of them just as quickly.

You know the expression ‘on the tip of my tongue’? I just know that this car is faster than that, I just can’t get it there. I don’t know why. The gearing is as near to perfect as I can imagine it. It’s hard to get it to spin (as much as one can say that about a high powered MR). Perhaps it has been taken a little too far to the understeer side of things.


CSLACR - BMW M3 CSL ’03

Ok. So I really, really like this tune. But. That first run time was the only green lap under 1:40 that I could do. I now understand the corkscrew better because this car just loves it. Edit. I had a think about it, and went back refreshed. Took a second and a half off my first run time, and stayed consistent and green.


ASCR421 - Audi TTS Coupe ’09
1:30.773

Yes, there’s the AWD understeer I was expecting. Not much mind, but enough to make it annoying. This tune is a very smooth and consistent drive. Not much goes wrong, even when pushed past the limit.

The go-kart on steroids. I have spent no time with this car in the game prior to this test, but I do sort of like it. Just one thing to learn. Braking is for sissies. This car and tune require supreme control over accelerator and steering. Get it just the slightest bit wrong, and you’re doing doughnuts into the barriers/sand/grass/whatever is next to the black stuff.


Temetias - Opel Speedster Turbo’00
1:32.911

So, it’s good and fast, but there’s something of a spark that’s missing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not boring to drive. It will power-slide without notice or much cause, it drives well into corners, and has a decent pickup. The car can be taken to the edge and still be drivable, but if you’re standing on the edge and you haven't cut your toenails, round and round you go. But there’s still that spark...


dr_slump - BMW M3 Coupe ’07

Sorry, but I couldn’t find anything to like with this tune. The steering felt quite heavy, I don’t know if it’s even possible for GT5 to simulate this, but there you go. While I think I could figure out the correct shift point (7 - 7.5K), I’m just not sure why that was necessary. Maybe I was just in a mood each time I tested this. Again, sorry.


shmogt - Lamborghini Miura

Wow. Just too cool. This is another car I haven’t yet seen fit to add to my garage. I think my early times suffered as a result. The noise is just amazing. Please excuse me while I reach for my wallet! The tune is just as shmogt said. Once I got past my infatuation with the low rev engine note, I realised that I couldn't drive without first under, then oversteeing in one movement of the wheel. However this is a car that is worthy of changing everything to drive properly, so I did. I’m in love! Thanks shmogt for having the courage to bring this to the table.


XDesperado - Audi Pikes Peak Quatro ’03

For a big-assed Kirribilly shopping trolley, this car sure hates dirt, and loves to put the boot before the bonnet. Even so, I’d love to do the school run in this sucker. For once it seems that power is the answer. It could be a little too responsive to the wheel, but only the tiniest bit. Other than that, a fantastic job with such a lump of steel.


mafia_boy - Lamborghini Gallardo ’08

This is what happens when you grab the bull by the horns to distract it while someone cuts it’s fun bits off. It just doesn’t seem to have the pickup that I would expect from a 5 litre V10. It’s also a bit hard to point towards the apexes. Unfortunately this was just a bit of a struggle for me.


AssassinTuner - BMW M3 ’04

Nice work with the base model M3. Not quite right for my style however. I feel that a shorter gearing all round would have seen this in the low 30s. Also I needed to have a slightly lighter right foot to truly harness all the horses properly. I will be putting this tune on my M3 as a fine foundation tune.


krenkme - Opel Speedster Turbo ’00
1:33.038

A much more controllable version of the speedster. Easily directable and stable. Very consistent in the lap times achieved. I did find myself having to short shift to avoid wheelspin after the sharp corners (probably my over eager right foot), but I found not much else wrong for me.

This is an exceptionally balanced and consistent tune. The times fell away by the tenths each lap. I could find neither under nor oversteer, just the correct direction to go.


Slayer1002 - BMW M3 CSL ’03

This is a really nice smooth car. There is a hint of oversteer in sharp cornering, and a little instability over the bumpy bits in the main straight, but these are the only issues (apart from the butt-ugly wing)


Jackthelad - Audi R8 4.2 ’07

I’m really beginning to like the R8 thanks to this shootout. The brakes on this one are fantastic. Just right for my left foot. It’s possible that a tweak or two to the suspension and diff might give this the extra drive through the low speed corners.

While I am in no doubt that the stock suspension of the M5 is amazing, I can’t help but wonder what a custom setup for this track might accomplish.


Zero_speed - Lotus Evora ’09

Very cool. An MR I can make go fast. And without really trying too hard. Don’t get me wrong, I did my usual quota of smashing into barriers, digging holes in sandtraps etc., but getting consistently fast lap times was fun. It turns well, it accelerates well, and the gearbox is used almost to the limit.


bigberry - Lamborghini Countach LP400 ’74
1:32.274

I do wish that I could have made this car go faster, it is a legend after all. Unfortunately, what I found was the understeer present into and through a corner restricted the amount of speed I could carry during cornering. And of course trying to gain any time back at the exit caused the car to turn around, as if it was trying to say “Look at that corner, fool. That’s where you went wrong!”

If there is a driver's choice award, it has to go to CSLACR's M3 due to the revelation about the track it brought me.👍

Guess for future reference I'll need to make the rear feel a little tight with the ds3 so it stays planted better for wheel users. (Note I did this, tightened the rear a bit, with the Viper SRT10 ACR "Slacker Edition" special tune for CSLACR who likes it a lot.) Definitely not going to complain about time though as you have the Bergmeister in 4th currently.:D:gtpflag:

Since it was CSLACR who also commented about the rear liking to come around with a wheel, I would say you've learned pretty well. Hard not to listen to what a WRS D1 Silver (pushing for that truly alien Gold rating) has to say about handling issues.:lol:

Yeah. My next mission (if C-Zeta's next public shootout is what I think he's been alluding to) will be to have a bash at qualifying for the WRS. I think that that sort of competitive repetition will seriously help my driving. I just hope there's a Division 7 Lead for beginners.:dopey: It's also what I bought the wheel for in the first place.

Yeah, I agree that we're fast drivers...But I think you wouldn't like to ride a brazilian road in real life, people here are crazy behind a wheel! :)
BTW, if I could get back to my childhood, I would ask my father to start a racing driver carrer on kart. I'm 18 now, pretty old to start :)
If brazilian drivers had a little more incentive, I really think that brazilian's F1 would be like old times...

Thanks for this test, good to see my tune do well for the moment. Just waiting for the rest and i know they are fast too.

Sorry for dr_slump, i know very well his car , it's perfectly balanced on the ring and many others tracks. But i think he decide to participate to the shootout on the late hours before deadline and put his car with his normal configuration . Laguna is not normal at all. Perhaps that's why.
But it didn't take out the high quality of his tune. I can tell this.
