It does seem an American only thing, we are getting a whole TWO items for purchase today.

I went to the Guitar Hero space today. The mini game that you can play is like Simon says, only 8 players can play at one time and their are up to ten rounds if everyone last that long. you use the Square, X, Triangle and Circle buttons the first round starts off with 3 or 4 cords and then they add one cord every round till round 10 and you rack up points for how good you can repeat the button sequence, but mess up once and your out

Me too, I did the same thing. I had to make my guy a bit fatter though, otherwise I looked like a kid in a soldier uniform.

The puzzles in the hub are nice. Not all of them are easy, but generally not too hard (especially if you open up some of the sites in there on your pc and check what javascript is behind it

From this time ( 8am British Summer Time ) every Thursday, Home is down for maintainence, new items are sometimes added aswell. They never say when it will be back up either, it's usually back up after it's been down anywhere between two and five hours. It's just maintainence today, nothing new is being added so it shouldn't be too long, but you never know.

Probably not,
I have never noticed anything that mentions the maintainence is going to happen while actually in Home. I found out a few weeks back while reading the Official Playstation Forums, this is carried out every week. Also it seems an update is scheaduled for next week ( 1.20 ),👍 this I think is mentioned in Home aswell, but is subject to change.

What were/are the issues? I finished playing the "Hub" (Xi) game last night. I had some issues trying to activate some of the needed tasks and features, like the HoloPad. There was either a strong delay with its activation, or some of my button inputs just didn't get registered.
As far as I know, I've collected everything possible. I have 4 puzzle pieces and 3 butterflies. How will I know when new clues are available, short of logging on Home and going to the Hub?

I suspect the Xi forums will be the most useful resource for info.... but I suppose that will also take away the surprise factor, as well as giving away spoilers if you are not careful what you click on.

Just a quick note to let everybody know that the Shopping Mall has recieved two new stores today, ( so you will have to re-download it ) a costume shop ( it only has hats at the moment ) and Original V-Shirt store which only has one item in it at the moment, but it is free. I believe there's a few new items in the Threads store too ( There are some free ones too ). Sadly the update ( 1.20 ) has been delayed due to technical problems, so it could be a few weeks before it's out.

Tomorrow, April 9th, is shaping up to be a milestone date in the ever-evolving world known as PlayStation Home and we cant wait for you all to log in and check out all the cool stuff weve had brewing!
First up, EA is launching their first PlayStation Home game space to support the newly-released The Godfather II game. This space will have a Texas Hold Em table and will allow you a place to gather with your fellow PlayStation Home mobsters and tighten up your poker face before EA launches its highly-anticipated Sports Complex.
To celebrate the launch of The Godfather II space, well be throwing our first Celebrity Poker tournament in-world Thursday night and were inviting you along to play a hand (or lose a hand, if you cant settle your debts!). Decorate your avatar to resemble one of your favorite celebrities and then get ready to throw some cards. The party starts at 5:00pm PT (8:00pm EST) and ends when it ends.
On a similarly awesome note, Capcom is further demonstrating their support for all things PlayStation Home-related by refreshing the Resident Evil 5 game space. A new mini-game quest and a souvenir shop with new costumes will be available within the space, and much more. But the best part is that all of you Resident Evil 5 freaks will get a chance to further sharpen your zombie-slaying skills on Thursday, April 16th. Between the hours of 3:00pm and 7:00pm PT (6:00pm and 10:00pm EST), PlayStation Home Community Management team members CydoniaX, BuggieTechnica, and Locust_Star will be joining up with Capcom staff to launch into co-op games of RE5 with PlayStation Home users.
The sessions will last for one chapter or 20 minutes - whichever comes first. To participate, just be sure to show up at the Resident Evil 5 game space and have the game loaded into your PLAYSTATION 3. Well be looking for users with the game launching icon over their heads, and if we see you well jump into your game. Well be dressed in either the new Chris or Sheva costumes. The question is, will you?

It's very straight forward:
- Everyone is dealt two cards face down, and then there is a round of betting.
- After that, the dealer places three cards face up (the flop), followed by another round of betting. These cards are referred to as community cards, because everyone get's the opportunity to use them to make their best 5-card poker hand.
- The dealer then places the fourth community card face up (the turn/4th street), followed by another round of betting.
- The dealer then places the fifth and final community card face up (the river/5th street), and then there is the final round of betting.
As for the space it self... while it may at first appear that there is only one poker table, if you go upstairs, you'll find there are four more tables up there.
Each table basically runs like a sit'n'go tournament. Thus you can't join a game once it's in progress, and only ends when there is one winner who has all the chips.
The problem with this is that there is no way of knowing how far along a table is from finishing their game without sending a PM to one of the players. However, by simply seeing how many players are seated at a table, you can usually guess how far along they are. For instance, if there are 4 or more players, it's likely going to be a while before the game ends.
Any empty table is free to join. Just keep in mind, once two or more players select "play", then a timer begins. At this point additional players have just 60 seconds to join the game before it starts. Each table can have up to 8 players.
Everyone starts with $2,000 in chips and the blinds start very low at just $5/$10, and keep doubling every 15 minutes. The other timer to keep in mind is the one used each time it is your turn to bid. You have 30 seconds to decide what you want to do, and if you don't do anything you will then automatically fold after the timer runs out.
What's disappointing is that while you can make hand gestures using the D-pad button when it isn't your turn, what you can not do is to chat with your fellow players... which is really not fun, especially when you are playing with your friends. 👎
I also think the blinds a too low, as a game can last as much as an hour or more for a full table, especially when some of the players are playing very tight.
I was also disappointed to discover after winning a game, I was not given any kind of reward. Compared to other games in Home where it's fairly easy to win Home rewards, this was certainly disappointing.
The other issue I have is that there is currently no option for a player to show their cards if everyone else folded... which can sometimes be fun to do... especially after seriously bluffing a bud.
Personally, for just $10, the PSN game High Stakes Poker is a vastly better game by all accounts, and considering how cheap it is, is a real bargain and has great online gameplay... including both audio and video chat support as well as private tables and multiple rule and setting options. 👍
Just like we do to access the EU, HK, and JP versions of Home, simply create a new user with a NA PSN ID, and you don't have to wait.
Speaking of which, the Japanese Home Theater is currently showing a full length anime film in theater #3:
I'm not an expert on anime, and the film is naturally in Japanese with no subtitles, so I'm not familiar with the title, but it did look impressive. 👍
Also in the JP Home, they have two new spaces to explore. One is like an outdoor carnival of sorts, and if you walk up the ramp you'll get a great view of the oceanside town... just watch out for the roman candle/firework launchers.
Also in this space, you'll be able to talk with the various vendors who will award you with various clothes and items to use in Home. There is also a carnival style sharp shooter mini-game.
The other space appears to be related to the new PSN game, Spelunker, and starts with you walking down a dirt road in a rain storm, ending at the entrance of a cave, and inside there are several areas to explore and more people to talk with, and more Home rewards... just watch out for the bats and their never ending supply of fresh guano.
The JP & HK Siren Spaces have now added a new game called "Ward of Despair"... it's pretty freaky.
It's worth it though, as there are several cool costume items that can be found as you explore through the abandoned hospital ward and try and get out before being caught and killed.
The Hanami event in the Asian Homes has begun with special items in the Mall, cherry blossom tress and public gatherings in the central plaza.
The HK Home Theater has also been expanded, and they are giving away Home items from the recently released PSN game, Gomibako (Trash Box).

Thanks for the reminder on Texas Hold Em.👍 I'm not a gambling man myself so it's easy to forget these things. The JP and HK spaces look cool, but I guess I'm not interested enough to make a new user for them. But they do look cool, Japan has wonderful culture and surrounds that always make it look awesome.

Just had a quick go at Texas Hold 'Em, pretty cool - although I got wiped out in my first game (I went all-in on an Ace High straight but got beaten by a flush ) It's annoying not being able to just play when you want, though... also, not being able to type is not great, especially when idiots stand at the table and try to tell you to let them join you...

Don't feel too bad though... imagine getting knocked out of the main event at the WSOP, arguably the most prestigious poker tournament of the year having quad aces... one of the strongest and rarest poker hands, especially when two of the aces are in your hole cards!
(and yes, Ray Ramano had a lucky seat at the table when it happened)
I think someone calculated that the odds of a royal straight flush and quad aces in the same hand was about one in 5 billion.
I suspect, like getting an empty bowling lane, the fastest solution when the tables are all taken is to leave the space and then come right back such that you'll be put on a different server, and hopefully find an open table.
So true, and I'm hoping this was merely an oversight, and that they'll be updating it to allow you to still chat... as it's silly to play social poker without the ability to be social.
BTW: Maybe we can organize a GTP poker game, and then create a chat room for the game, so that at least we all can chat using that new feature. 👍
Better yet, if enough people have the game High Stakes Poker, maybe we can organize a game there?

Wow, imagine losing with 4 Aces... then you really know it's not your day I may have to invest in that poker game, as I really enjoyed the games I just had... won my second game and should have won the third but got impatient...
Actually, there's a definite upside to not being able to chat in the game itself, since it could/would slow things down alot, and also it is pretty handy not facing any verbal abuse from your opponents

I understand why it is done like this, but I serously think they need to see if they can't find a way around it. To me it seems like having the room include the game as a separate app that runs just like game launching when the game starts. That way the only wait is while a game is queueing up players.
Of course, then you can't watch, but who has really just stood their watching a game more than once when you weren't wanting to play it too?
I would be up for this. Like all social aspects of Home, I much prefer the free-standing games versions. It would be really awesome if everyone had a PS3 Eye.
I'll just warn you guys now, I suck at poker.
