If it's laggy for others it won't exist for me.:nervous:

I hate being right sometimes. I tried to get it tonight and surprise surprise, no matter how long I leave it the world map doesn't even load. Also tonight, The Hub and Home Maintenance wouldn't load no matter how many times I pressed X, and I pressed it a lot of times.........

Home gets worse, slower, and more errors with every supposed improvement.:odd:

Does someone know where i can get in the Home Maintance area? i know its somewhere in the Home Square, but i can't find it:(

Between the theatre and the bowling alley over in the corner near that door that doesn't go anywhere (yet).

I'm sure it's frustrating, but I use all four regions of Home (NA, EU, HK, and JP) and I'm not getting any lag (other than the normal temporary lag when entering a space), nor am I getting any errors. Not only that, but I have noticed that even the download times for updated spaces are faster, even though some of them have been close to 40GB files. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I didn't even have to download the EA Sports Complex space in EU. So apparently the data for the same space in NA is the exact same as the EU. Normally this is not the case, and the same spaces in different regions have their own download.

If it's getting worse for you it not only could be do to the fact that as you have said you have a very slow ISP to begin with, and with more and more people using Home, and as spaces become more and more detailed, it may be too much data for your connection to handle smoothly. Do you have any other choices as far as ISPs that service your area?

So, I watched D-N play some poker and then I went and did some racing. The racing is actually very easy to win if you understand the differences in boost. R1 is acceleration boost. Use it when you start and if you hit a wall. L1 is turbo boost. Use it for the front straight if you are already at full speed. My first race I came in second, but hit a wall, and didn't have my boosts figured out yet. After that I raced three more times and never lost.

I also got a shirt (2 actually, male and female) for that as well.

It also seems as if the SingStar trophy unlocks are not quite updated yet, so I have no clue what I got for siniging my first song.

But looking at this I think that the Trophy Room may be scrapped for trophy shirts or something. I think that a decorative item, like the Dig Dug Pooka, would be much cooler. Give me a trophy-like item so that I can still display it without a physical trophy room.

I also want poker tables and whatnot to be sold for personal spaces. And can I get some air hockey?

I hope not... as I liked the idea o fit, and the footage they showed looked really impressive.

But I also like the idea of winning trophies as decorative items to place in your personal space as you wish, like as you mentioned, the Dig Dug Pooka among other things.

Agreed. I've been wanting to have the pool and dart game in my space the moment I found out I could place all five of the classic arcade game cabinets in my space and play the games from there with friends. 👍

And can I get some air hockey?

How about table shuffleboard! The nice thing about that is you can play with 4 people as teams. 👍

I'll be the only person to say I want this, but it is one of my favorite winter olympic sports.

Curling.

EDIT: What, no one will support my curling idea? :sly:

Oh, and then there is this news:

Exclusive Wolverine Clip in PlayStation Home
Posted by Locust_Star // PlayStation Home Online Community Specialist

Locust_Star here just dropping you cats a quick line to hip you to some cool going-ons scheduled to occur in PlayStation Home over the next couple days. See, we pulled some strings and got our hands on an exclusive clip from the eagerly-anticipated new X-Men Origins: Wolverine film, and we’re putting it up in our Theater come this evening at 8:00pm Pacific Time. You heard me right – the only place to see this sneak peek is in PlayStation Home, so make sure you log-in and peep this footage a week before it hits the streets. Stuff is hot, for sure.

See you in the Theater this weekend!
So, I guess for anyone that still thinks this might be good this is exciting news.

I got into EA Sports today. Texas Hold Em is good fun (I only won one), but the go-karts weren't loading for me. I don't know what happened yesterday with the World Map.

It takes ages to finish once you're down to the final 2 in poker. Good you can chat while playing too.

The EA Racing game is a reflection of their current quality of games. Buggy and bad

Hopefully the golf game will be better when it opens

I had a look round Home again the other day, the Star Trek clothing is actually quite neat and very generous as they give the complete outfit (boots and all) and for both men and women. Then went for a walk around the EA complex as a Red Shirt :sly:

The complex is quite impressive, its certainly one of the most packed spaces ive seen (people). It can get slightly laggy as it reads stuff off the HDD and loads up all the people but its a good job by EA! I guess when looking out over the tennis, football and NFL pitches those areas will be opened up in the future.

When you first walk in as its loading up all the monitors and billboards are black, it felt like I was in there out of opening hours or something! Was a strange effect and got me thinking again about how home should have day night cycles. Home square as lighting fixtures on the walkways and walls (could be a hint about things to come!).

The poker area was rammed with people, created a good atmosphere. Home should have a dedicated casino with hundreds of tables and slots, it would look amazing but the lag would probably be killer. Some GTP'ers should meet up for a game there sometime.

GTP Poker Club 👍

Yikes! :sly: As for the problem of everyone (GTP'ers) getting on the same table just all stand by a seat and the minute the last game ends jump in.

It's not anywhere near as convenient as simply creating your own table for your friends, like with HSP, and it still lacks many of the advantages that HSP has, but I have tried to do what you mentioned with some friends in Home and it sort of works.

Basically, standing by each seat actually doesn't really matter, as the seats are randomly assigned... the trick is to have everyone keep pressing the X button until the "Play" option pops up when a game ends. The first 8 to press play will get in.

The bast thing about it though is that by everyone using PSN accounts from the same region, you can play with friend's from different regions, which is a disadvantage with HSP. :indiff:

Thats odd, on the EU space its always constantly rammed!

Yeah, I haven't seen anything close to what Solid Lifters described. Heck, I have played as late as 3am (CST) in the NA Home and I still have to wait for a table to open up. In fact, if anything, I see a lot of people getting impatient waiting for a table to open up... and that's with over 1,000 EA Sports Complex servers... but who knows, maybe SL just happened to get on a server that was being temporarily closed down, and thus very few people were still on it.

I saw something like that happen about a week ago. We were playing a really tough marathon game and noticed that after about an hour, no new players were entering the room, and soon it appeared we were the last ones in the room. Then about 10 minutes later it was like a floodgate opened up and people came pouring into the room. I suspect the server was simply diverting new players to a different server, and then became available again.

One thing is for certain though, I've been spending a lot of time at the EA Sports poker tables, Xi, Chess, among other areas in Home, and each server I find myself on is always full of players. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if there are a million users in Home at times... which likely explains the high level of interest by third party developers to create their own spaces in Home.

Two Home news bits from the PlayStation Blog.

Patapons Invade Retail and PlayStation Home!
Posted by Chris Hinojosa-Miranda // Associate Producer, SCEA
Digital greetings peoples of the Blog! It’s a beautiful Cinco de Pata-yo and as we speak, thousands of magical keys (read: PSN vouchers) are heading towards a destination near you…ready to unlock the internet’s mighty download powers, filling your PSP with Patapon bliss.

In addition to these vouchers hitting the store shelves, on Thursday, May 7th, you will all be able to download Patapon 2 from the PlayStation Network and the Patapon 2 mass consumption can begin. Nom, nom, nom, nom…

But that’s not the only thing happening on May 7th.

We also wanted to announce really exciting Home exclusives (two actually). First: yours truly will be featured in the Home Theater, answering a few of questions posted in the forums by the Home Community.

Second: We’ve decided that this Thursday is also Home avatar makeover day…so we are giving you an exclusive Patapon 2 t-shirt (for boys and girls!). It’s definitely time for you to upgrade your Home look with something more Eyeballish and warrior like.

Now, be honest…wouldn’t you want to dress up your Home avatar with these fine threads? If so, be sure to head to the Home Mall since they will be flying off those virtual shelves. You know you will look good…in fact, tell us which shirt you think is the best. Maybe we’ll make an actual real-life one. Just hop on over to the official PlayStation Home forums to start-a-votin’ and get-a-wearin’ or just let us know on the comments.

So what else is there to do on these two days between Cinco de Pata-yo and Thursday-download-o day-o? Well, you can hop on over to the Patapon 2website to download or make your own custom wallpaper:

Of you could just try your luck at winning a Limited Edition Lilac Purple PSP (to go with the stylish Patapon 2 logo), or some Patapon 2 toys, or a big screen tv.

There you have it folks! Happy Cinco de Pata-yo!

Enormous Update Coming to PlayStation Home
Posted by Locust_Star // PlayStation Home Online Community Specialist

Greetings, Home-people. Locust_Star here dropping in to give you the straight truth on what new goodies to expect in PlayStation Home this week. Simply put, this is one of the biggest content updates in the history of Home – and we think you’re going to dig what we have in store for you.

By popular demand, we have brought the Siren: Blood Curse space over from Japan (this space will appear in the European region at a later date). The basic overview is this: The Siren Home space is broken up into three basic zones. When you first enter the Siren space, you’re outside the Ward of Despair, in what looks like an old, rundown carnival space. The entrance to the Ward is just a few steps away. Upon entering it, you’ll find yourself in the mini-game’s lobby. Inside you’ll see video screens on the walls and places to sit and mingle with other players waiting their turn to enter the Ward of Despair mini game. When you’re ready to play, simply approach the receptionist and she’ll send you into the Ward (assuming that the background downloading is complete, which begins upon entry to the lobby scene and can take a few moments).

The Ward of Despair is the Saiga Hospital stage from this PSN downloadable game, recreated as a mini-game for Home, and playable with up to 5 players. Everyone is tasked with objectives that must be completed within the 5 minute time limit. If a Shibito, or zombie, catches you, it’s game over. Also, if you can’t complete the game before the time limit runs out, it’s game over for everyone. Successful completion of all objectives presents the player(s) with reward items in the form of some super creepy costumes.

Take time over the weekend to visit this space and earn these reward items, as we’ll be throwing a special event for those of you that manage to successfully complete the Ward of Despair mini-game. See, on Tuesday, May 12th, between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm PT (6:00pm and 9:00am EST), we’ll be throwing the Siren: HorrorBowl bowling tournament. Users that show up for this bowling tournament outfitted with the Siren reward items will qualify for a random giveaway of the first Siren: Blood Curse bundle (episodes 1-4), which we’ll be passing out via PSN vouchers throughout the event.

In coordination with this space launch and event, the PlayStation Store will be offering a special sale on the full game and the episode bundles. The full game is now only $29.99, and each of the 3 episode bundles is only $10.99. So now’s the time to head over to the store and pick up the game if you haven’t already, or to snatch up those last remaining episodes to complete your collection. There’s even a demo available on the PS Store, so you can try it out before you buy it.

By now, you’re probably well aware of the Patapon 2 event/t-shirt launch also going on in Home on Thursday, May 7th. But I’m here to tell you that we have even more in terms of exclusive vids playing in-world for you this weekend. The fine folk behind the hilarious upcoming PSN multiplayer game Fat Princess have given us an exclusive “behind-the-scenes” developer diary video, delving into the inspiration behind this comic medieval battle royale, to air for one week in the Theater. This video will only be up for a limited time—one week only—before it makes its way to the PS Store later this month. So make sure you log in to Home and head over to the Theater to check it out before anyone else.

Moving away from this week’s events and into the realm of apartments, we are pleased to announce two new premium areas coming your way this Thursday. These two apartments are a new “Log Cabin”-themed area and the Living Room Stage Set.

The Living Room Stage Set will go on sale in the PlayStation Home Mall and will be loaded with interactive lights, cameras, backdrops and movie-related equipment to simulate a real-life studio production environment. The versatile lighting and camera systems allow for a wide range of desired angles, movements, transitions, cuts and lens set-ups that allow you to take control of the technical and artistic aspects. Combined with 12 props that come with the space to decorate the set, you’ll have access to the tools necessary to create your own film when hooked up to a video capture system. Priced at $4.99, the Living Room Stage Set will be available at the Estates store in PlayStation Home Mall for your directorial debut.

On top of all this, we have a metric boatload of virtual items coming down the pike including Tekken costumes and figurines and 14 Killzone 2 shirts (plus a bunch of other gear in the Threads store). We also think you’ll pleased to find that the inFAMOUS pre-order and reward outfits will begin unlocking right on time.

There’s more stuff to do in Home than ever before, so come on in and give it all a spin. We’ll be looking for you.

Still no mention of the SingStar trophy items though.

ASH said there was now a log cabin to buy in real estate, anyone got pics?

Not yet, looks very nice though. :) Features a nice indoor space, lots of glass so you can look out over the large outside terrace, which looks out over the lake and the sun setting in the distance. Will make some pictures later on.

Did you get it? Could you invite me there?

I'd also love it if anybody has any info on the 3 groups asking you to join them via Holomail in Xi. (Veilcorp, AphaAFK and some Genesis thing or something). Is there any difference to joining any? Is there a "right" choice?

Edit: Thanks a bunch for inviting me to your Log Cabin NLxAROSA, being there beats pictures every time.:sly: Now I wish I had it, but I can't get it.:(

No problem, Paulie. :) For those who still want to see how the log cabin looks, here are some pics. Basically it consists of three area's. There's a large room with a fireplace where you enter the cabin. Then there's the large terrace outside and entrance to the second large room. :)

HAH HAH, I sent you a message just as you were taking photos.:P The second room (the one in your last picture) would make an awesome games room. Pool up on the tiles, Gran Turismo playseats down on the wooden floor.

Is that the first Home location to be set at dusk? I don't think i've seen any outdoor/hybrid spaces that are set at anytime except midday.

That's a lot nicer than what I imagine a "log cabin" to be.... looks like a very nice estate along the shores of Lake Tahoe:

lake-tahoe.jpg

The architecture style as well as the setting also reminds me of Bill Gates' abode in Washington:

Now if that was the 'inspiration', that is a somewhat funny nod to Sony's main rival in gaming. :)

The Siren space is set at night, and the Japanese Home has a carnival space set at dusk. The Spelunker space (outside the cave) is set in a gloomy rain environment. I post some pics back on post #1855.

Okay, so I got the Namco Museum Beta from a Hong Kong Account. Installed it under my EU account. Then played some games, unlocked some stuff. I got the Galaga and Dig Dug Arcade machines, I can place them in my places, but I can't play them; it tells me I need to install the Namco Museum or Namco Museum Beta. Which I have installed. Any solutions here???

Bugger this, I'm probably just going to join Veilcorp, maybe I can be a security guard, you know, the kind in games like MGS and Syphon Filter, that get guns and kill spies trying to infiltrate the grounds.:sly:

Edit: I chickened out, just can't join any group without knowing what will happen.

Edit 2: Further investigation reveals that you can change group at any time, Veilcorp here I come!:P

free black trekkie uniform is up for grabs for about another hour and 15 minutes. Just have to click on a poster link to get the redemption code in home square.

Also
Starting May 14th until May 21st, the Chamber Apartment will be up for grabs in PlayStation Home. The new environment features a nice nature feel with a big tree in the middle with a face on the trunk. Whether it talks or not would probably make a good story, but as for now, the tree face is sleeping contentedly while avatars pass by to take a closer look.

After May 21st, the Chamber Apartment will be available as premium content, meaning you'd have to cough up if you want to download it. So be sure to get one right away.
