I'm going out soon so I'll have a look for it but wont be impressed if I pay £7 for no new info!
just go somewhere big like Asda/Tesco and open up the sealed packaging as no one will notice - if its crap - don't bother buying.

Mind you we all know deep down inside that we are going to be let down again - Gran Tusrismo the biggest load of lets downs since somebody dropped a box of drawing pins in front of the Tour de France.

or something.

Here we go, I was a bit eager tearing the pages out and then the scanner in work chewed them up but they’re pretty clear ;)

Not a great deal of new stuff apart from new shots of the 370z, 458 and SLS.

Key points:
· Refers to Indianapolis, Fuji, Nurburgring Nordschleife, Tokyo 246, Madrid & Rome plus approx 15 other circuits (70, when you consider variations)
· Damage limited to paint scratches and scuffs for production models. Competition models get body deformation and destruction.
· 16 player online races confirmed (according to OPM). Online garages, bulletin boards, race and team building tools, one-to-one face offs still unconfirmed rumour for online.
· PSEye head tracking still only very likely
· Ability to play any of GT5’s course in the dark
· Dynamic weather appears to be confirmed rather than just set weather conditions that don’t change within the race.
· OPM expect a UK release date sometime around September

There’s also a short interview with KY, read into that what you will.

Thanks evilneal for getting the magazine and posting the scans...

Sadly though, that article could have been written by anyone who regularly reads GTPlanet so I woudn't read anything into it at all. I don't think they have any new information but still needed an article for the magazine - lazy journalism.

(thinking about it some more, I think the journalist probably did read GTPlanet!)

^ I tend to agree!

It's hard to believe anything in the magazines (e.g. dynamic weather confirmed) when they can just retract in next month (e.g. Indy cars!)

It sounds like PD and KY are still working on the online part of the game but who knows when the interview took place or what he was actually talking about

Look at pic 2 on page 3, wonder if that track really is Special Stage Route 5. I don't remember any trees to the right before the tunnel:S

Edit

Nope, I can't see any trees.

Why would they show SSR5 as a demonstration of a new night-racing feature when it was already a night track??

It would help, if we could read what the traffic sign says on top of the tunnel entrance.

Is it recognisable in the original...?

because no other tracks were available. What better way to show off a not finished feature like night racing, than with a track that has always been raced at night.

I disagree. This is the first magazine that clearly states that there will be dynamic weather and that lighting for night races is a mixture of headlights and flood lights from the track. The manner in which it is written suggests that they have seen it in game.

At least, that's what I'm hoping. Now, if they will just add day/night cycles for the 24 hour races...come on, we're almost there!!

I can't read any of the writing on the signs even with a magnifying glass! Is SSR5 meant to be in Japan as I can't see any Japanese symbols on the signs?

Why on earth cant just PD/SONY come on track abd explain the situation with GT5?? They cant be arsed??

I wish they would stop pissing on their fans like this.

Chill Winston. It's only a magazine article and it doesn't contain any terrible revelations. What were you expecting? :)

The screens of the SLS on the mystery night course (let's call it "Special" something-something) indicate that this "racing with a mixture of floodlights and headlights" feature has, in fact, been implemented.

All that's left to do is re-render (or better yet, just fiddle the real-time parameters - oh wait, can we do that dynamically...? :dopey: ) the tracks so that they are "at night" and hey presto, night racing. Done.

Sadly, I had it in my head that the headlights were projected, but they just look like point-sources, as though the car were using some excessively bright side- / running-lights. It doesn't rule out dynamic lighting transitions, though, as point lights are less expensive! :D

yet again meh... I think the only time we are going to see significant news is if Sony/PD tells us "in X days we will present lots o GT5 news" or E3.

gt5 will be a huge let down tbh basically because were all expecting soooo much from it damage: already confirmed that only a few cars will have full damage
dynamic weather: waste of time imho most people will have it turned off tbh
eye toy :another waste most ps3 owners don't have an eye toy so again pretty pointless
release date : lmfao

I doubt that most of us will be "let down". While the game might fail to live up to some expectations, PD have an impressive track record of surpassing most expectations and delivering a fantastic game - eventually. GT5 ought to be judged on its own merits, not against what anyone might wish it to be.

Hell-to-the-YES! 👍

I won't be disappointed, all I want is a GT5p with a lot more content, e.g. cars, tracks & the greatly improved online portion of the game.

I would be satisfied, everything else is just a bonus to me.

But hey, that's just me....

Add me to the list.

I don`t know if this pic has been posted already.

I've seen it before, I think it was from the US OPM and it's in the UK OPM that came out today.

It's good to see that there are still some rational people on here who remain positive and have realistic expectations. Every GT so far has been of such a high quality that they have stood the test of time and are still amazing games many years after they've been released. There's no real reason to think GT5 will be any different. It's been said before but I'll say it again, if you're so incensed about GT5 that it's making you unhappy it's time to take a step back and look at the bigger picture

;)
