So, who's got all 60 Golds in their licence tests yet?

I'd upload my replay of IC-1, ended up turning 110 degrees to the right by the time i've stopped and smashed the gold time. Gunna have to take a pic sometime.

If only we could upload the replays to youtube or something...

What are most people using? DFGT, G25, G27, Controller?
The best I can do on any of these damn tests are Silvers :ouch: Maybe I'm just that bad...hah

I'm using the controller with IA just finished today. For me it usually takes several tries to get gold. Sometimes I get lucky. But usually I get consistent and then try to find the extra bit of time. I also watch Stune5's youtube videos to see if I'm doing something completely wrong.

Chalk me up! :D

Logitech GT Force Wheel from my GT3 days ;)

Is it just me or is getting all golds in GT5 alot easier than GT4, i'm not saying i thought they were easy, but i never managed 100% golds in GT4 in all the years i played it, though i was easily able to do it in GT5.

Perhaps its that i now own a wheel, and was actually trying to get the golds.

The licenses have gotten me very used to my G27. Finished today with 50 Gold, and now I have to level up to get to the S license. With everyone saying how easy it is, I'm excited.

Damn im stuck on IC1 the 1000m brake challenge. Cant get it, im off by .003

any tips? i think i read somewhere to use the controller make it a little easier. Should i turn off abs all together, i think it on 1

the cars stop the fastest with abs @ 1
if that's the one with the Aston you're probably losing time on the start.
don't bounce the revs, if you launch at 4-5K and shift 1 tick mark before red-line you'll pull a whole car length on the brick-gas AT method which works perfect in every other brake test car.

I think they're just easier... but in a good way.
The GT2,3,&4 license tests had most of the gold times set so close to the limit of what was actually possible that you had to be *perfect* to pip the gold by more than a tenth. They still have some of them in this one... the iB test with the NSX-R on tokyo 246's turn 2-3 complex gave me flashbacks as I crossed the line countless times with a sliver time of +0.00x until you get the one time where it's perfect and slice the gold by ~1 tenth.
I think it's a lot better this way. The gold times are low enough to require effort but no so low that you have to pull your hair out for hours until the randomness of the universe gives it to you. That level of "S" trophy belongs in the brag-o-sphere of comparing times online.

btw... IC-10 can bite me. Everything was going swimmingly until I blew an hour on that bugger. Getting by 8 car's in 3 corners is quite a tall order for the worst Ferrari ever made (this side of a Mondial).... and 1976 can have their brake and suspension technology back. >:E

I disagree, in the other games, their was room for error. Now you need to use proper lines and all that junk. So if you're not a perfect GT5 driver, you won't get Gold in the late tests. It's kinda stupid. Also it doesn't show you how to take it properly to get the time.

I agree the demo guy doing silver is B.S. The "example" should always be below the gold time or it isn't much of an example. But the demo is always doing it correctly; and what's wrong with making you drive correctly?

The licenses are a much better learning tool than they've ever been and there is still plenty of room for style points.

Add me to the list please !!

I dont agree with the statement above about having to drive perfect - the S-Licence I had to do some very ugly driving to win Gold in a few !

All tests were done with the Dual Shock 3

Work in progress... Special are all gold. I loved those!

I also loved the Special licence ! My fav 1

Also the prize car for gold is probably the only one worthwhile having - the rest to me are rubbish.

Old GT games gave better rewards for Golding the licences IMO.

Getting there, slowly. Just finished IA and have 23 gold, 23 silver and 4 bronze. The bronzes were on B and IC, 2 each. My first goal is to get silver on everything to unlock the bonus cars and then I'll leave them probably for a few months until I'm better at the game then go back for the golds.

The Tokyo with the P4 was a killer! Had to do some improvising into the last hairpin to get the first 2 :P

The rest is just clean fast driving and you're there, awesome :D

As for the cars, so far I agree... the only decent car I got from this was... that one.

First B licenses are almost done as well, only 2 silver left with .016 and .024 to shave off :ouch:

I may do a "gold run" tonight, if it feels right.

All 60 gold as of Friday :D

My favourite licence tests remain IC-10 and IA-10 👍

All the best
Maz
