If the race started 1 hour earlier (8:30pm Eastern) would you participate?

I was dropping between 1 and 2 seconds per lap as my tires went off during the last couple of laps of a run, so in retrospect the 2-stop strategy was the way to go.

Maybe with lighter cars you could have managed on one stop, but these luxury yachts were a challenge to keep in line.

TESLA ROADSTER RACE NOTICE

My lounge will be setup and ready to go tonight. The sprint races however won't have automated start times, so racers will need to click "start race" manually to begin each of the 4 races.

My plans for this evening have changed and I'll now be watching the Butler-UConn game at a friend's house.

Good luck tonight.

I'm going to DVR the game, but somehow I just cannot get as excited knowing that the actual event has culminated when I'm watching playback. I may make it for the first race and depending how that goes, either hang around or just put my game on standby and remote host. :)

APR 4 Race: Tesla Roadster Sprints at Tsukuba
Monday April 4 - Lobby Open @ 8:00pm, Race @ 8:30pm Eastern (GMT-4)
Race specs firm; practice with confidence.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This week we'll be doing 4 x 15 lap sprint races with the Tesla Roadster. The Roadster is an all-electric vehicle which means a lot of things, but for this race in particular it means spec racing at it's purest. You can't add any power over stock (electric = no turbo, chips, engine upgrades, etc...) and because it's driven by a CVT transmission there isn't even an adjustable transmission upgrade. The only thing you can do to the car is drop weight. So in the specs below you'll see that I've left all of the vehicle HP/Weight/PP restrictions as "unlimited" meaning you can (and should) do anything you want to the car - i.e. lighten the load.

Please note that I won't be racing or spectating this race (nor listening in via mic). I'll be watching the NCAA D-1 Men's BBall Championship Game at a friend's house. I suspect I won't be alone either, but if you still want to race just join my lounge and enjoy. I'll make sure all the restrictions are set correctly but you'll have to start the races manually.

Also, you guys in the lounge are free to adjust the settings to make for better racing. I.E. if you want to increase races from 15 laps to 30, go for it. Don't wait for me to do it as I won't be checking in.

preliminary specs posted for this week's Secret Race.

I will be out of town on business so Mike will be hosting the race on the 11th. Please add him to your PSN.

Kinda bummed about missing 2 weeks in a row, and especially about missing this secret race. The format looks like it's going to be super fun.

Final specs will be posted by Wednesday night. Good luck to everyone.

good races last night for those who showed up. we should do that race again one day. i think it would be awesome to fill the grid at tsukuba with 16 tesla roadsters.

That was fun racing the Tesla. Interesting change from the Aston/Jag. I only got in the last 2 races, and enjoyed the racing.

just watched the replay from the final Tesla Roadster Sprints race. Man that looked like some tight fun racing.

Ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnn

Who's planning on showing up Monday night? [edit: I'm an idiot, playoffs don't start tomorrow, I'll be there in the race with you, lol]

To prepare myself I'm going to run my RUF BTR around Cape Ring with comfort hard tires. No matter the conditions for the race are...nothing will compare with running around that stupid 'ring'. :banghead:

It is now past 7 pm EDT. Do you know where mikethehockeyfan's Secret Car is?
