Nurburgring Nordschleife 12.94

7) To drive a course will you use the Family Cup with the Difficulty set on "1". This will put traffic in your way. All tracks will be driven in the Normal direction.
8) Times will be a combined lap time that shows when you return to the main screen for that track after the race with a combined time for all racers that finished.
9) That combined time is what a driver will post and it will be compared to the other drivers combined times for each track. Points will be awared at the following rate:

Code:
  Point Awards Season Championship
1st 6 10
2nd 5 6
3rd 4 5
4th 3 4
5th 2 3
6th 1 2
7th - 1

At the end of the week the points total will be multiplied by the rate for the circuit presently in and it
will add to a drivers budget so that purchases can be made for the next week. If ones budget can support a car change it can be made anytime they can afford it during these budget periods at the start of a week.

Code:
1st Circuit = x100
1st Circuit Championship = x150
2nd Circuit = x200
2nd Circuit Championship = x250
3rd Circuit = x300
3rd Circuit Championship = x400
Endurance Circuit Season Championship = x500

10) Trophies will be awarded for the top three positions of each phase or championship.

11) The first three weeks from outside sources each driver will recieve 1D6 x 100 CR to add to his budget. Add an additional 1D6 depending on the Circuit, 2nd Circuit gets 2D6 total per week total. 3rd Circuit gets 3D6 total per week total. Endurance Season Champoinship 4D6 total.

12) Random rolls will be made by BH-21 with real six sided dice or computer simulated ones for each entrant at the appropriate times.

13) If a driver isn't able to post all of their times for a given week he recieves a DNF each track they missed for that week.

14) All time submissions will be by Private Message to BH-21. Once PM'ed all times are final.

15) A family cup event should be driven in the spirit of a race keeping two wheels on the track at all times and minimizing collisions with the bot cars. Especially to preserve your car for the season.

16) Selling Cars and the parts on them will be at 25% of the original purchase price and once fitted the parts go with the car. Round up to the nearest whole number. This is the same rate at which GT4 does it but not with as many decimal places.

17) When a driver sells their car it may be purchased as is by the driver who's has the lowest season points for the price it was sold for. A driver may only purchase a car once a circuit in this manner.

The car may be passed or refused by the first eligible driver whereupon it passes up the the seasons points list until it reaches the person who sold the car originally. The person who originally sold the car may not purchase it and the car is sold to an outside dealer. If no one wants the car or it is sold by the person with the lowest season total the car is bought by an outside dealer.

The car recieves a one time only free oil change by its new owner who is responsible for its up keep from there on. The new owner will be told what parts come with the car and this car will retain the same sale value its original owner recieved when they sold it.

You know I'm up for it.

Might I suggest the host roll for us, to keep it on the up-and-up, maybe best roll outta 3.

btw- I'm starting to work on the banner now.

EDIT: maybe I should read all the rules...

Thanks Dogbreath, its good to have options, I now have 3 ways to roll this.

Thanks GrumpEone, I know you will come up with a good one. See rule 12, hehe.

Depending on how fast the the invitations are responded to we may get Week 1 rolling and start Week 2 this coming Sunday. If not Week One will start this coming Sunday. I'm a morning person so as with the Extreme Challenge it will be updated in the morning.

I don't think I can commit to this. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I'm trying to spend less time in front of the computer and video games and more time outside. Unfortunately that's not the way things have been going the past few weeks, and there just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do anyway!

Parnelli Bone I thank you for the interest but I must point to rule one in your case. Now if someone can vouch for you or you can prove yourself in other threads then I would be happy to extend the invitation, but who ever vouches for you will share any punishment.

Car-less I totally understand. I to have the same desire and need with the warmer weather as well as other commitments to uphold. You will have a week to do 4-5 tracks for a normal week either all at once or as you chose. It being only two laps, it didn't seem to be much of a burden. Championship weeks you have only one track to do.

Give me a few days to ponder it over, there's quite a few races to commit to. Even though their only two laps, the use of traffic means that you've gotta learn the track & how the AI behave each time.

You don't have to defeat the bots, they are merely there for interference and to put some variance in the times. Its your track time that counts not how you place in the Family Cup race.

How is this for a banner? although it is still not my best work, I'm having a not-so-creative day.

Image was here...

It works for me, anytime you want to change it just give me the address to the new one. Even on an off day for you, you put more effort into it then I would have on a good day.

Just about the only thing I like about it is the re-created Sunday cup logo, none of the images really do anything for me.

I'd love to join, but some weeks I won't be available. Due to homework projects, music stuff, work (with my dad). But yeah. This is a time trial events thing right

Nonetheless, I'M IN!!!

EDIT: What a lie I told there, I haven't missed a week yet.

Somewhat.

Rules

Parnelli Bone is one of the most respected members of this forum (even if we have our occasional differences of opinion :P). Check out his website if you doubt he knows whereof he speaks (the URL has been posted here many times), or just search for some of his posts.

I'd vouch for him, but since I'm not a member of your clique here I suppose it wouldn't matter. If this is a private event, why don't you take it to PM's?

^ Wow, thanks, Bob, I 'preciate it. 👍

I'm just not going to have the time for this, really. :( I wish this thread had been posted a year ago when I was still way into GT4. Nowadays, I know I'll wind up getting stressed and disappointed if I get involved with this. Good luck with it, though. I'll be watching this thread for sure.

Yeah I think I can commit to this; So roll the dice and let me know how much cash I have to splash on a new (well used actually) set of wheels.

Parnelli Bone I thank you for the interest but I must point to rule one in your case. Now if someone can vouch for you ...

I can vouch for this guy, I've seen enough of his posts to know he is a racing purist, and would abide by the rules. And probably would kick all our butts if he reconsiders and wants to enter.

Well if GrumpEone will vouch for him I have no problem. If hes that good then maybe he should use the equivalent of a knife in a gun fight and buy a 63 HP car, it requiring that kind of skill.

So far we have 6 confirmed entrants out of the 12 possible. I would like to at least give 2 more a chance to chime in before we start, either way this starts on Sunday. You aren't limited on duplicate cars meaning there can be more then one of the same kind, its just kind of boring.

P.S. A year ago I had never even seen GT4 let alone played it.

Economy tires may also be aquired with the car, but nothing else. All purchases must be posted. Post pictures if you like, we will all get to know our cars very well by week 11 if we don't trade them in on something else.

Skython11 thats 6,800 and a weapon for 6000 unless your dreaming of parts already. You and GrumpEone got the highest starting budgets so far. Pretty much the first two weeks are going to be with stock cars though you will get another random cash roll after the testing week, but 600 CR is the max with that.

I'll go with a MAZDA RX-7 GT Limited (FC, J) '85 - 185Hp

The Sports Medium (S2) tires a car comes with in GT4, its all explained in the intial brief for Week 1 when I make it. The first oportunity to mod your car is after the time trials of week one. That is if you have any budget left, but you might as well do it after the weekly outside income roll which will occur every sunday morning when I update.

You can get and use the N1,N2,N3 tires if you wish at any time.
