Yeah I used to have a Para Ordnance with a double stacked mag, absolutely loved the gun overall but the only thing I wasn't too fond of is the wide grip to fit the double stack mag, I have big hands but even so didn't like the grip feel as much as the traditional single stack 1911's.

I keep my ammo in the original cardboard boxes, then store those in the ammo cans. How about you guys? Any useful tips?

I discard the cardboard boxes and dump the ammo in one of my US M60 & .50Cal ammo cans, they're airtight and I do use silica packs to keep the ammo as dry as possible. A small note glued onto the can reminds me of the projectile weight. Those cans are worth their weight in gold!

God, holding a full 20lbs ammo can filled with high quality ammunition definitely improves my general well-being and gives me this face -> :dopey:

Those 1911s that have 12 rounds or more are double stacked. Not traditional 1911s.
Ah, thank you. 👍 12 would be cool, but for .45, I'd think 7 + 1's plenty. 👍
Look at Para Ordnance. They make both double and single stacked pistols.
Yet another manufacturer of 1911's.

With the smaller 9mm I have, I don't think I mind the width of a grip so much, but with a .45, I'd definitely prefer skinnier grip. I'd choose a 7 round 1911 with a smaller grip.

Probably been posted before, but, No comments... :ill:

I have seen that before, probably also on youtube. Guy's lucky.

I lol'd.

Well, I've also been using the surplus .50 cal ammo cans, and I'm going to continue to do the same. I had three of those cans, but with the bulky 12 gauge shells, I've ran out of the room. I've shared this link in this thread before, but here it is again:

Free Gun Classifieds

While I've used eBay for over a decade, I had never done Craigslist/Classified ads type exchanges before. One of my coworker's been telling me that he saw a guy selling ammo cans in the town where I work. They are $15 each at the Army Surplus store nearby me, I didn't want to pay it(did buy one). I was holding out for the gun show, where they had it for $8, but I knew I didn't wanna carry ammo cans around in the show. Well, this guy sold them for $10, I drove out to his place during a lunch break, bought 4 for me, 4 more for my coworkers.

Sorry for my legendarily crap photo. Don't tell anybody, but I cleaned them up on company time(it was slow). I needed just 2 or 3 more, but got 4 for good measure! I'll order silica packs tonight, keep mine dry as well. 👍

P.S. I label my cans with masking tape & sharpie with what type ammo I got in them.

I heard about this one at work.

Lot of guys do find it amazing. I consider it an extreme waste of time.

Whatever floats your boat!

P.S. I just finished putting all my ammo in the can. As in one can(total of four). I guess I'll have three spares for now.

They should put that .950 in BF3 and make it take like 10% of your life on every shot.

I have to become an American Citizen first. Not exactly an emergency!

Oh that's right, we've had this conversation before. My bad. :dunce:

Those ammo cans, Craigslist is a good idea. I didn't even think about looking on there since I think they have a general ban on listing firearms on there. I'll have to keep my eyes out and pick up one of those.

Oh, and I was laughing the whole time I was watching the .950 rifle video. Their reactions after shooting the gun are hilarious.

That .950 video is gold. They should've put them on a rolling office chair, that would've been insanity.

I shot about 60-70 rounds out of a .38 revolver today for the fun of it.

Well, I've been browsing .45 handgun, and this one popped up onto the market again:

p92150203.jpg

When I looked last, it seemed impossible to locate one, but it's actually in stock. Right now.

And I know I've been looking into 1911's, but with all the reviews I've been reading about I have issues with this, or that, or break it in, etc., etc., I'm not gonna lie, I am considering Glocks again.

If I'm gonna do this Glock 21 SF though, I gotta strike fast. It is a hard to find gun. It has tenth of an inch smaller grip, mil-spec picatinny rail, but still doesn't look as good as a 1911.

P.S. I still haven't counted out rifles, or Glock 26(compact 9mm).

The guy I bought from, he had Craigslist listing as well, I was told. My coworker has sold many firearm accessories on Craigslist, and he said he had to get creative with the listing titles, because they were getting flagged and removed.

He wasn't selling the actual guns, just clips, things like that, so I don't know if he was in violation of Craigslist policy or not.

You're crazy I think all the Glocks are sex! That thing looks great. 👍

I want to own at least one handgun but there's two problems:

1. Not of age yet
2. I live in California

I understand why the laws are in place but it's just tiresome for the non-homicidal type like myself. I should move to Nevada! :dopey:

You're in luck, the Glock 21 SF is on the California DOJ gun list. But, it's only there until June 14. Then, Glock will have to resubmit it for approval after that.

Hmm less than a month after I turn 21... we'll see.

I looked at one store & one pawn shop today. Best one I found was a used Glock 26 for $419, but it had some grip texture thing added to the grip. $419 + $10(background check) is not a bad deal though.

I also saw some nice used bolt-action rifles. We talk about how reliable bolt-actions are. I might look into used hunting rifles?

I like the looks of Gen 3+ Glocks, too. But 1911's have that classic, throwback, badass look to them.

P.S. Do you have to be over 21 to own a gun? Or is this California thing?

...... what is a DOJ list?

Edit: Looking at the used bolt-actions, selections on .308 & .30-06 were not great. 7mm, however, they had tons! According to wikipedia's "effective range" page, 7mm has longer range than the other two. Anybody familiar with the 7mm here?

Federal law. You must be 21 to purchase a handgun. Rifles and Shotguns are 18.

In California, the gun manufactures must submit their handguns for approval. They must send in 3 guns of each model and pay something like $2k for the cost of testing. If they don't, the handgun can't be imported, shipped, moved or purchased here. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is in charge of this and put approved guns in a list that can be found here. http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/. However, handguns in this state can remain in this state, no matter if the manufacture pays for the testing. Once it's in, it's in for good.

Which 7mm? There are two popular calibers. 7mm-08 and 7mm Rem Mag.

One of the guns I was after was on that classifieds site: Saiga .308

The thing is perfect, minus the scope. All the work has been done. Price is fair, but it's a tad high for my linking. For $700, I'd be really interested.

What a bull:censored:

I had no idea. It was Remington.

All of these recent posts have made me want to go to the gun range, especially since I have not been in months. I would still need to buy a pistol though.

Yeah, I need to go back, too. I think I need to make different trips for different purposes, though. I have a .380 that I need to break in properly.. I've shot it a few times, but the action is still really stiff. I just need to spend a day throwing every piece of lead I have through it.

Then there's my .45 revolver, which is just plain fun. I got some more ammo for it last week.

And then there's the reproduction Colt's Dragoon that I should have in a week or so. I'll see how many crowds I can draw with the big KABOOM that that thing will make.

Single action, black powder. :) Percussion caps and lead balls, the whole nine yards. Going to try to get some pictures and maybe some video next time I go to the range.

This might have been shot from nowhere...

... but has anybody in here tried getting their hands on a Kel-tec KSG-12?

I know this is coming from a wee little 14 year old firearms semi-enthusiast wannabe, but I just fell in love with that gun  If I was old enough to own one, I would definitely get one of those.

Wow, thats a nice looking Saiga, great stock and those 25 round 308 mags sure look intimidating!
Slap on an AK side Scope mount, get a 2-7x33 Leupold scope, forward pistol grip with integral bipod and you're ready for some fun times at the shooting range.....and for the occasional zombie alien cyborg apocalypse. :sly:

I wish guns were legal in Britain. (I know you can get licenced for rifles and shotguns but I mean like in the US)

Bbbababablack powder!? You are crazy!
Picked up a Colt Defender in 9mm for the wife today. :)

It looks like a baby 1911. Nice. 👍

I can't remember if I brought it up, or Vash brought it up, but the gun has been mentioned in this thread before. I've seen couple of youtube videos, and yes, I want one, too. I was anal about the reliability & dependability though. I went with a Remington 870. Here's the post with pics of my shotgun.

Doesn't that thing look ready to go? I'm not gonna lie, I want it. If you are going to buy a battle rifle, it better be ready for SHTF(I hope I spelled that right), or it's no good.

After seeing the riots over in your country on the news, I wish you guys could own guns to protect yourselves, families, homes & businesses.

nutnfancy has three or four videos featuring the Kel-tec KSG. Not sure how long ago the videos were posted though. I have not watched any thing on his channel in quite a while.

EDIT: Found link to first video in series.

You know, now that I think of it, maybe it was TA who mentioned the gun(sucks to be old, blah-blah-blah). That is the same video somebody posted in this very thread!

I think TA originally linked the video in the thread, but I am too lazy at the moment to go back and look.
