I hope to go on track tonight mates, its been very busy of late... :yuck:

Every time i think "yes, now i have time to do some TCR" the phone rings (work) ,the missus wants to see some tv programme,or some other bullocks that prevents me from racing... :ouch:

So,maybe tonight i will get lucky(and i don't mean .... well,you know...) :sly:

Spy.

I've got the same problem Spy.
Tonight I will be on at some point if it kills me!

Phil, what are we doing tonight anyway?

Here's what we'll be doing as from tomorrow.

ANYTHING GOES

This week we'll be revisiting Postbrough in ANYTHING BUT RACE CARS. After extensive rejuvenation at the track, it's a bit wider to take a bit more horse power and should also mean there's more room for racing.

See you guys on track!

CAR: ANYTHING BUT RACE CARS
PP: 520
TYRES: Sports Hard

Some of the regulations may change, but will do my best to keep it updated.

GO YOU BAD BOY PHIL

Thanks Dave, enjoyed my blast round your track this afternoon, even if my reactions are a little slow for your tracks corners, whoops :ouch:

I'm sure it was GT3 Rome endurance race in the Toyota GT-one Race car.

Was one of my favorite races to do, this one sure is a handful at default settings; the back end is well Skippy on RH.

But still a beautiful looking car from the front.

Great capture on the picture Jon, real moody stuff. 👍

Phillip.

Rounds Pots, I got down to 1'25.469 in free run after 15 minutes of racing. That time pretty muscles anything round the track by over a second... Anything else I tried was in the 27's or 28's. Geez this anything goes brings up a mountain of variables, lol... Cheers

Last night hotted up nicely. Had some decent grid sizes and a real mix of cars.

However, for this evening, we'll be trying no race cars. Not because they're any faster, but the cornering speeds, braking and aero make it tricky for close racing.

So tonight people can use any production car and any of the tuned manufacturers like amuse, opera, mugen, HPA, spoon.
Tuning is allowed, so feel free to come along with your mpv Jon! Obviously drop the kids off first.

👍

Simple solution is room name - 520PP NO RACE CARS
Or what Sam suggested is fine too and policing race cars is easy, we all know what they are.

When I have said policing is a problem in the past, it has been to do with asking people to use a car that is no more that is 520PP or lower. My knowledge of the cars in GT is pretty good, but if I knew the PP values of every car to police this, I think I would be a very sad man....ok a sadder man.

Simplz!

I’ve tried 3 times to reply now but I really can’t be bothered, what’s the point of advertising the event in the Calendar or on the other past and present thread, as one thing then changing it to another.

Just confusing to everyone that bothers to read them.

Ok I give up now, I will always back anyone 100% if they have the b—s, to have a go at finding enjoyment for other, whether it’s a success or not, the fact they’ve had a go is enough for my support.

I was just pointing out you have it advertised as one thing but now changing it to another.

I thought that was easy to see from my post, not what the room may be called.

Simplz! too.

I will hop on by somewhere during the evening,. I got a beauty of a car from a friend, itching to try it out.

Always a pleasure to race with some of the elite concerning sportsmanship and racecraft. (<--Free advertisement for TCR ... :))

just name the room, "TCR. 520pp street and tuners"

done :)
Thanks Stiggs TCR520pp Street&Tuners

Phil thank you for updating the calendar for us and we do appreciate it,

I think that Alexi is taking into consideration, and he is trying to keep it fun with close racing and let me remind everybody that nobody is getting paid for doing this. TCR is a place where you come to-to break away from the daily stress and I’m hoping that everybody can help me in thanking Alexi for being the mediator as I think he does it brilliantly.

The day that Alexi or any of us start to feel that TCR is a job is the day that TCR will lose its panache and I don’t want to go down that route. so if I can ask in a polite way, and say…….What Alexi says is what goes…… And this may be due to other discussions that you may not be aware of. But let’s keep it fun.

simplz :)

Edit: the pictures are my brother’s contribution, as you can see they are very creative. My brother can come up with funky stuff.

Well said Jon.

I've sent Alexi a PM, my post had nothing to do with room name, PP or any changes, just the fact that the event is advertised somewhat different.

As I can't make changes to the event wording without Alexi's say so, as you say what ever Alexi says goes full stop.

The reply I was looking for was.

I see your point phillip, could you change the wording in the advertisments to XYZ to take into account the changes Jon and myself have made.

Now if you read the post again you'll see the post was about the advertisments only nothing else.

Phillip.

You're right, I totally missed the point there Phil.
Anyway, first post has been updated with "ANYTHING BUT RACE CARS".

Room name can be

TCR - Street&Tuners 520PP

or

TCR - 520PP NO RACE CARS

👍

I wasn’t directing it to any one particular person it’s just everybody has other commitments and a gentle remind that it’s just for fun with panache. And for me to find a place to race against what I believe to be some of the best GT5 racers around is an honour.

Now back to the racing…..in my video did you see me from 7th to 1st in 17 seconds that GTR flies and it was standard. We'll have to use it in an event.

Does anybody like my videos?👍

Thank you Alexi, now you've told me what to put I've updated the advertisments to your event best I could.

Wouldn't do it without your say so, that would be bad form. 👍

Phillip.

What a load of crap, first of all the NSX prototype and the R390 are not race cars, they are prototype road cars. tiggs' if you want to always be in the front move to time trial otherwise keep your mouth shut, it's all about having fun what is your problem.

Sorry for being rubbish guys, I was having trouble handling all that power on sport hards.

I'll try and find another car with less power and more downforce, maybe I can stay on track a bit better then.

Phillip.

right-o... I said with the PP set they're effectively race cars with their light weight and high aero. I never said, "oh no we should ban them as I feel under threat"... I was having fun and said I was fine with it, with a big ol smiley face on the end. If I wanted to run away at the front I would have just jumped in the very NSX-R you sent me and do what I did other day.

If you read it as a complaint, I'm sorry. It was just said as a 2D observation

Dave, I feel your frustration. Like you, I like to push the limits of what is and what isn't allowed. Just like any team would do in real life (Diffusers and blown exhausts come to mind). But I guess this isn't real life with millions of dollars at stake, so to try and make the racing closer, we've got rid of all the cars that have much more aero as the cornering speeds are wildly different.

So tonight we're starting where we left off lat night, any street or tuned car, but no race cars with number plates. like the NSX LM and R390.

Next months any car event, will be only race cars and the odd concept and tuned car that can keep up.

👍

Ok I also want to jump on the bandwagon. Here’s my thoughts, first of all the track is one or the other and it comes with one very long straight where bhp is important and down force is the enemy but then you have the infield where you do need down force and good grip to get out the corners so in my opinion I don’t see anything wrong with allowing the NSX prototype or the R390 after all they are cars that were made for the road and if we had the Ferrari FXX we would probably use that as well. So if you want to battle through the infield you will need a good aero dynamic car and for the straight a slippery car I’m mean I could probably think of four cars that could offer a good battle MP4-12c '10, Zonda R, Cadillac Cien Concept '02, GT by Citroën Concept '08, Viper GTS-R Concept '00, R8 5.2 FSI quattro Chrome Line, Veyron 16.4 '09 and of course my 7th to 1st in seventeen seconds GT-R Proto '05 just kidding.
