Testing CPT_D's regs

Looks like it'll be the all stock+oil changed Aston Martin Vantage V12 vs the Ferrari California set at 525PP on Sports Hard.

Mr D will have to set this in concrete though, cheers

Yes its Wednesday again Link to race details Toyota Supra RZ ’97.

I’ve read that the track seems to be a little slippery, this could well be more noticeable if using a DS3, so for the enjoyment factor I’ve changed the tyres to Sport Soft, I hope this is better for your enjoyment of this iconic Toyota Supra ’97 everybody loves the race car, see if you love this one as much without all the bells and whistles.

After this we're staying @ Curving Lanes with the Aston Martin Vantage main weekly race event by GTP_ Cpt_D 👍

Thanks Sam, glad you like it:tup:

As far as tyre choice and alternative cars go, I don't mind what we use as long as everyone can enjoy it. After all, that's what TCR is all about isn't it?
Thanks guys!

Spot on, have my two cars ready Mr D.👍

Vantage Vs California

This week we're using 2 cars I own, so took a picture of them in my garden....and then I woke up.

TCR @ Curving lanes in the Spura RZ '97

Room open 1472-4711-0038-4893-6732

I would like to publicly apologize for the utter disaster last night at Curving lanes with the Toyota RZ / 3.0GT (as a backup car) it will never happen again.

When I testing on sport hard tyres I found them not to far apart, but last night on sport softs there was one clear winner.

I also failed to see that some like myself have almost a 1000 cars, but some have closer to 100 cars so may not have the cars for the race event, this too will never happen again.

Default stock vs tuning, I would say there is a 50/50 mix of members that like both and as its 50% of the game, it’s a shame to not use one or the other. Again here I failed to see the fact that some members with their very busy lives may not have the time to read the details posted in the thread, find the car and set it up as per the details for the race.

So from now on Wednesday is Stock premium or from the recommended garage, on the same track for that week, this way there is no setting up of cars, no learning of track, just turn up at the track jump in and drive round and round.

Very sorry I wasted all your time last night.

captain_tiggles

What are peoples views on a NASCAR event? They can't be that hard and there's a tone of schemes for essentially the same car...

I had already got one of these setup for a Wednesday, but on the back burner now.

Phillip.

No worries Phil, you tried but it didn't turn out the way you'd hope it would...so what,**** happends!!

I am sure next wednesday you'll come up with something brilliant again :)👍

Maybe it would be better to put some of the ideas out there and let the members of TCR decide.

1966 VW Beetle Snowboarding in Alaska, well what else are you going to use this beetle for, it can barely get up the hill on the Eiger in reverse.

Nascar comes to Postbrough not Pittsburg, I could even drive this with the DS3 now that is :scared: me a nascar & DS3

Could you manage to a Ford this and I’m sure everyone has one of these, but could have a Jagged end.

I'm not looking to make Wednesdays another race night, but more a fun relaxing midweek break night, whereby racing comes second to enjoyment, we can race all week on the main event if we wish, but for one night working as a group just try new things and have fun.

I could be wrong if so, we can always go back to racing round in circles and disappearing up our own exhaust pipes.

Any other ideas like turbonato's Le-mans night for next Wednesday please post them in the thread.

Phillip.

Phillip you have nothing to apologise for last night, for me when I join the room was absolutely awesome even though I only brought a standard Supra I still had a blast driving the car around Gary's track. I have two videos of the races I had last night. I tried my best to capture the action in the recording but watching the replay last night I seemed to capture the action better but I wasn't going to make another recording. So enjoy. Last night was a blast for me and thank you guys it's such a pleasure to be able to join a room that has such a high calibre of racing.

next one coming soon

Great video Jon much better than I can do.

The RZ on sport soft tyres was a dream car to drive on Gary's track, just out of all the cars I tested they were either to quick or just not on the same planet, the Supra 3.0GT was about as close as I could get as an alternative for anyone without the RZ.

Other things I've been looking at are, wait for it don't laugh :grumpy:

TCR goes all green, Nissan Leaf G (Electric)wouldn't like to mix rain with these :scared:
Ran this with the Mitsu I-Mive (Electric) both on comfort mediums

A more sporty number were these two.

Honda CR-Z '10 and the Toyota Prius G

But you'll have to conserve your energy for this if you want to finish the race in good time.

And a mix of the eco warrior vs the petrolheads

There is just so much we can do with GT5 this is just using one track plus one or two cars.

These with Dave's Le-mans plus options posted gives us 8 different types of events to go along with the main race event for the week.

Phillip.

I can only say I had great fun last night and I respect the time and effort you put into it Phil!

What, no way. I thought the RZ'97 was a pretty cool car.

Good idea Phil, keep to premium and recommended, but don't forget everyone's online garage will have the same selection of cars too!

I'm working late again, so might manage an hour or so once Phil finishes the early shift :)

A warm welcome TM to TCR, oh joy another D1S for me to eat dust from I can’t wait, just kidding. I’m sure you will enjoy the quality of racing here at TCR.

Good racing every week from Thursday through Sunday with testing days Mon / Tues. Wednesday is a midweek break day were we try something new, if you have any outrageous ideas that you think would be good fun and enjoyment, or that one thing nobody else has tried, post them on the tread and we’ll test them out.

Sorry for the absence don't delete from PSN yet! I should be back next week :D.

Welcome Twissy!

About time you warmed your tyres cico. 👍

Phillip.

Man I'm missing out.
Thanks for keeping it going Phil 👍
Great photos Sam, love the close up through the window.

I'm going to try and get online tonight for a proper session, but I have a feeling I'll be working late again :(

TCR-Vantage-Cali Room open: 1472-6118-3787-3250-1994

Somebody sliped the old man viagra made me get an in race time out front of 1'33.461

Twissy with a 1'32.2 but I dont know if that was with draft, yeah was draft but a fantastic time all the same

Cpt_D on Lap 3 with a fantastic 3rd sector coming in at 1'33.387 with no draft.

Twissy in the next race in a well turned out Cali lead from the start with a fastest lap of 1'32.582 outstanding

As promised a video from Wednesday's event.

Good video Jon, I could just about hear some of your comments things like body roll, these are things when picking a car I look for. As you know I’ve driven top class cars for a living for many years of my life, and I do know what I’m looking for in response and feedback, well as much as you can in the game, bit limited, but any response is better than no responce.

In stock it just did not do the car or the enjoyment factor for me, but with the upgrades, even without tuning the settings it was a whole new beast and feedback was that much better. I never pick a car just for the fact it will go round the track fast, I have to enjoy driving it and want to do more laps.

You were picking up on the things I hoped everyone that used it found too, like coming over the crest of turn 6 and getting the sensation of the car lift and start to drift out wide to the left, turn 8/9 small right flick into the braking for the 90 left, you feel the body tilt left then flick right as you brake hard into the dip for the 90 left.

Gary’s track made it that whole much more enjoyable to. 10/10 Gary, I did think at first, the first turn and the last tune were going to kill it, how wrong was I, brilliant so many different things going on as you drove round.

But as its hard for members to find these cars and maybe the time to set them as they would like, I’m planning on a much easier, fun, enjoyable combo for the following Wednesday, after Dave’s Le-mans if we are running that this Wednesday coming.

We’re going Type R racing lots of these about Premium and Standard, stock with room set on PP.

So there will be lots to choose from, lots of different models and colours, hopfully Cobani will be around for the Kodak moments too.

Phillip.

You are more than welcome to join TCR, there is a race event each week on Thursday through Sunday, new track each week.

Monday and Tuesday are for testing and learning the next new track.

And Wednesdays are a midweek break day, whereby we try new and different things as a day off for just fun and entertainment. :)

Sorry about the room number still being left open in the last post and for your trouble trying to find the room, once the room is finished with a member should post in the thread that the room is now closed.

But keep your eye on the thread for a new room being open today for racing, this afternoon or this evening, your welcome to join in. 👍

Some of the pictures from the racing last night.
