Hey guys, just wanted to say I won't be joining you for races anymore. I enjoyed the time spent here, but the truth is, this club is too advanced for me. Driving without driving aids is hard for me, then coupled with crappy tires, and fifteen guys on the track at the same time is just too much. Maybe one day I will be good enough to compete, but I'm nowhere close now. I'm terrible with names but there was a guy helping me in the tutoring class last Thursday night, whoever he was, he was a really nice guy, and very helpful, sorry I don't remember your name, but thanks for being nice:tup:
It was "AJK Vail" that was helping the most that night, I had worked with you for a while and as the other drivers were improving, I had to focus my efforts on the majority of the class. I didn't intend to leave you behind, nor did I intend for "AJK Vail" to be the one helping you most of the night, but I knew that he had you covered while I addressed the rest of the class.
I'm willing to offer you more detailed help, if you would like, to go over the basics of racing and driving. I've notice that most drivers who are accustomed to using the driving aids, find it difficult to drive without them at first. I have 3 words for your. "Practice," "Practice" & "Practice." Practicing is like Vitamin C - You cannot over do it.
It's tutoring Thursday! Try and not be discouraged by the talent in this group of drivers. Trust me, you will not find a better group to get involved with! Miss Devious and Mopar are by far the best instructors you will ever encounter. Please take advantage of this by showing up for Miss Divious's tutoring class tonight. Your lap times really picked up last Thursday in class, I promise you will get better by attending! You can put your racing on hold for now, but please show up for class! See you tonight
Thanks Alan. The Tutoring session are focused on the current car and track combos to help drivers reduce their lap times to make them more competitive in their respective divisions.
Tonight we'll do a test, drivers will get to run 5 with the car/track combo is use to run as they like, so they can record their best lap times, and after the session for that car/track combo, we'll compare their best time before tutoring and after, so that all students will be able to see just how much faster they are now.
Yeah Glenn hang around dude. I stopped using aids same time I started using sport tires, around December, and the first few weeks are hard. Miss Devious is the best instructor I have seen. Take advantage of any help she has to offer.
Thank You Joe, that was very nice of you to say. I'm actually blushing right now. No, seriously.
If this is available to me, I would be happy to do it, I'm just so terrible right now, its an embarrassment to race with you guys, but if I could still do tutoring, and put the Sunday race on hold, that would definitely work for me. But if that's not allowed I completely understand.
Yes Glenn, you will still be welcome in the tutoring session. I said I would tutor you, and I will!
It's too bad to hear that. The S.N.A.I.L's are for all skill levels. Yes, there is pretty good racers here but the majority of us are beginner to average to very experienced. Practice is the key to getting better. There is a lot of people in this league including myself that would be more than happy to practice with you. I was not very good when I started out with GT5 about 1 year ago and I was using all of the aids. When I started getting a little better, the first thing that I shut down was the driving line, then I switched from automatic to manual and so on as I learned. I pretty much learned on my own but when I joined this league and started meet the good people here, I got even better. Especially thanks to sharkie and mopar for their kindness in tutoring me.
Tonight is tutoring, hopefully you will have second thoughts and rethink and join the tutoring.
I'd like to also state that the American currency has a saying on it. It reads "E PLURIBUS UNUM" which means "OUT OF MANY,ONE". That's how I would describe the S.N.A.I.L's. Everyone is here to help each other so we can make this a fun and great experience away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.(man that was deep) LOL!
Thank you Tom. there is still a lot more to teach you and Alan, but you two are picking things up quickly!!
I must admit, I'm pleasantly surprised by these posts. Thank you!
Tutoring will be in the Division 1 lounge tonight, 10pm Eastern. See You There!
