Also, what's this about shuffle racing tonight? I thought it was Tutoring and Cat and Mouse.

I believe we're half way done completing the change over, the events post has not been updated and I'm not sure who the host is :)

We had two events that were too similar on separate nights. The couple of times we've done shuffle racing were a hit. So we're doing Shuffle races on Thursday's now.

Just a reminder that tonight at 8PM will be the 1 Lap Magic style races, held in my lounge

Baahh. I'd love to join in on this. The concept sounds like a blast, however, 8 is to early for me on Thursday.
As for the shuffle racing. It we decided a couple of weeks back that it was best to pull C&M on Thursday as maybe twice a week was to much, since both Monday and Thursday started to have participation drop off. To replace it we then decided on doing shuffle racing in public lobbies. This helps bolster the number of racers on track as well as helps as a sort of recruiting tool.

Yup, here is where that conversation started last week. I've gone ahead and update the weekly calendar.

Rally, can you host Shuffle Racing again tonight?

Rally, if we do it at 9 next week, would you be able to? Or what if we did it on Fridays? I'm still figuring out the time schedule so it's flexible. The thing about Fridays it there's an endurance race right after. I'm not sure if people would be willing to do both in a row, and I don't want to cut into that participation.

It's tutoring Thursday! Try and not be discouraged by the talent in this group of drivers. Trust me, you will not find a better group to get involved with! Miss Devious and Mopar are by far the best instructors you will ever encounter. Please take advantage of this by showing up for Miss Divious's tutoring class tonight. Your lap times really picked up last Thursday in class, I promise you will get better by attending! You can put your racing on hold for now, but please show up for class! See you tonight

If this is available to me, I would be happy to do it, I'm just so terrible right now, its an embarrassment to race with you guys, but if I could still do tutoring, and put the Sunday race on hold, that would definitely work for me. But if that's not allowed I completely understand.

Absolutely allowed, Sunday racing is not a requirement of the league. We have a number of associate S.N.A.I.L.'s who can't race on Sunday but join us for the occasional weekday event.

If you'd like I'll move you to that section with a note to keep pestering you about Sunday's :)

Honestly. The issue for me isn't your time. It's my time. I dont have enough of it! Generally, the only times I get on are times that I already run with snail. Sunday, Monday and Thursdays. This has been kinda an odd week, since I was also on a little Tuesday and yesterday. That's not a norm for me. And with the way things are headed. I may have to drop that participation time too. I'm always up for new things though. Maybe we can get some people together early on Monday to give it a whirl. If its well received maybe it can take the place of the first hour.

Hey it's me Smokey... lol i raced with you guys last night and i had a blast so sign me up i'd love to join your league.

Hey SmokeyLungz,

Good to have another Canucklehead on board! Glad you had fun last night 👍

I'll add you to the drivers list, you'll be starting in Division 3. If you can't make it on a Sunday, please be sure to give us at least 24 hours notice by posting in this forum, it makes things much simpler for us, thanks.

PSN friend requests will be sent to you from SNAIL_Division1, SNAIL_Division2 and SNAIL_Division3. Their lounges are where we race Sunday night and hold our various events. Here's a breakdown of the ways we use the different lounges.

During the week we run a number of different events feel free to jump in and partake!

The original post also has a lot of information regarding the league, commit it to memory ;)

Welcome aboard and enjoy :)

I'll post again since my first one didn't get the regular response from Cheeb. I will not be able to race this Sunday the 20th. I will be going around in ovals instead.

Hey bowler,

I didn't respond as I think you'd said you were out before, post 5532. Your absence was in the driver's list already ...

Hmmmm, me on top of things, or did I just ninja myself???

EDIT: Don't get yourself too dizzy ;)

Hey guys, just wanted to say I won't be joining you for races anymore. I enjoyed the time spent here, but the truth is, this club is too advanced for me. Driving without driving aids is hard for me, then coupled with crappy tires, and fifteen guys on the track at the same time is just too much. Maybe one day I will be good enough to compete, but I'm nowhere close now. I'm terrible with names but there was a guy helping me in the tutoring class last Thursday night, whoever he was, he was a really nice guy, and very helpful, sorry I don't remember your name, but thanks for being nice:tup:

It's too bad to hear that. The S.N.A.I.L's are for all skill levels. Yes, there is pretty good racers here but the majority of us are beginner to average to very experienced. Practice is the key to getting better. There is a lot of people in this league including myself that would be more than happy to practice with you. I was not very good when I started out with GT5 about 1 year ago and I was using all of the aids. When I started getting a little better, the first thing that I shut down was the driving line, then I switched from automatic to manual and so on as I learned. I pretty much learned on my own but when I joined this league and started meet the good people here, I got even better. Especially thanks to sharkie and mopar for their kindness in tutoring me.
Tonight is tutoring, hopefully you will have second thoughts and rethink and join the tutoring.
I'd like to also state that the American currency has a saying on it. It reads "E PLURIBUS UNUM" which means "OUT OF MANY,ONE". That's how I would describe the S.N.A.I.L's. Everyone is here to help each other so we can make this a fun and great experience away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.(man that was deep) LOL!

And it should be the official motto of the USA. It better represents the nation.

It is the motto of the USA. That's why it's on our currency. Unfortunately you have people out there that like to divide not bring together.

So for being political!

Actually, it's not. It was adopted as a motto, along with "Annuit coeptis" and "Novus ordo seclorum" by Congress in 1782. In 1956 Congress passed a law making the other thing the official motto.

I did look this up on Wikipedia but just to make sure I had the dates right.

I personally would not use Wikipedia as a source of factual information as they like to skew facts for their own agenda.
Sorry just my opinion.

I believe you fundamentally misunderstand how Wikipedia works, but again, opinion.

I thought the same thing. There is and there isnt stuff I believe on wiki. But I dont understand the "agenda" thing. Wikipedia is much like a forum. Anyone can post stuff, and anyone can add and edit whats been posted. So having an agenda isnt really all that possible since someone can come along and debunk the offending info. Anyway, I dont take away any info that doesn't have citations, and I dont use it as a main source of info either.

Tread with caution....wikipedia is out there....alive and it will hunt youof sfosdfndsf dsson of a it's got me somebody helllppspsppsp afknsdARhrharARRRR>.............10101 01010 10 0 [End transmission]

Haha. funny stuff!

Rally plants his foot on Diabolics head. "Let the assimilation happen. Just let it happen." Rally pushes Diabolic further into Wiki.

I'm setting up my lounge now, though I don't have many friends online playing GT5 right now. If no one shows up by 8:05 or so maybe I'll go to the Div 3 Lounge instead, so people don't have to friend me.

Edit: In fact, I'm just going to go straight to the Division 1 Lounge. Of all the people that were interested, all were either S.N.A.I.L. members, or not on my friends list. Either way, using my room is not necessary and more people will probably show up in the Div 1 Lounge. When it gets close to 10 people can either get set up for tutoring or leave for whatever else they want to do.

EDIT2: Okay, no one showed up. I guess tonight was a bad night. How about tomorrow night at 10 in the Division 3 Room? It would be alongside Diabolic Friday but at least people might be able to attend.
I'm still new to SNAIL so I'm not totally sure how many people attend each event, but it appears to get any attendance, it's going to have to conflict with something. :/

It was "AJK Vail" that was helping the most that night, I had worked with you for a while and as the other drivers were improving, I had to focus my efforts on the majority of the class. I didn't intend to leave you behind, nor did I intend for "AJK Vail" to be the one helping you most of the night, but I knew that he had you covered while I addressed the rest of the class.

I'm willing to offer you more detailed help, if you would like, to go over the basics of racing and driving. I've notice that most drivers who are accustomed to using the driving aids, find it difficult to drive without them at first. I have 3 words for your. "Practice," "Practice" & "Practice." Practicing is like Vitamin C - You cannot over do it. :)

Thanks Alan. The Tutoring session are focused on the current car and track combos to help drivers reduce their lap times to make them more competitive in their respective divisions.

Tonight we'll do a test, drivers will get to run 5 with the car/track combo is use to run as they like, so they can record their best lap times, and after the session for that car/track combo, we'll compare their best time before tutoring and after, so that all students will be able to see just how much faster they are now.

Yeah Glenn hang around dude. I stopped using aids same time I started using sport tires, around December, and the first few weeks are hard. Miss Devious is the best instructor I have seen. Take advantage of any help she has to offer.

Thank You Joe, that was very nice of you to say. I'm actually blushing right now. No, seriously.

Yes Glenn, you will still be welcome in the tutoring session. I said I would tutor you, and I will!

Thank you Tom. there is still a lot more to teach you and Alan, but you two are picking things up quickly!!

I must admit, I'm pleasantly surprised by these posts. Thank you!

Tutoring will be in the Division 1 lounge tonight, 10pm Eastern. See You There!

Business and VACATION time is upon the Exo clan! (WooHoo!) I won't be racing on the 20th or the 27th. I tried to talk the missus into letting me pack the PS3 but that went over like a fart in church:crazy:.... Good luck to you all and look forward to racing again when I get home!
