VEHICLE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Any NASCAR race car available in GT5 is allowed to participate. 2010 and 2011 models are both legal, GameStop Camry included.
  • Maximum power is restricted to 502 horsepower for ALL races using the Engine's Power Limiter function.
  • Only Racing MEDIUM tires are permitted. No other tire compounds, harder or softer, of any kind may be used at any time.
  • ABS can be set to either 0 or 1. It is preferred that drivers set ABS to 1, to prevent lockup during heavy braking in to pit road.
  • All other driving aids (Active Steering, ASM, TCS, SRF, Driving Line) will be DISABLED on the race setup menu.
  • Mechanical Damage is ON, but limited to LIGHT damage.
  • Fuel Consumption and Tire Wear is ON.
  • Grip Reduction is set to REAL.
  • Slipstream is set to WEAK.
  • Boost is OFF.
  • Visual Damage is OFF.
  • Voice Chat is set to ON, but should only be used to discuss the current race. Please keep all other chat to a minimum.

GENERAL RACE RULES/PROCEDURES/ETIQUETTE:

  • RACE CLEAN - It's OK (and expected) to let off of the gas (or even lightly brake) so you don't run over someone in a turn. This is especially true at oval tracks, where high-speed drafting can cause issues with drivers being spun out in corners.
  • Bumpdrafting is LEGAL. Please be careful when bumpdrafting, as bumping in corners is sometimes dangerous.
  • No speed limit is enforced upon entering pit road. Be warned that GT5 can sometimes assess a 10-second penalty for entering pit road too quickly, but it is entirely dependent on the track and where your pit box is located specifically. Please give other drivers space and courtesy to enter pit road safely.
  • While exiting pit road, every driver must remain in the single furthest inside lane. Drivers are not required to run the apron/service road until the back straightaway, but they are required to stay in the very inside lane when they do merge on to the racing surface. At Daytona, you must stay below the thick yellow line before merging up to the inside lane.
  • While cornering on road courses, the two outside tires must remain completely on the tarmac/concrete/pavement at all times. Rumble strips are NOT considered part of the tarmac/concrete/pavement. Anyone that is caught cutting corners can be assessed up to a 30-second penalty, per occurrence, at the discretion of the league host.
  • NO CAUTIONS - use this as an extra motivation to RACE CLEAN.

Regular Season Final Standings:
UIzfM.jpg

DRIVER'S CHAMPIONSHIP:

After 10 races, the top 7 drivers in the points standings will all be reset to 300 points, plus 3 bonus points for each victory notched in the first 10 points races.

One Chase wild card spot will be awarded to the driver outside the top 7 with the most wins, with a minimum of 5 regular season races started. The wild card driver will NOT receive 3 bonus points for any wins from the first 10 races. If no driver outside the top 7 points positions has a win, the wild card spot goes to the driver with the most points, with no minimum number of starts required.

At the end of the five Chase races, the driver with the highest point total will be crowned our GTP NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion for Season 4, and will have first pick in the car owner draft for season 5.
-Any ties in total points will be broken by most total wins. If total wins are the same, then most total runner-up finishes is used, then third-place finishes, etc, until a tie-breaker is determined.

One time per season, a Sprint Cup driver is allowed to have another driver take their place and earn points for them in a race. The substitute driver can not be a full-time Sprint Cup driver that is already registered to a different car. The driver substitution must be clearly announced before the start of the race for which the substitution is being used. The substitute driver must drive the same car that is registered to the original driver that is missing the race. The substitute driver will earn full points for his own effort. The driver missing the race will earn 2/3 of the substitute driver's total points (to include pole and lap bonuses), with any partial remainder rounded down to a whole number. Should the substitute driver win the race, the missing driver will not receive any bonus points for that race win towards the start of the Chase.

MANUFACTURER'S CHAMPIONSHIP:

VS.
vpWSr.jpg
VS.
3jlgi.jpg

The winning car earns their manufacturer 9 points.
The second-highest finishing manufacturer receives 6 points.
The third-highest finishing manufacturer receives 4 points.

The Manufacturer with the most total points at the end of the season wins the Manufacturer's Championship. Ties will be broken with most total wins, etc.

TEAM OWNER'S CHAMPIONSHIP:

Every car on track will be part of a team. There are five team owners, determined by the Sprint Cup owner's draft, which took place at the end of season three.

The top two finishing cars from each team will earn points for their respective team owners (Hendrick, Gibbs, Red Bull, Ford, Stewart-Ganassi). Points for poles and laps led are not counted; only the finishing position points count. The team with the most total points at the end of the season wins the Owner's Championship. Ties will be broken with most total wins, etc.

CAR/DRIVER/TEAM REGISTRATION:

It is the responsibility of the team owners to fill the seats on their team with full-time drivers, in order to compete for the season-long Team Owner's Championship. The current team rosters are as follows:

Can they make it a clean sweep, claiming the 4th trophy this season? We'll find out this Saturday.

Season 4 of the GTP NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is now up and running. This season opens up with the annual Budweiser Shootout, held at Daytona International Speedway. Powerhouse team Hendrick Motorsports comes in with all 3 trophies from this event, having the two-time defending winner, ACDCROCKS123, and the season 1 winner, RFLX_Niop. Can they make it a clean sweep, claiming the 4th trophy this season? We'll find out this Saturday.

Nope ;)

Looking forward to the season ahead  :gtpflag:

Boogity boogity boys lets go racing!!!

Back now as a team owner and looking for wins and pretty confident of one, starting with the Bud Shootout! :gtpflag:

And with Nationwide and Trucks starting, the golden age of GTP NASCAR has begun! :gtpflag:

Are we having a trans-Atlantic or Olympic sprint before the shootout?

It's pretty much up to the crowd. I'm good for having a separate mini-race, or just giving out gold and silver chips to the top 3 in the Bud Shootout.

I'm in for Ireland.. :D

We should have try outs as well, like only the top 2 from each country or something like that. (Only joking, would be too serious otherwise)

And maybe it should be a 20 lap sprint or something similar :)

I think a North America -v- Europe 1 Lap race of SSRX of Semi-Dirty NASCAR would be great fun, with a 'name to be confirmed' title up for grabs by the winners.

Let the battle begin! :sly:

Let's do it, that would be great fun.

Also, congrats to Tom, Knelly, Drop, Litchi, Mule, Joe, and Furi on your Sprint awards. Well done. 👍

And thank you to all those who voted for me, it truly is an honor to receive these awards.

Knelly, thanks for the hard work so we can have all these awards. Well done. 👍
