Correct. I specialise in such things

I won the last qualifying race there, so I'm kind of the defending champion of 1 lap SSRX races :)

If someone else wins I'll give them their "Gold medal" of a small chocolate coin attached to some string... (chocolate may or may not be eaten beforehand) :sly:

 I am a specialist at those last lap crazy runs....

A little question, as I am calling Daytona 500 raceday a TOCA off week, any chance of bringing start forward a little? As that allows us guys who can't do all 200 laps as it stands (Carb, me, Akmuq...) a better chance.

Akmuq supports this message.

I highly doubt it.

Drop likes to keep to his schedule.

We said no to Knelly for moving the Daytona 500 race altogether so I doubt we can do any schedule favors. But I'm all for...
STARTING GRAND SLAM RACES AT AN EARLIER TIME THAN OTHER RACES
I'd like if we could discuss that idea for this season. Perhaps that is something you should be looking at Drop.

The reason we typically run right at 5pm EDT is because it's the absolute best time for most everyone, when all people are considered. Some drivers want races to start earlier, and we know Knelly definitely would prefer later starts. If I move it in either direction, it turns out to be unfair to someone. You guys all knew the race start time is 5pm EDT when you signed up, so you need to prepare as best you can for most races to start at that time.

Fair enough, updated my team page by the way.

I also really liked the one you posted in the S3 thread, here:

The problem with that is Furi isn't really usually ahead of me.

Oh wait, it's ovals, he goes to the front and wrecks his tyres, my bad.:dopey:

What if you're lapping him in those pictures?

Yup, guys, I'm still awake and completely sleepless at the moment.

Apparently I could use this moment to update my placeholder post without being the last guy to do it. :dopey:

Oh and I support the idea of starting Grand Slam races early, but I've got the feeling that Drop won't do any changes, so I'm probably only going to show up, hopefully grab a lap led early on, and then quit before I wreck anyone :dunce:

These things only happened in practice between the ex SGR team mates. Get em out the way early.

Actually those were pics of Knelly trying to force Niop out the way from last season ;)

[Season Two Champions:
Driver's Champion - RFLX_Niop
Owner's Champion - Hendrick Motorsports, Owned by RFLX_Niop (RFLX_Niop, Droptop2001gt, ACDCROCKS123)
Manufacturer's Champion - Chevrolet (RFLX_Niop, Droptop2001gt, Mudd, ACDCROCKS123, JakobNascar88)

OMG, even Jakob has more in his Trophy Cabinet than me. It just can't remain this way :grumpy:

I set the threshold for earning team and manufacturer titles at 50% starts for that team/manufacturer in the title-winning season.

ACDC and Jakob both slipped in with 6 starts in 12 races for Chevy in season 2.

For season 3, Nater had 8 starts and Furi just barely got in with 7 starts for JGR/Toyota in 13 races. It's a good thing he started that last race at Daytona, or he would have lost out on two titles.

Knelly, I reworded the requirements for the "Rookie of the Year" and "Most Improved Driver" Sprint awards.

If those two awards ran as they were previously worded, only GTP_Akmuq and ACDC would have been eligible for Rookie of the Year. They were the only two guys out of our current 14 drivers not to make at least 5 starts last season. Since ACDC definitely isn't a rookie, I thought we should alter the categories to make Rookie of the Year open only to first-time full-time Sprint Cup drivers. That opens the category only to Carb, Akmuq, Litchi, and Matty for this season. That should make for much better competition for the award. The other ten drivers are all vying for most improved driver, which is only available to drivers that have previously competed full-time in a Sprint Cup season. I've already updated the nominations for those two awards accordingly.

It's quite possible that I can make the chase in Season 1, and get Rookie of the Season in Season 4.:dopey:

I hope you don't plan on starting 2 out of 10 regular season races this time and still making the Chase. ;)

As for the upcoming Rookie of the Year award, I think the four of you should put up one hell of a good fight for it. I think the early favorite is probably Litchi. He has shown good results on both ovals and road courses. And, he has shown that he is able to race late into the night, having stuck around to run the second 200-mile race on the finale weekend. But, with 15 points races scheduled, all four of the rookies will have plenty of opportunities to prove themselves worthy of being called the best at the end of the season.

The bolded section should not be a factor when deciding the best rookie.

It won't be a deciding factor, but four extra finishes gives a driver four more chances to score a win or a podium.

Knelly, if you are able to, you should put the Sprint awards on the GTP America blog.
