I have just decided that I am going to make a diorama. But not just any diorama, a large one that has several environments including canyon road, tunnel, off-road, and circuit segments all to perfect scale. I'm so excited, but a little unnerved at how much time and money it is going to take up. It'll totally be worth it in the end though. :D

Oh Id love to See that!

Id do one myself, but i just dont have the time!

You can always make a diorama of a photoshoot studio like me. Just buy pieces and paint it white, put down a white backdrop and done! Forget parking lots, checkerboard floors, barns and fences.. those look like toy sets. :P

Funny enough I'm working on a mini diorama myself.
No details yet, but I'll show it when it's done. It could take a week, month or more. Depends on what I want to do with it.

Okay, I bought a Larry's Garage Purple Passion Woody a few years back only to find out one of the wheels was misplaced! Do ya'll know a solution for this?

Edit: Reuploaded since I no longer need Photobucket.

I'd find it extremely hard to believe that the axñle went loose out of it's strap in a metal base, it must have been a factory-issued error. Pop it open and put the axle in place and that's it.

Well thats just it, im trying to find an easy way to do it and to slide it back in to the proper place, but the end of the axle is too big to fit through that tiny hole.

You won't be able to do that on a metal base, you cannot bend the axle strap like on a plastic base. Open it.

EDIT: Photobucket testing: Can anyone see this thing?

Okey it seems like ya'll mentioned a while back that there was a certain drill that be used to literaly unscrew a Hot Wheel. What was it?
EDIT: Nevermind it's in the original post.

I can't see it.

No way to fix that axle without cutting it in half.
So i guess there is no way i can pull the wheel off of it and put it back? I think should have mentioned this, but only one wheel is out of place, the rest are just fine.👍

Oh well i guess my best bet is to just hope they still sell them somewhere. Have you seen any places that still do?

You would have to drill the car, free the axle from the base, cut it in half, re-insert the axle end correctly, repair axle with 1/16" tubing, reassemble car.

So.... the wheel got jabbed by the axle... but not on the center axis?

It must be something crazy like that or the axle is just bent I feel.

Yea it is jabbed into the side and not the center like it's supposed to be:indiff:, the axle is not bent. It was like that when i bought it.

Sucks it was the left wheel because if it was the right, that would have been a valuable error to sell off since you can't see anything on the left when carded.

Wow! Now thats just crazy! That would be kind of a rip off if you ask me.

To be honest i think i got this one back in 2010 at Toys r Us, didn't know it was like this until after i bought it and man i really hated that!:( I was pretty disappointed. I kept the reciept in hopes of returning it, but i never got the chance. To be honest ever since then i have been looking on the bottoms of nearly every Hot Wheel i get to make sure this never happens again.;)

Well, I'm not saying it has to be the right wheel; it's just that HW cars are usually facing right so the right-side wheels are the ones we'd see.

Cool and clever light fix Cano. 👍

Love the white diorama AOS, though that oversized traffic cone ruins it somewhat. 👍

Nice, new page.

Photobucket caché test: please people go here and tell me if you still see the picture of the torn-appart Trans Am.

Thanks.

Seen the page but the photo said the photo was moved or deleted.

Nice, it doesn't take that much time to PB to clear it's caché now. Last time it took days.

Thanks both.

So it turns out I indeed fell back on picking white for my next colour series. Thought about it long and hard, and came to the conclusion that the "Gunmetal Series", as cool as it sounds, probably wouldn't have that pop to make it stand out like white would so I grabbed a can of Dupli-Color Pure White. This is of course under the assumption all the lamps would be smoked.... or even just darkened, and the wheels would be black..... or maybe chrome. It's not to say Gun Gray won't look nice. I love that colour for cars. It's just that it looks good on life-size cars, just not 1:64s... Estoques, One-77s, Golf GTI... I have them in gray and they look hella boring and even worse with the metalflake. Plus, it order to make it stand out I'd need to have colour graphics to bring out the car's overall appeal which I don't want to do if I have to rely on decals because I don't want to have to make any.

Anyway, I haven't decided on either wheel colour scheme, but I'm thinking of creating two sub-series where one will sport the factory chrome-finished wheels, and the other will sport matte black wheels. No gold, no other colours... and no white wheels either.

As for giving the series its own identity, I thought of using 2 diagonal black stripes that will overlap the left side of the bonnet over to the bottom half of the left door panel. I'm thinking I'll have simple masking done with very careful spray painting. Then I thought about using Laser Etching to create fine print that reads "AOS" to create a super crisp stamp. This would then be dipped in white acrylic ink (or paint if I can't get ink that colour), and stamp one of the stripes on the bonnet.... or maybe gold ink actually (hmm...). Then I would have personalized the cars to be outstanding enough to call my own series. *drops the mic*

Lastly, I also picked up a can of Brilliant Black to fix my Mustang. Now I have that, a white and the Dark Cherry Red to paint future cars. The next step would be to come up with a name for the White Series, because obviously the "White Series" sounds rather lame and thoughtless.

And like that, it's gone!

I'm gonna tear into a Hot Wheels 100% Cano, I'm gonna do it! Don't think I won't! It's only this though. :P

That's not a 100% casting, it's mainline car sold as a Prefered edition. Do tear into it. I would. It's awful.
