400PP World Compact Car Race

The BMW M Coupe '98 might have been affected by all this PP change nonsense...

I've limited mine down to 200BHP and 1465kg. 347pp, at Laguna I won by ~30s and Nurburgring 24h overtook 1st place at Pflanzgarten

As suggested elsewhere, the GSX-R/4 is definitely the way to go for these races. I won all 5 races very easily with it, albeit tuned to the 400 PP max. Trying again with a different car, I used a fairly stock Hommel Berlinetta tuned to 375 PP and still won the first 4 races fairly easily .... but had 3 attempts before winning at Eifel. You need lap times in the low 1.27s to catch the rabbit there.

SRF forced on again in this one.

Great, now PD is forcing us to us the training wheels. Turning into an arcade racer more and more nowadays. Boy I tell you, between this and the problems I having with the new update, I'm really thinking of retiring this game more and more.

I know some of you may not like my comments about SRF being forced on, and you don't have to, but I don't think we should be forced to use any aid. It should be up to each person on how they play the game, not PD telling us how. SRF hardly corresponds with "The Real Driving Simulator". There is nothing real about using SRF. Quite the opposite actually.

+1

Won the first three first time with a Mazda Roadster tuned by reducing weight to the max' and all the none pp upgrades then engine limited to 400pp. I had to have a second stab at Nurburg 24hr as the car was under-geared and on a fast corner bounced off the limiter in 6th, which spun me out. Re-geared I caught the lead car just before second Karousel.

The Kart circuit was much harder, possibly because I detest all of the iterations of this track! The name says it all, it is a KART circuit! Arghhhh!

In the end, after several tries with the Mazda, best 2nd by 4 seconds, and several other cars, again second by a handful of seconds, I won it in a Civic type R (EK) '98, stage two weight reduction, all of the none pp upgrades (A lot of camber on the wheels!) and all intake and exhaust upgrades, then engine limited down to 400pp which gave me around 174bhp. I passed the lead car in the sequence of S curves in the last lap and won by 4 seconds.

Compared to the Lambo challenge this was fairly easy except the damn Kart track, I do wish they'd stop putting that in for cars!

why has the srf been forced on on this one?
i kindda get it on high hp cars but on these?

I was basing my comments on the post I quoted. I have not had time to check it out myself as I have been busy trying to find a fix for PD's other screw up with their update as seen here.

If I am wrong in that SRF as been forced on in this event, then I appologise. Just going from what has been posted.

@Ills1999: True, but when its advertised as a driving simulater, I don't expect to have to play it as an arcade style game.

Done these easily with the TVR V8S '91

Full susp
Full trans
Engine bal s2
Weight red s2

then engine limit for sub 400pp

Autumn Mini - 390pp
Rome - 370pp
Laguna Seca - 370pp
N'Ring - 370pp
Eifel - 380pp

I'm finished playing for now but I thought the SRF was forced off. Have to check in the morning.

The lack of traction with "comfort softs", is nowhere near realistic, either. The cars in the game plow or spin much easier than in real life.

If they're going to do something, fix the traction problem, and srf wouldn't be an issue.

OK, who tried to turn right down the old Nordschleife start/finish straight at the end of the Nurbie seasonal? I did!!!:D

Got the Toyota 2000GT '67 down to 340pp - had 10 secs to spare on 2nd place for an easy 1.5 million Cr. There's room for more with that race!đź‘Ť
Thanks to Lewis_Hamilton - great choice of car:)

True, I can go with that. Maybe use different tires? I don't know, but they certainly shouldn't be forcing aids on in this, or in any event as far as thats concerned. Not when they are advertising it as a real driving simulater. That should be up to the player to decide what aids they want to use. Thats all I'm trying to say here. If Joe Imanoobi wants to use it, thats fine but don't make me have to use it if I don't want to.

Any possitive results on your other problem? Man that sucks what happened to ya. We are all hoping PD fix this for you and the others!

Used a 155 HP Mini Cooper '11 for the first 4. Ran the final race in a 1970 Mitsubishi Galant. Slinging a rear wheel drive around that course was a whole lot of fun!!!! My Level 0 prize car was a 99 Celica SS-II

For laughs I busted out the R35 TC Racing softs with SRF on and ran Nord. I couldn't get the car to leave the track no matter how hard I tried!!!!!

đź‘Ť Yep, Nords one of my favorite courses. I read your comment, laughed hysterically, and thanked the GT Gods I wasn't the only one who did that.

The reason why I went with the 2003 BMW Z4 is because I wasn't too confident racing with two other cars in my collection. Not that it makes a difference, but I was looking mostly at my Premium cars. I have a stock(?) Mini Cooper S and a Peugeot 207 GTI. I went with the BMW for two obvious reasons: rear-wheel drive and its horsepower. I was also too lazy to try to downtune any cars of mine that could be legal enough to run but too powerful.

If Seasonals teach you one thing, it is about learning to take advantage of the tuning potential of all of your cars. Why stick to one such car when you can try to win using other cars? That's why in one Seasonal, I think I was using my RacingModified (to use Tourist Trophy terms) 1969 Camaro SS when I was doing equally as well using my Ferrari 512BB. To make a sports analogy, having other capable cars is like having a solid pitching rotation in baseball. You may have that one car that can be your closer or your star pitcher, but it always helps to have solid secondary or even tertiary cars that are just as good, if not better. In other words... you have driving talent and a deep garage- use your collection and find some winners besides your usual go-to cars.

I may play GT5 to see about if any Skid Recovery Force (SRF) option is enabled in my driving since it's such a hot button issue here on GTP. I play with minimal aids- mostly driver line and extremely minimal TCS. I never noticed anything really out of the ordinary as far as driving is concerned. However, I will check just to make sure this SRF isn't on in my driving.

I agree, and I think I will go back to the Nurburgring 24H track with a different car, I won with the Z4 at 400PP and it was a piece of p*ss except Eiffel (as per usual), but would like to see what my other cars can do. As a lot of these are cars are ones that I enjoy driving I'd like to see what they can do around the ring on CS tyres (SRF besides) because I like the ring and I like these cars. So will certainly wring it of enjoyment over the next few weeks I think.

This is the easiest seasonal event I ever tried.it took me 4 tries to beat eifel and Rome 2 times but rest of the races I won was on my first try.the z4 is the only advantage to beat this event.

No, not yet. Thanks for your concern and support tho. Much appreciated.

I did the holiday seasonal so much, then the Vette TT - it's just second nature to turn onto the start/finish line!!!

Made the same mistake the 2nd time round as well!!!:D
Glad I'm not alone!đź‘Ť
Your R35 TC experiment cracked me up! Must give it a go!

@CargoRat and everyone else affected - You have my complete sympathy - I'm gutted for you:( I do know what it's like to have a game save corrupt. Let's hope PD fixes this.

I like the eifel one, brought a peugeot 206 gti changed oil installed upgraded ECU and fully customizable suspension and away I went. Good fun beat on second attempt after 1st was to learn track.

I am about half way through it using my MkI GTI, think its the 76... Had to tune it to 400 for the ring mini, but was able to get 45:8 lap times with it.

Tuned down to 380 I was able to still win rome, caught the cars mid last lap though. I managed to kiss the wall a few times. Not used to this track in reverse! Got 1.31-ish times on rome.
