When can we expect an official release date announcement.
I cant remember when the release date was announced for GT5. I just feel that since being told that it will be during the holiday season a while back, by now they should have set a specific date. Perhaps at one of the next big shows?

I would be quite happy with an October release as it would then give me a window in which GT6 could be played sufficiently without the allure of a PS4 sitting next to it taking all my attention with it's shiny launch games like DriveClub and Killzone Shadow Fall.

Well, Gamescom starts on 21 Aug so perhaps then we will get an announcement. If not, the next show is Tokyo Games Show in September but it could happen any time and does not have to be a show.

Nice link conjerski. I particularly liked this bit:

We have two of those tracks in GT6 - will we get Sepang too? I'm probably getting my hopes up there a bit, but it might be possible...maybe.

What like GT5 has the Super GT licence but doesn't have Sugo, Okayama, Sepang or Autopolis?

PD and fully utilising a licence.

Speculation Raceway?!?

Why do you bother? :)

Probably at or just after Tokyo Games Show.

Maybe my biggest fear about Gran Turismo 6 and this short sort of turnaround time is that GT6 may not seem like a real evolution from Gran Turismo 5. I played the GT Academy 2013 Demo earlier tonight and think there is still a lot that can possibly be made better for GT6 to be anything in the realm of mind-blowing. Gran Turismo 5 was really the first time as a GT fan I've really felt disappointed. Just a lot of the execution and such disappointed me harder than what GT2 did. So GT6 for me is going to be more like... "GT5 disappointed me. Reverse my disappointment with GT6." I am always someone who tries to look at things in a positive light. One case in point is when GT4 and GT5 were resepectively in the works when people found every reason to dislike certain news aspects regarding both games. I have mostly been out of the Gran Turismo loop for the most part. However, I do anxiously await what GT6 will provide.

About the Shannon's Supercar drive for Bathurst. The Kelly bothers did it in the past with Holden. I figure, since the Nismo V8 program is new and not up to speed with the Fords and Holdens at the moment, Kelly Racing/NISSAN chose to concentrate on developing the car. so, FPR have taken up the mantel and will be airing the Shannon's Supercar Showdown in September. maybe there will be an announcement for GT Academy Australia/NZ rather than a game release.

GT5 was announced ages before release - though Kazunori san has since said that he's not going to confirm a date until they are absolutely certain of no delays due to the backlash when GT5 did get pushed back a bit.

I think the Tokyo Games Show too, but Gamescom should have more details for this place to get giddy and grumpy about in the meantime.

Apparently one can 'play GT6' this afternoon at the SECC in Glasgow, as part of the Scottish Car Show

http://www.scottishcarshow.com/ ... although by 'GT6' I reckon they mean some form of demo...

edit: apparently it is the same demo as was featured at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Here's the FB page. Seems to have a picture of the GT6 box:ill:.

Don't worry, that's not the real boxart. It was created by someone who wasted their time making it. ;)

Cool, guess the people will get their chance to test the Goodwood track, looks loads of fun. :D

If not for the GT6 demo, I'd be rather jealous of you European folk with all the attention you're getting from PD, a number of racing events and a chance to try out the demo.

I also have to say TM that your avatar is freaking awesome! :D I need to save a copy.

Ok, as I think has been said before by others, the UK advert DEFINITELY says Christmas 2013.

I thought that I'd add the following as it might be missed by people outside the UK:

I live in the UK. I logged in to YT and went to this vid for example, and the GT6 Goodwood trailer/advert comes up before the video plays. At the end of the advert it clearly says Christmas 2013.

For avoidance of any doubt, Christmas 2013 definitely isn't in October or November it's definitely at the end of December 2013.

So there you have it, an OFFICIAL trailer which reports an OFFICIAL UK release at Christmas 2013.

That's not to say that it won't release 2 months earlier in Australia, but I'll leave you to decide whether you think this is likely.

Now, after the facts above, a bit of speculation re the above comments about Bathurst.

I am thinking personally (only my opinion) that the comments about Bathurst and October could still be valid but perhaps what we will see in October is a demo shown, a bit like the Goodwood one. It seems to me that PD are announcing each major new track at related events, Silverstone and Goodwood have been announced this way. So, perhaps they intend to show off the Bathurst track at the event at Bathurst in October?

A whole post about Australia and Bathurst and I haven't mentioned the cricket once ;)

Yeah I've mentioned the advert a few times, I also doubt Australia will get the game in October but your final theory seems highly plausible to me and would explain why it was removed from the Sony web pages when the game was first announced.

Don't forget though that Christmas is also a shopping season, which despite tending to start quite early now, most definitely includes at least half of November.

Hey guys. In case none of you have heard already but Michael Krumm and Lucas Ordonez are coming "Down Under" to test the Nissan Altima V8 Supercar next month

Interesting

Surely we can assume that Bathurst will be included now........

Not so fast sunshine. We don't have any confirmation nor leaks saying for sure that Bathrust is in the game, just the rumor that it was being scanned nothing more and this test is meaninless regarding the track.

Actually Bathurst was mentioned on the official PS blog/website before it was removed. I believe some Australian's have said the game is being promoted as including Bathurst as well.

But this wasn't all about the test of a new V8 Supercar, which happens to be a Nissan? And in which track is the test being conducted?
You just said removed, so now it's a bit of a taboo like the other car and no confirmation as part of the game.

The test is conduted in Queensland, I think...

I'm not saying this event has anything to do with Bathurst, just letting you know we know more than just the news about them scanning it.

Not really a taboo like those car scans in Italy because this was on the official Sony website.

I am start getting boring with GTA now, Kaz when you gonna release some news about how PD co operate with Yokohama rubber and KW?

That's actually one of the older ones from a month or two ago reuploaded. Still, no idea why they do it.

From what I heard. They only do it to try and trick the GT fans into thinking pCARS is GT6 or GT on PS4. Basically they think it's a joke to fool the GT fans into believing pCARS IS GT on PS4.

Childish huh? :\

Don't you mean tricking people to believe GT is pCars not the other way around as you put it...

Probably most of them are self promoting their own investment at the expenses of GT popularity.
Funding for the game is raised by the community and the developers themselves, without the financial aid of a traditional publisher. Through the purchase of Tool Packs players can contribute to development in roles including content creation, QA, and marketing media. Members gain special perks, depending on their purchased tool pack. While not an investment opportunity, members will receive 70% of game sales profits generated within the first 2 years after launch as compensation for their efforts, to be paid quarterly.
