The body looks quite decent, in fact... It's damn clean. Unless the flares are hiding rust and it's full of bondo.

Yup,doesn't look too bad to me. And $1700 isn't a lot. Even average RWD Corollas in the UK sell for about £4k, which is about $6k at the moment.

Hey, thats funny. My '86 GT-S is missing the rear window wiper aswell. Also, mine is the same color as your's was originally. I'd buy it if i were you.

Wow, that one is in amazing shape for Michigan. Especially Eastern Michigan!

I'd give it the nod if the miles aren't too high, looks like an excellent car.

Ha, you can see the old red through the grill

Not a bad price for a fairly clean looking car and if it is your brother selling it to you, I imagine you know the details on the car pretty well. I'm a little interested in buying it myself now ;)

Buy it buy it buy it buy it.

Unbelievably clean, and it'll be a bit of fun, just take care of it.

Weld diff, cut springs, drive hard. Check, check and check = instant win.
I have a KE70 myself. These cars are bulletproof :)

Actually, this car is so cheap you just have to do it. Surely different car prices from here to there, but I paid around the same for a beat, high-miler KE70. Peer pressure, do eet :)

I'm sure it's noted as rarer since it's the 2-door version, which were built from '84 to '89. Most are probably rusted out pretty bad (such was the problem of many Toyotas from the time) whereas this one is clean.

Obviously the '90-'93 is the rarer one of the 2-doors (since I didn't even know they made one), but I would still say that any 2-door 4-Runner is harder to find, especially one in good condition. Same as the 2-door Pathfinders of the time, they aren't seen very often compared to the 4-doors. It may be attributed to the fact that people wanted 4-door SUV's so the companies shifted their direction, and the fact that not many people now want 2-doors.

I wasn't aware of them either until a few months ago when I was on my 4runner kick. But now that this almost snowless winter is nearly over i'm back to wanting another car.

I still say if you want to drive that 86 down to Illinois, she could have a good home at my house. :3

Congrats dude. Think you're gonna have a lot of fun with it.
Driving my Corolla makes me realise how much I want to weld up the diff and have fun, and how much I love these cars :)

Thanks, It will be fun!! As far as welding the diff, not sure if I would want to do that even though sometime I will prolly rebuild it. The LSD locks pretty good though.

Nice. Keep us updated on what you do with the car. And get us some new pictures on it.

Will do, if I didn't take it down some gravel and dirty it up I would have taken some new pictures. Don't expect much though, like I said before the paint looks much better in pictures. Engine bay is still red as well as around the doors and hatch.

BTW if you haven't noticed yet, I updated my original post with some more information.

AE86s are equipped with limited slips from stock? Nice :) Forget the welding, lol :)

It was an option. Hard to find OEM ones now since people have raided every junkyard for the GT-S parts.

Also note the AE86 in the US was both the SR5 (crap) and the GT-S (what everyone thinks of). Everything but the shell is pretty much different.

Cooly-Ooly, have fun and be safe! It would be one heck of a car to buy and learn with, I admit my own jealousy.

Ah, good old Corolla GTS. I did notice that the left headlight actually doesn't work, but then again, it's from '85, so I guess you can't really argue with something like that. Even if it's something like a 180SX.

It was the right one, and it worked just very dim. Simple fix though, one of the wires running to the plug was rigged and needed to be soldered up.

just don't go Initial D on it, okay?

Not planning on it, although I think that's what the owner before my brother was trying to do, hense the paint job.

Damn. lucky Sunnofa....

I mean, enjoy your new car! (although, I am somewhat happy...Finally, someone else with an E80-Chassis car!)
