GT5 online: What assists will you use?

  • Traction Control (TCS)

Inspired by similar topic on F1 forum I decided to make it here because I think it will be intrested to find out some details regarding this matter.

What driving assits you think you will use during GT5 online sessions?

Please vote by your personal preferences, multiple answers are welcomed, as well as further poll-suggestions.

None, but maybe ABS 1 depending on the car and the other players.
 
Voted for ABS at 1, because it´s actually an assist that makes you go faster around the track.

That´s what i expect from the assists. I don´t like the other ones because it makes you slower. (and ASM is just terrible).
 
I play with g25 and have been using 0/0/0 in Gt4, ill plan on using the same for Gt5. but then again it might depend on the car. sometimes those situations in the heat of battle where wheel spin is unavoidable in first and second may just convince me to put some back in to keep it enjoyable rather than frustrating.... we'll see i guess.
 
3rd times the charm... LoL :P If I use anything it'll be ABS at the minimal level... 👍
 
If the physics and feedback are up to scratch, nothing but most likely ABS - which is what I voted for.
 
i dont know whats the use of some people going for no assists at all..

I havent played gt series since gt3.. i see many people go tcs 0 but whats the different of setting these settings to 0 if someone could explain these to me i 'd apreciate it!
 
Second time.

I think I'll use the ABS. Actually it's one of the very few assists that is always useful and doesn't slow down the car in any way. Not only it avoids wheel locking and minimizes braking distances, but it's also like having a brake pedal applying force differently for each wheel (if it's correctly implemented as in real life applications) depending on the grip they individually have. No way a human can have that amount of control. Four brake pedals would be needed.

In the beginning, I would guess both ABS and the racing line/braking line. Until you're familiar with the track, it's probably a bit safer, especially in a large group. But once I'm up to speed with the car and track, nothing. It takes away the fun and the sense of challenge.
 
i use the Traction Control (TCS) in GT 5 Prologue, because i dont have a DFGT yet :D!!

it´s hard to accelerate with controller! when i get my DFGT it will be disabled! :)
 
I voted "none", although i'll probably set ABS to 1 until i find a good load cell for the brake pedal.

I just hope that the lobby admin will have the possibility to set rules, and eventually penalties !

it preserves the car of breaking out! special when yout got a powerfull FR car.. like an BMW M5.. front engine rear wheels drive!

Well, the first one was single-option, non-public (people could see the votes, but not the voters), the second was multi-choice, public (people could see the votes and voters) but missed no assists and this one is single-option, non-public with no assists added.

I can probably create the poll you want and put it in this thread without you have to start a new thread again.
 
ABS, I can never control the breaking with no feedback, so just slamming them on with ABS on will do just fine.
 
I use a G27 and found the ABS in GT5P (or lack of it when turned off) a bit under developed. The wheels would lock up (or appear to) even with just a small amount of pedal pressure so I just left it set on 1 for Prologue.

Might reserve my vote on this poll until we find out more about how PD's improved the tuning section of the game.
 
Can't be answered until I have the game :drool: :).
Probably always ABS, never ASM and active steering. The other assists will depend on car, physics, event and so on.
 
It really depends on who I'm racing with. I'll use ABS brakes in a competitive event, but if I'm just screwing around with friends I'll turn the ABS off.
 
Low level ABS and a bit of TCS towards the end of a race for tyre preservation depending on car and length of race.
