Like a lot of people, I am somewhat disappointed with the car list, track list, damage, etc. However, I am still extremely excited about GT5 and I want to discuss the positive aspects of the game and the features that will ultimately make this game very enjoyable and addicting.

1. Online. PD has given GT5 a vast and diverse online environment from what I understand. That means unlimited playability just like a Call of Duty title for example.

2. Diverse cars and tracks. Sure there could be more modern cars and historically significant cars, but we still have a ton to choose from. There are some blatant omissions from the track list as well as the car list, but there is plenty to enjoy and there is a good mix of real world tracks, original tracks, city tracks, etc and there are cars ranging from VW buses to Formula 1 cars and everything in between.

3. Graphics. 1080p at 60 frames per second. Impressive and pure car porn when you factor in the photo mode.

4. Improved sounds. Every video of the full retail version of GT5 reiterates what Kaz said about improving car sounds for the final game. This is a huge part of the overall immersion and enjoyment of the game.

5. Weather and time transitions. Even if it on selected tracks only, it will be badass and fun as hell to drive at night and/or during different weather conditions.

6. Track maker. This is huge even if it is limited in scope. The pre-determined locations look varied and beautiful. We can also choose the time of day and possibly weather (I don't remember if that is confirmed) on these tracks. Unlimited variation and creativity.

7. 3d, head tracking, etc. Most of us probably won't use these features, but it is cool that they are being impememted.

8. Customization. We can paint our cars, paint the wheels, put racing modifications on, etc. This is huge. Sure we don't have a livery editor, but who really needs that anyways? I can put my signature black wheels (of any style I choose) on my cars and paint them hot purple if I so choose. Good times!

9. Improved physics. All new and improved engine (even for the million, ok, 800 or so standard cars). Even if there is no cockpit view for the standards, they will feel brand new.

That's all I got right now as I am 3 drinks deep, but maybe you guys can add to this list and elaborate on it. Either way, I have been negative about certain aspects of GT5, but ultimately, I am very excited and I know that GT5 will be $60 very well spent.

I am aware of a disadvantage or two that might have been shared about GT5, but on a positive note, I am not going to cancel my pre-order of this game. To me, it's better than Prologue and even better than nothing at all. Should GT6 come out, I'll compare both and see if GT5 is worth trading in a few years from now.

But inferior to the previous GT game... where is the progress there?

It would be fun If I could drive around on SSR5, Trial Mountain, Monaco, Deep Forest, Grand valley, Autumn Ring or Tokyo in the wet. But no. Nurburgring and Suzuka will be great and La Sarthe and Monza are ok, but I really don't care If I can drive around Eiger, SSR7 or HSR in the rain. Those tracks aren't very good, so I won't drive them unless I have to. There is no appeal in that.

And night/day is only on two tarmac tracks.

It's just a gimick really. We have no creativity ourselves. Just adjust sliders and see what pops up.

Hopefully the physics are what is expected. From what I have seen they are fantastic.

I played the demo at GS for 2 hours straight, the employees were laughing at me. All I kept saying was damn the physics are so good. I did not care about anything but driving the cars so much fun. 👍

not to be a damper but ypur coment about

This game is going to be amazing. I have no complaints to make yet since i still haven't played the full game. However, it angers me that there's a bunch of users in the forum that talk about this game like they could have done a better job then KAZ and PD themselves, users that probably haven't even played any demos yet. SMH

Other than collision physics still being rather poor, they were pretty spot on from when I played the demo.

I didn't play it for that long, but I did get an awful lot of fun just fiddling around with the different cars and seeing how they reacted.

Standards look better than we thought they would.
Or, you know, exactly the same.

Track list, yeah... somewhat inferior. But these are growing pains, kinda like how GT3 had less than a fifth of the car total GT2 had. These tracks, while less in quantity than GT4, are far superior in quality. With some of them having day/night cycle and dynamic weather, it's worth it. Hell, Nurburgring 24h alone makes it worth it. GT5 isn't as perfect as 6 years of hyping ourselves up would lead us to hope for, but it'll still be a damn good game which in many ways is better than the previous installment.

And it makes me super excited for GT6 which'll likely remedy most of the growing pains that are apparent in GT5.

This game is going to own my life (well, video game playing life) for a good while. Plus I'm not the racing buff that some of the people here are so its harder to be disappointed by certain omissions.... ignorance is bliss in this case. :)

Same Here. I've been playing GT since part 1 and i've always played for fun and nothing more. Many people here act like if you don't take the game super serious than you shouldn't be a fan. :sly:

Millions of people will enjoy the hell out of this game for years to come. Doesn't get more positive than that!👍

This game is gonna be so fantastic and I will spend too much time with it. :)
Fantastic physics together with all the other amazing content w. cars/tracks/weather/mechanical damage etc.

Only a couple of more days!

Epic!

I am really sick of the negative Nancies on this site and every other site...

Out of 1000 cars, it sucks because ONE car that you MAY want to drive isn't there? Look

whatbrown made this thread to talk about positives, and I'm with him all the way... This will be the best GT so far, just because of the online component alone! Imagine the races we can put together, the competitions! WE COULD HAVE ENDURANCE RACES ONLINE AND EVEN HOLD PRIZES OF OUR OWN ON THIS WEBSITE.

EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, if you really are sick/tired/hate Kaz and his team for the DECADE of work they have given for your entertainment, vote with your wallet. I don't need whiners on my track.

Sir, you deserve a standing ovation for your words of wisdom. 👍👍

Despite the single half negative post I made in the iconic cars thread...I've always been pretty positive about this game...and this thread reiterates that. After seeing the car and track list, I started thinking about everything else (pretty much everything listed by the OP), and the 24th CANNOT get here any faster!!!

I thought you cancelled all your preorders and you're not coming back to these forums tomorrow? Were you serious?

Yeah, mostly. CE is canceled as well as the standards from best buy and gamestop. And yeah, I'm trying to keep out of the GT5 section, not much reason to be here other than help out those who aren't being helped.
