Practice Mode and Damage!?!?!?!

So I won this really expensive chevy impala '62 and took it for a test drive in practice mode and crashed it up hella good not thinking a thing about it...now apparently in GT Auto it costs something like $372,000 to repair the chassis rigidity!!! How the hell was I supposed to know practice mode carried the damage over!!!!!!!!!!! This is almost game breaking...I either fork out the cash or drive around a broken car I worked waaaaay too hard for.

ahahahaahaha....ahahahahaha

Really sorry, but you have to admit thats quite funny.

But in fairness its not a question, although it could be classed as an answer :)

I'll be keeping my cars fairly straight now :0

No offence but I think this is absolutely fantastic

Its a nice little touch that adds to the realism :sly:.

Bad luck though many will learn from your misfortune AND I doubt your going to be reckless with a car again :indiff:.

You guys know if future races will net me enough cash to easily pay it off? I better not have to spend like 10 in game hours just to make enough credits to fix this damn thing! Are there races worth like 1,000,000 credits or anything down the line?

Also, I think it's pretty stupid for polyphony to make the cars look spotless after a race if you had a serious crash and then surprise you with these insane bills in GT Auto....My car looks perfectly fine in the garage yet it has an almost $400,000 chassis bill!

Is there an option to turn auto-save off? I'd say turn auto-save off so if it happens again, you can just reload the game to before you crashed the thing.

Imagine damaging an F1 F2007/F10. Repair bills will cost over 1million credits. Well thats insane really.

Nice...I'm actually happy to hear that damage means automatic credit deduction at the end of race. I hope it's for online as well. Ho ho ho, I can't wait to see those punters' faces when they win 20,000 credits for 1st place but end up spending 50,000 to fix the car. This will surely kill most of the online punting on lower levels. 👍👍

Are you sure it's GT5 you're playing? The only Impalas are the NASCAR 2010 ones.

Wasn't there something about being able to win prize cars over and over again and selling them to rack up your credits..?

you're right, i meant the buick.

I'm still $400,000 in the hole! anyone know and fast money makers?!?!?!

this game isnt about making money fast, so I think you will have to deal with it and climb the rank, or do the same race over and over until you can afford to repair that car 💡

btw it must not be your only car so, you can always drive another one from now on

Practice?! We're talkin bout PRACTICE?

Seriously, OUCH.

I think they stole that idea from me. I wrote that thread years ago. Never thought they'd read it and take me seriously, lol.

Note to self, do not TEST damage.

Anyone know if there is a way to jump back to another point in the savegame? lol i know, dumb question but worth a shot in my case.

Also, if I damage a car and then restart the race, does that damage go away? or will it surprise me again in GT Auto?

Question:

Can I go back to download the GT data after I choose not to? I want to play the game and I don't want to wait after the first update and then full game install to drive a car.

+1 and Amén! Absolutelly fantastic! No more wall/opponent grinding noobs!

Are you 100% sure this isnt just because the car came needing these repairs. I started with a premium car because I didnt want to spend loads doing an engine overhaul and chassis repair thingy. As far as I know that chassis reinforcment thing is for cars that have a load of mileage etc and damage is in the game just to effect races, and doesnt accumulate.

Yeah, what he said. I think you made us all over react with you.

Would have been epic ownage if true.

Now I can go back to my damage testing as soon as I get it tonight. :)

Nah man, it's cuz I crashed it...

The car only had 6.8 km on it when I went to see how much the repairs were.

Oh My God! thats unbelievable. I take you're word for it but im still going to have to check that out with my own eyes. Hope its not, I'd hate for a computer to put me into a wall in some race and im stuck with a half a mil bill!

Ahhh crapp!!! I definately was doing some huge crashes in my Mx-5 earlier to see how the damage works.. Better check the bill.
