Ahh...the 2nd-generation (NB) Miata, my favorite of them all. Nice touch on the car you got there, looking very sporty indeed. Also it has some quite firm character.

That's one dashing car, for sure. Everything looks magnificent. 👍

Car is super clean inside and out, it looks great. Nice pictures too!

What kind of snow tires are you wearing?

Welcome to the forum BloodyPenguin! We look forward to seeing more of your photos and your car.

Actually, in the photos above, I have my summer wheels and tires on.

For the winter, I put my stock wheels back on with a set of Blizzaks.

Here is what my car looks like in the winter:

I don't think it needs to be lowered. The tires fill out the arches pretty good. maybe a little in back.

otherwise, glad to meet a fellow illinoisan. or whatever we call ourselves.

call me crazy, but I like your winter setup more, the stock MSpeed wheel looks perfectly at home, that and driving a MX5 during the winter ftw.

I agree with UnionStrike about the stock MazdaSpeed wheels. However, still great pictures and setup. I love those Miatas and you look like you have a very clean one. 👍

As for the stock MSM Wheels. They are nice. However, they do not belong on a Miata. They are 17" and 17lbs.

My summer wheels are 15" and 13.6lbs.

So I save a lot of rotational mass.

Plus, I am a big fan of black wheels on cars (Though I know a lot of people are not).

I do love driving my Miata in the winter. It is blast. With the snow tires and a good LSD, the car gets around very well. :)

^^^ This.

Nice car man. Engine so clean you can eat off of it.

In stock form they're really not that great. They make a whole 140whp and the suspension kinda sucks. Doesn't take much to wake them up though.

Yeh I know :sly: Especially with coilover, bracing and a decent suspension setup they are fantastic to drive....only the turbo models in the NB series though. Natural aspirated your better off with a NA or a NC as they feel more alive.

But very nice job to the OP car looks really good!

The NC isn't that great in stock form either. But, add an FM suspension and a Cosworth supercharger and look out....

No MX5 is great in stock form unless its the Aussie NA8 Clubman which came stand with LSD and blisten shocks.

I remember taking a stock NA6 through some twisties in Portugal felt like a boat compared to my Cappuccino :)

Hey, good to see another boosted Miata owner on here. Yours is a lot cleaner than mine, though. Mine's an autocross/track rat. And 8 years older. Very pretty car, there. I would not lower it for looks - be careful that what you do is good for handling. 👍

Oh no, it is getting a full set of nice coilovers early next year. I want the best handling I can afford. :)

EDIT: Also want to get a roll cage installed. So little money, so many mods.

I've got the Hard Dog Hard Core Dual Diagonal. It's good for most track days.

aaaah pretty car!! very clean but very sinister looking as well, it's quite cool with the black wheels. Also, I assume you made thos pictures, you have a pretty good eye!!

Keep us posted on the coilover setup you're gonna throw at it.

Yeah, I took all the photos. I just use an old Canon 300D with the stock lens. I would love a nice one with some cool lenses, but I would rather spend that money on my car. :)

The ability to take a simple, good photo always trumps professional trickery and mesmerizing equipment. They don't look like the product of some fancy setup beyond some basic editing, and yet most of them are fantastic. What are using to shoot with?

Thanks for the props.

I just use an inexpensive Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1. (Stock 14-42 Lens).

I would love to have some nice lenses some day though...

This car is reason I don't have an NA8 yet. I thought I was gonna pick one up a few weeks ago, then a few MSMs popped up and I've been waiting for a chance to drive up north and give them a test drive.

Not really that great in stock form. Just don't expect a lot.
