Which car do you prefer to use in GT5, Mitsubishi LANCERs or Subaru IMPREZAs?
. . . And why?

Apparently these two cars have a "arch rivalry" going on, I say this because there is a Trophy for GT5 called "Arch Rivals".

BTW: Anyone car two explain to me why PD decided to create this trophy? Are the Mitsubishi LANCERs and Subaru IMPREZAs really "Arch Rivals"?

. . . I would really love to know the historic aspect of this trophy.


Me personally, I prefer the Mitsubishi LANCERs in GT5 over the Subaru IMPREZAs.

Lancer all the way. Unfortunately they have the 2010 scooby but they don't have the Mitsubishi comeback so Subaru do have the best car. But of you match the cars year by year, Evos are better.👍
 
I prefer the Scooby. just because it feels better. And well, i was a McRae fan back in the day, and didn't really like Mäkinen.

I also think that's where the 'arch rivals' comes from.. the WRC in the 1990's, and both brands decided to bring a rally-derived model on the market..

I've always liked the evo over the sti. but the rivals thing is just that they are very similar in what they are deigned to do. i dont know the historic aspect.
 
Subaru Impreza because Mitsubishi built the zero in WW2 and it was a very weak airplane that was easy to shoot down. Either than that IMO the Mitsubishi is on par with the Subaru 💡
 
Sound like someone needs to open a room , set a PP and tire level and let's all duke it out to see which one's on top. ;)
 
I love the Evo's overall looks. So sexy.
The Impreza's never really appealed that much to me, looks like a bad version of a Honda.

But in the game, Impreza's perform better. ><.
 
The Evos look way better (the new impreza looks like it has a hitler mustache) and I feel Evos drive better on dirt & tarmac.
Apparently its a dead tie, after I voted it was 19-19
 
I really dislike the Evolution when it comes with the shorter front/rear bumper to the ground. It looks really bad.

If I could buy the Evo X I would get it with the front and rear bumper closer to the ground, It looks striking.
 
Voted for Subaru only because there's no Alltrac, the wife loves the STi and they're mostly owned by the boring Company known as Toyota.
 
Evo for me

they are considered arch rival because they were both at one time strong competitor at WRC, with the Evo reaching it's peak at the hands of Tommi Makinen taking several titles, the Impreza took a title with Peter Solberg by a few points by the falling of Gronholm and rise of Loeb.
The fact also that both Subaru and Evo were the only ones to make production AWD turbocharged production versions, at the time they were the only two cars on that category, so if you wanted an afordable AWD turbo japanese car with rally heritage, you had to choose between an Evo or an Sti

archrival because they competed at the WRC and at sales

Evo's and STi's are very close to each other performance wise.
I prefer Evo, always have and lucky to have a 2007 Evo IX IRL. Love it.
STi's are great cars too. The boxer sound is classic.
